We had a rather special event yesterday to honor our Pastor, Father Ivan Csete and our Deacon, Mr. Paul Rausch. Bill created a fantastic buffet for us. Everything was YummyLiscious, and yes, I know there is no such word, but there is now. The staff was super attentive without being intrusive. And they treated our Pastor and Deacon as if they were royalty.

Service was great. Food? Not so much. Hot mess all around. Drive the extra distance to go somewhere else.

Ok, I have to give this place five stars. My boyfriend and I walked into this awesome little place while staying at a bed and breakfast near by. When we first walked in, we were hesitant because although the restaurant was bustling, it was full of a very different generation from our own. We sat down at the bar and played a little music at the jutebox. The owner came by and greeted us warmly, and made sure we were comfortable during our wait. We were introduced to his adorable grandchild and got to know the place a little better. The food was phenomenal, as a private chef in New York City, it greatly exceeded my expectations for upstate New York, and the service was up to my standard as well(just as important as food I feel). After telling Willy that my boyfriend was a veteran, he quietly comped his meal! This was a $ 60 dollar plate mind you, and no one, I mean no one, EVER gives him anything for risking his life. This touched me so much. After dinner Willy invited us to a drink at the bar on him. We laughed and talked about my restaurant work and his grandchild and we learned that most employees there had been there a long time, it was a community and a family. Beautiful place, beautiful people, beautiful night. Thank you Mr. Willy’s we love you!!!

Wait staff is very professional. Food was good, not really gourmet, but better than many. Mr. Willy’s is a good restaurant with a big enough, varied enough menu. The only real complaint if the acoustics in the dining room, as it filled up, it got louder and louder. The room needs some soft surfaces to absorb the sound.

Solid food with some extra pleasant surprises such as french fry cut kohlrabi served alongside the ribs… we had the penne mac and cheese, and the awesome sausage fritters as an appetizer… the owner, Mr Willy(his picture is featured on the menu, one from 1968 and one current), was sitting at the bar and was charming and engaging… Neighborly, «old school», and a good meal for a good value.

We were on a weekend trip at the nearby inn and this was one of the places that we were recommended, plus this was the closest restaurant near the inn. We were seated pretty quickly and the waitress, Katherine, was very friendly and told us about the specials that they had. We ordered the stuffed mushroom for appetizer, grilled lamb chops and stuffed pork chops. The stuffed mushrooms were pretty good, the seafood stuffing was fresh although a little on the fishy side. We had cream of mushroom soup and it was good though we needed to add some salt to it for more taste. The rolls that we were served were hot and toasty and was absolutely delicious. I hate it when restaurants don’t heat up the bread they serve you, so this definitely made me happy. The grilled lamb chops were a bit under seasoned but the meat was tender. The pork chops came with a thin bbq sauce and was stuffed with portabella mushrooms and bacon. It was quite good though I could have done without the BBQ sauce. The garlic mashed potatoes that it came with were also delicious and had a ton of garlic flavor in it which I love. At the end of our meal we were absolutely stuffed and still had tons leftover! Portions here are huge and prices are very reasonable. We had enough leftover for another meal that night. If I ever come back to this area I would definitely eat here again!

Mr. Willy’s is our favorite stop before attending events at Bethel Woods. We always had a good experience here. The food and service certainly measures up. I would recommend it to the world!
