I have been looking forward to trying Fat Daddy’s because Monticello sorely needs some new dining options, and I was curious to see what the new restaurant had to offer, especially after seeing at least three prior attempts at the same location fail. I am sorry to report that I was disappointed. I ordered the 20-piece chicken wings for take-out. They were ready in the 15 minutes they were promised, but when I opened the clamshell box to take a look, I was amazed to see that my $ 18 order of chicken wing only included 7 little celery sticks. Really? When I complained I was provided with 12 more little celery sticks, and when I complained again(I still had more chicken wings than celery sticks), it took the intervention of a «manager» to rustle up more celery. The wings themselves weren’t the smallest I have ever had(but they were probably the second-smallest I have ever had), and they were over-cooked, dry, and chewy. I wish I could say I am looking forward to trying them again, but that would be a lie. I will, however, give their pizza a try sometime soon, and I hope to have a better experience when I do. UPDATE — Wow, within one hour of posting my review on Facebook, three brand new five-star reviews appeared as if by magic. It’s a pity that the ability of the owner to enlist the aid of friends and employees to manipulate their rating on FB doesn’t extend to the kitchen.
