I moved to Montgomery for a year due to my job. I began experiencing constant headaches, neck, and shoulder pains. I was seeing a chiropractor but that wasn’t enough. So one day, I decided to try Hands on Healing. I am so thankful that I did. While living in Montgomery, I saw Amy at least 3 times. She is wonderful. Before we got started, Amy asked about what brought me in and really listened to the pain problems I was having. She explained to me what some of the causes of the pain likely were and then explained how her massage techniques would help. I really LOVED how she did this. I like to understand the causes and how they can be fixed. I haven’t been to another massage therapist who has done this. As for the massage itself, I really like firm pressured massages, and Amy was able to give me firm pressure and target the areas where I was the most tense. I would leave feeling much more relaxed, less tense, and my headaches not as bad. Afterward, Amy even showed me some stretches and exercises I could do in between massages to help! And they definitely did! Now that I am living back in Los Angeles, I cannot find another massage therapist who compares to the level of attention and care that Amy provided. I wish she was out here!

The ladies here are very nice, however, I was pretty disappointed with my deep tissue massage. I have had so many massages that I know the difference between good and bad, and this was pretty bad as far as deep tissues go. I think the therapist’s name might have been Maxine. I was told she was new, but good; she really was not. The massage was not deep tissue at all. Now, that said, it was not bad for a basic massage. Her hands were FREEZING cold but it was eventually, relaxing. However, I do not get deep tissues to relax. I really need them to go deep into my shoulders, neck, and back and that did not happen at all, not at all. However, the price was cheap, $ 60, so I did not complain. I am from NYC and you can’t get a basic massage for that price there. Also, I don’t get massages for atmosphere but if you want any of that, you won’t find it here. It is not a day spa, just a massage spot. They do not even give you a robe to change into; you change in your room. Again, that is not a big deal for me, but if you are looking for that, you definitely will not find it here. Anyway, if you want a deep tissue massage, you might want to try elsewhere.

Great establishment– not only was the massage tailored to exactly what I need, I was given good advise to help with my sore muscles. Highly recommend, and only wish Hands on Healing was located back home, will miss this!
