This place is insane! Great down home cooking, the only people who might compete with my grandmother’s cooking and that says a lot. Get ready for a trek because this out in the middle of nowhere. You will be stuffed and it is easy on the wallet so be certain to visit their bakery before you go home again. During my single days I would need to bring something for a dinner or other celebration. After I discovered Yoder’s was so amazing, I would make the drive out the evening before, eat a sumptuous dinner and get a couple of pies for the shop potluck the next day. Some friends of mine, and I went hiking and made an intentional pit stop here for lunch. It took us about 1 ½ hours to get here, so we knew we had to catch the afternoon opening. We sat in the car for about 45 minutes, which was fine because we were tire as hell after our hiking adventure. Now, just between you and I, we actually ended up unknowingly committing a crime as we each picked up several pecans off the ground on the property and proceeded to snack on them while we waited on them to reopen. Anyway, the locals started rolling in at about 15 til reopening time. So we got our act together and lined up with them. Once we were outside of the car, the smell then lures you towards the door and then inside only to see the baked goods. Just about anything you can think of is being baked here. They even had a section with their day old bread, cookies and cake slices on sale. We all grabbed a few pieces and Bev got an entire Caramel Cake that was some kind of «Did my grandmama bake this cake» good! We all ordered different things, but I think the Fried Chicken was a big hit at out table. The salad was just a regular old salad, but the dressing was soooo good! And rightfully so, since they make/bake/cook/create everything that they sell. The Roast Beef was tender and moist. Everything was good, fresh and filling. Even the gravy was good. Now that’s a good
