Excellent service and great food!!! Here in Monterey on vacation and decided to stop by for takeout last minute. I couldn’t have been more pleased with my experience! Not only did the owner make me feel welcome, the food was super delicious and affordable. Thank you!

This is a mixed review because I think they have the BESTPADTHAI in town however their soups and salads fall short and that’s half the lunch special. Their customer service is sort of hit and miss and it’s often times difficult to get in and out on a lunch break.

Excellent authentic Thai cooking. Our first choice to where to eat in Monterey. Took a client for lunch last week who, after being served for dessert — sticky sweet rice with mango — licked her plate. If you not familiar with Thai food, tell the waitress who is also the owner. She will guide you through a meal you will only think of fondly.

Decent service, but the food fell short. We ordered the wonton soup in a fire pit and a combination kai kour. The fire pot was a lot smaller than I expected, given that our waitress described it was an «extra large» serving. The ladle was also too large for the pot, making it difficult to work with. Nothing special there. The kai kour was tasty, but the protein-to-noodle ratio was completely off. There was roughly two palmfuls of noodles hidden beneath the meat. We scoured that large dish for noodles and boy, was it slim pickings.

Excellent lunch. Ordered the eggplant curry. Perfectly tender chicken. Right amount of heat. Sauce was excellent. Soup was also great. Normally I can make most dishes, in this case I couldn’t duplicate the sauces. Nice meal. Do again!

Wow, wow and wow! I’ve tried a lot of Thai restaurants and this one takes the cake! Hands down the best! We tried a few appetizers and they were amazing but what blew me away was the Panang Curry and Thai BBQ Chicken. The chicken melts in your mouth and the spices are perfectly put together to give it a unique & delicious taste. The service was amazing, and the prices were unbeatable(especially the lunch special).

I love this place. Not only does the food satisfy but the service is also great. The people are so warm and genuinely care about providing a great experience. We ordered the green curry w salmon and it was delicious! Also, if you are a Thai tea lover I would recommend trying it.

This place was not at all Thai food. Quality of food was horrible. Great service but the food wasn’t close. I know what Thai food tastes like and I don’t understand why this place has such high ratings?!? I believe that that people that reviewed this place and gave it 4⁄5 stars don’t know what true authentic Thai food really tastes like. Such a disappointment!

Amazing food, especially if you love spicy. I ordered my food 2 out of 5 spicy and it was just perfect. The staff is really friendly, the atmosphere is nice and the food came after less than 10 minutes.

We were vacationing in Monterrey and the whole family ate here. As a frequent purveyor of thai restaurants, this was by far and away one of the best thai we’ve had .ever! Food is very fresh so expect to wait a bit for it. We had the tom yum and tom kah soup for starters. The papaya salad was brilliant, so was the pad thai, but what really topped the charts was the salmon curry. Not spicy, just right, with vegetables from the garden. Highly recommended. Enjoy!

Tom yum Kai is amazing!!! Salty and good. Service is amazing. They make sure you are really taken care of and they really check the spice levels. The pad tai is good as always. Pumpkin curry is great.

Wow. I branched out. Spicy eggplant dish(ordered with beef), bean thread noodle(ordered with pork), side of white rice, and my usual chicken pad thai, plus a glass of Pierce Vineyard Albarino.= very happy + enough leftover for 2 meals afterwards. Thank you for making it so I can enjoy everything gluten free and stress free. Love you guys!!!

Pretty good, speaking as an extremely picky and unadventurous eater. There were many safe things, like plain steamed rice, cashew chicken, won ton soup, and yellow curry chicken. There were also two families(other customers) speaking Asian languages, and they seemed to like their food, so my guess is that all the things I was too scared to try are also pretty good(if you like that sort of thing.) Wasn’t crowded at all on a Thursday evening(6−7pm,) but this is January so my guess is that it’ll normally be much busier.

I have eaten at this restaurant for at least ten years. It has seen better days, unfortunately. We asked for our food to be very spicy… It came out mild and bland. The portions were small for the amount charged. There were quite a few elderly folks dining at the same time. That might explain the bland food, but sadly, I will need to find a better Thai place in Monterey.

The service was poor; it took almost 35 minutes and two tries to get a coconut soup. The food was bland and didn’t impress. We ordered the Vietnamese rolls which came after 15 minutes and were ok. The house wines were ok for $ 5 pours. The restaurant was very warm and the seating for two were back to back, which was odd as four tops sat empty while we were there. Didn’t want to try the deserts, will say that the bill was only around $ 30 which is a cheap sit down dinner in Monterey.

When I’m too lazy to drive an extra few miles to Baan Thai, I’ll come here for Thai food. I’ve never had to wait very long for a table here. 5 minutes max. It’s good and unpretentious. The service is friendly and fast too. I love the décor and all the natural lighting. Check in on Unilocal because I got a free Thai iced tea last time! The Tom Kha Gai here is awesome. I’m sometimes order it when I’m in the mood for soup. The broth is rich with coconut, tom yum flavors, tender chicken, and mushrooms. The brightness of all the spices and herbs makes this dish one of my favorites here. I usually try to order the bowl so I have leftovers the next day. Well worth it! My second favorite dish here is the pad see ew. I’m a sucker for stir fried noodles. The pad see ew here is cooked well with broccoli, carrots, tender slices of beef, and rice noodles. The sauce isn’t overly sweet and it’s the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Portions are good. Not too much and not too little. I guess the bad part about that is I don’t always get left over noodles for lunch the next day. Take out can take a while here. I called in my order once and I don’t think they even cooked it until I got there because I still had to wait an extra 15 minutes after they told me when the food would be ready by. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a good Thai restaurant in Monterey. I like the food and service here and have never had a bad experience.

I’d rate it a 4.5 stars but I’ll round it up to 5 stars. writing this review as we speak while waiting for the bill. ordered fried tofu and spicy bbq pork as an entrée. ordered it «very spicy» and it came out pretty damn spicy. and my tolerance is extremely high. I love spicy food. impressed especially considering monterey is not really an ethnic area. the food was fresh and full of flavor. portions slightly on the small side but I would definitely come back. please take note I’m an ethnic person and I know and love ethnic food. I guess you can say I’m a snob. I can’t speak for the other dishes this place serves as I’ve only been here once while on business but I’m sure they’re great if this dish was. service was good and these thai(I’m assuming) people actually are polite. I’ve been to other places where they’re downright rude… culture I’m sure!
