How come I didn’t discover this place earlier??? I love traditional authentic handmade dumplings. You sure can buy a bag of frozen dumplings from 99 ranch for 3 dollars but they don’t taste the same. Boyfriend has adapted to good quality handmade dumplings now after I took him to various dumpling places in SGV. He grew a taste :) We got here a little after 2pm. Place is empty for dine in customers. We were immediately seated and offered a menu. I chose the pan-fried dumplings while mr. insist on boiled. Our order: Pork and cabbage boiled dumpling: great flavor, handmade dumpling wrap, juicy inside; solid 5 star Pork with leeks and shrimp wonton soup: favorite on the table. Skin is soft, soup has seaweed, green onion and cilantro. We love this dish! Wonton is amazing. This reminds me of the wonton soup I had when I was little. Pan-fried dumpling with three delicacy was for me. It has shrimp, leek and egg. Love the texture of the bottom part. I stuffed myself for 7 dumplings. Feel the satisfaction. During our lunch, lots lots of people came in to get frozen takeout. Because we love their wonton soup so much, we got a bag of frozen one to go, along with steam rolls. Service was quick and silent. Nothing to complain. Overall, food is 5 star and beyond. Will def come back to get more takeout.

Alright, so I went here a few weeks ago and was refused service. The manager told me that they were closed, but the restaurant was full of people eating. It was also an hour before closing time. I’m not sure if it was because I’m a different race or not, but I do feel like there was a better way of handling the situation. That being said, I’m sure that the food here is amazing. I’d just like to feel comfortable the next time I eat here.

I think the food here is good. The service is fast and to the point. It’s a very small place, a lot of people buy things to go. Their steamed buns are really good(you’ve to buy them to go.) If you like garlic you’ll love this place, they give you minced raw garlic with your dumplings.

It’s good solid food, and a generous portion size for the prices. You do get value for your money. Lamb dumplings were ok, but could use some spices. I liked their hand pulled noodle soup very much; it was just right. Really good! Their leek pie is also good. All in all, it’s a solid effort and a decent place to go for lunch.

This place is a very tiny, hole-in-the-wall in Monterey Park. They only have about six tables, which is probably good since they share an equally small parking lot in the back with several other establishments in the little strip mall/quad where they are located. We came here based on a recommendation from an article in Lucky Peach, and only ordered the Pan Fried Pork Dumplings with Leeks & Shrimp. They looked exactly like the other posters photos and were pretty tasty. These are not like regular pan-fried dumplings. I agree with other posters, the wrapper is like bao dough, only thinner and fried to a nice crisp on one side. The other side of the dumplings are soft like a bao, just not as thick. The stuffing of pork and shrimp was good: flavorful and hot. We didn’t use the garlic sauce. The Lucky Peach article cautions to use it at your own risk and I have to agree. It was basically just ground up raw garlic with a little seasoning and oil! Soooo garlicky! We got here at about 11:15AM on a Wednesday, and we were the only ones when we arrived. They fired up the stove for us and our dumplings came out hot and fresh about 10 minutes later. Might be back to try some other items, but not before we hit up some of the other places on our dumpling crawl(see )!

This is one of those hole-in-the-wall Northern Chinese breakfast/brunch spots. Loved dumplings here but the«pot stickers» are disappointing. We tried Zha Jiang Mian(noodle) too and it was decent. Good meal overall but you need to come and figure out what’s good and what’s not so good. By the way, service was quick and there’re no long lines.

I had this place bookmarked after reading some blog post about«top dumpling places in LA» or something along those lines and came because we happened to be in the area. P A R K I N G: The restaurant is in a really small quad and there is a really small parking lot at the back. The restaurant itself is kind of janky – totally what I would expect from a small, mom-and-pop, Chinese restaurant. We went in around 4pm and there was nobody in there, the owners and chefs were just reading newspaper. F O O D: We ordered the Fried Pork and Leek Dumplings. I was surprised to see that the lady started MAKING our dumplings – they were fresh! I guess because we were the first customers in a while they took a while to get the wok heated and to cook it – maybe around 15 minutes, which is a lot for just 8 dumplings. The dumplings came with a small plate of garlic sauce – literally just garlic, which was very garlic-y and yummy with some soy sauce. Honestly I thought the fried dumplings would be like normal dumplings, but these ones are more like fried baos(buns) with meat inside. The outer layer is kind of like char siu buns(thicker and fluffy) – just fried, and the inside has a good ratio of meat and leek. Honestly it was good but I don’t know how I feel about it – I kind of wish I had the regular steamed dumplings instead. Not that it was bad but maybe it was because I had something else in mind when I ordered it so when something else came out it wasn’t really what I had hoped for. By the end(around 15 – 20 minutes of eating later), the restaurant was almost full(they only had maybe 10 tables max), and I saw everyone else ordering noodle soup. I wouldn’t mind coming again but I feel like there are better dumpling places out there.

«Hao chi!» The pork and mustard green noodles were great! It had a unique flavor, the noodles were nice and chewy, and there was plenty! The dumplings were also good and filled with meat. I also liked the pan-fried buns! Be careful though as they were extremely hot thermally on the inside. The presentation was also unique. I gave them a big thumbs-up and smile. :-D I love mom-and-pops places like this — simply good food!

Solid spot. Expect bad service. Loved the beef soup with hand pulled noodles. Tried their shrimp and pork boiled dumplings, great flavor and texture. Also had the thick pan fried pork dumplings that are sort of like a happy crispy medium between a dumpling and a pork bun. Interesting…

Okay food, dumplings were good, side dishes a little bland. Wait staff was pleasant, though one of the workers was caught picking his nose for a length of time surpassing an itch. Tread with caution.
