Optimeyes Optometry

Came in for an eye exam today. Doctor and staff were super nice and helpful. Also got 10% off for checking in. Will definitely come back. Thanks again ladies.

I went to visit Dr. Tsao to use up my VSP benefits before the end of the year. Since I recently got Lasik, I didn’t need prescription glasses so I asked her how I could best use my frames allowance. After taking some time to ask about what I do, she eventually recommended that I get «blue light blocking» lenses to to help protect my eyes from all the time I spend sitting in front of the computer. She helped me pick out a frame which I really like! They’re TOMs (like the shoe brand): they look great, very modern and were a reasonable price. Super happy that I paid her visit before end of the year!

I made 3 appointments with Dr. Tsao during the week of Thanksgiving – one for myself, one for my 10 month old (who was born a preemie), and one for my mother.
The office staff was very friendly and the office itself is very clean and well-​taken care of. My 10 month old wasn’t on my insurance plan for some reason and the receptionist called my insurance company to see what the issue was. She was fantastic at getting to the bottom of the issue and communicated with me what I needed to do to get him on my plan.
My little guy is sometimes cross-​eyed and given his history of being a preemie, I wanted Dr. Tsao to check him out. She was very thorough in her examination and explanation of any concerns she had. As for my 10 month old, the exam was a breeze. Dr. Tsao has great bedside manner and a very gentle, friendly voice. She talked to my little guy throughout the whole process. He was fascinated with everything going on and didn’t protest once.
I don’t wear glasses and I’d never had a full-​on eye exam in all my 30 years, so this was a new experience for me. I was full of (probably annoying) questions about what she was doing and what it was for and she patiently explained everything. It was kind of fun! Except for the numbing eye drops. Not so fun. Such a weird feeling. I don’t do eye drops in my eyes (think Rachel from FRIENDS) but Dr. Tsao got them in like a pro.
My mom was pleased with her eye exam, as well. She was due for some new glasses so after examining her eyes, Dr. Tsao helped my mom pick out a pair of glasses that fit her face well. When they arrived, my mom was super happy with them.
The parking lot is super teeny tiny, but we didn’t have any issues with finding a spot. There’s also street parking.
We love Dr. Tsao and recommend her for all ages!

I’ve been looking for an optometrist for a while now and found out Dr. Tsao had opened her office so I decided I’d get a checkup. I couldn’t ask for anything more. The office was nice and clean and she and her staff were friendly and very helpful.
The parking lot is a little awkward, but this wasn’t a problem as there was plenty of parking spaces when I visited and there was still a lot of nearby street parking.
I’ll definitely be coming back next year and would recommend her to all of my friends.

Awesome new optometry place in SGV!
Having grown up in SGV but worked/​lived on the Westside as well as downtown, I have been to several optometrists over the years, and I must Optimeyes is definitely one of the best.
Dr. Tsao is knowledgeable, personable, kind, and really took her time in giving me the eye exam. I definitely appreciated that Dr. Tsao made sure to answer any questions that I had, and I also got the sense that she truly cared about my health.
The other great thing about this office is that they have the sweetest staff. I have been to many doctor’s offices where the doctor is great, but the front desk people are unhelpful, unfriendly, and couldn’t care less about you. Everyone at Dr. Tsao’s office was so friendly and happy.
I’ve been fortunate in the sense that my eyes are fairly good so I never had to worry about any serious eye issues, but I still hate it when I go into an optometrist (or any doctor’s office for that matter) and feel rushed or that the doctor doesn’t try to connect with me personally (yes I know, first world problem right?). Of course it doesn’t hurt that Dr. Tsao is a fellow Bruin that I like her more haha.
Anyway, they also have a pretty good selection of frames and a decent parking lot. I’d recommend checking it out if you’re looking for an optometrist.

I have put off going to the Optometrist for a little over a year. I was very loyal to the old doc I used to see, but he passed.
I moved into the area earlier this year and began looking around for a place to get my eyes checked. Initially, I called this location thinking it belonged to another optometrist, but that was not the case. I decided to make the appointment anyway and am very glad I did! The staff greeted me as I walked in the door and were very nice. One of the assistants ran some very basic tests, before Dr. Tsao came in. Dr. Tsao was awesome! I did not feel rushed during the exam. She even helped me pick a pair of glasses that fit the shape of my face, all of this with a smile. About the only thing I would have liked to have seen is a larger selection of frame manufacturers. I still got a nice pair of Raybans :) I would most definitely recommend Dr Tsao to someone looking for eye care. I will be back next year for my eye exam.
