My daughter and I had a great experience here. I can’t believe the reviews. The husband and wife that helped us were super friendly. Gelato is our thing and we were very impressed. I will be back and I only wish we didn’t live so far.

This place wasn’t anything spectacular. The gelato tasted more like shaved ice than gelato.

My boyfriend got the sea salt caramel, wow they legit put salt in it. He took a bite and threw it out. My coconut gelato tasted like soap.

Good ice cream. Awful food handling. Both times I brought my child for ice cream, both the elderly lady and the elderly fellow were on their cell phone and computer, respectively. Both times, they did not wash their hands, did not wear gloves, and grabbed the cone with their hands and marshmallows with their hands, handed the cone to my child, proceeded to use the cash register, touch money, and go right to the next customer. Totally disgusting. In this day and age, Everyone who works with food should know proper food handling. Would definitely not go back and I just wish I would have said something directly to them. But when you are with your child, it’s very uncomfortable to make an issue or scene. So I would just like to address that here as I believe it’s completely appropriate for a review to help other consumers. All I could think about now is whether his or her fingers were in their nose, mouth, or other frightening place. Oy Vey! I’m still thinking about it ;(I was pretty grossed out by that and just hope they get their act together before they make someone sick if not already.

We had the seasalt-caramel-with-pecans gelato on waffle cones. Delicious! Two scoops left me wanting more! Mmm…

Stole my money. I got a single scoop in an ordinary plastic cup and signed for the single scoop price. Check my bank account 3 days later and they overcharged me by a dollar. I left the tip space blank and am pretty sure one of the workers wrote in a tip for themselves… or how else would this happen? I was in the shop around 5 pm on Saturday 9÷11÷15. A girl and guy were working. Management should really look into whom they are hiring. I have been a returning customer, but after this I don’t think I will come back. I don’t really want to drive over for a dollar, but that is my money that they wrongfully took and that is not right.

This place was definitely not my favorite. The yogurt was average so this is why they get two stars. The employees seemed confused and the place doesn’t seem inviting for an after date dessert. Not to mention that the prices are .95 per topping and they barely put any. Won’t be coming back.

Two Words: Hard Gelato Gelato is suppose to have a soft and milky texture. However, the pistachio gelato they serve here has been frozen above the needed texture — this is why the gelato is very hard. It seemed like this place used more cream in their gelato which made their gelato taste more ice cream than gelato. As for service, it was decent. The employee did not seem enthused to work at a frozen dessert place. I would go to a different gelato place on State St. On the positive note, they do provide nutrition facts to those who are calorie or macro conscious! I would suggest asking for a few samples before buying anything! I will go here again to try their sorbet. They serve non-dairy sorbets — perfect for those who are lactose intolerant or vegan.

I’m a big fan of sorbet and it’s so hard to find these days. I can’t take milk products so it’s a very rare treat for me to be able to enjoy an ice cream store. This place made my day. Plus they let you sample anything you want before you decide.

This review was from the summer. Sorry of the flavors have changed. I was impressed with the helpful staff, who helped my friend and I make a decision between a lot of fun flavors. Some were so unique, but also so necessary. I sampled the watermelon with mint and lemon lavender and my friend sampled the pluot and strawberry with chocolate. I ended up with the pluot. Tasty!

Came here tonight after dinner to use our two for one Axxess coupon. They had lots of sorbet options, in addition to gelato. The cookies and cream I ordered was pretty darn good. It gets three stars because of the guy working there. A customer in front of us wanted frozen yogurt(which they don’t have) and he was giving her the hard sell to try sorbet. When she said no thanks and started to leave, he yelled after her to wait and to try the sorbet anyway. He may have thought he was just trying hard to sell the product, but it was really pushy and I was uncomfortable.

This is my favorite gelato spot. Every time I drive my S. B I have to stop.

Server was nice, but each of the four different flavors my friends and I had were very freezer-burnt and icy. This made the gelato seem not like gelato, but like ice cream. Flavorless, almost inedible ice cream. My friends and I all left very disappointed, though I felt sorry for the older server because of the lack of quality of the product and the lack of customers. Here’s the Scoop is in need of some serious help.

HOMEMADEGELATO… I finally found some! After romping through the Santa Barbara Zoo, we were on the way to the 101 South and passing through Montecito when we saw this wee lil sign that had«Scoop» in it. Could it be ice cream? No, fellow Unilocalers say gelato… Cool! Storefront is hidden from Coast Village Road down a flight of stairs. Not sure this would be easy to find @ night. It’s a well kept boutique with lots of seating. Friendly greeting on entering. Samples were easily obtained. We ordered a few flavors from the 22 available… MAYANCHOCOLATE: Tasty chocolate with a little kick… love it! SALTYCARAMEL W/PECANS: First time I’ve had this flavor and its actually tasted salty. My sons says this is a new favorite though. MIXEDBERRY(strawberry, blueberry, blackberry): Sorbet was a wonderful fruit concoction that created a refreshingly pleasant taste. Great option after a hot zoo day ;) VANIGLIABEAN(vanilla bean): It’s vanilla, my lil tot’s fav. He devoured it with a smile. MANDORLATOSTATA(roasted almond): It’s usually a good bet that I’ll enjoy anythin’ with almonds in it. This was no exception. Good stuff. COCONUT&MACADAMIANUTS&SHAVEDCHOCOLATE: Loved this mixture of flavors. They complimented each other splendidly. A favorite =) AVOCADOMANGO w/LIME: So unique, had to get a scoop! Maybe too many different flavors in this combination. I do enjoy each on its own, not sure they work together, though. A for effort none the less! The shop may be a little difficult to find but they offer unique creations in addition to the standards, that it’s worth a lil looksee. Return trips will undoubtedly find something new to try. Hey, If they care enough to display a nutrition guide, you know someone here has a passion for these delightful desserts. Love the creativity & willingness to «step outta da box.»

After a long day at the beach, this small ice creamery is a delicious way to end an eventful day. The waffles were made to order. I had a double scoop of pistachio — YUM! It’s perfect to take your kids if they’d aced a test.

Outstanding. My favorite flavors: pistachio, coconut, Italian chocolate chip. Waffle cones(they give you a wafer with a cup) are perfect. I tried«cherimoya» today – a sorbet but their sorbets are not entirely icy and they almost taste as though they have milk in them – and it was JUST like that Mexican fruit we have near my parents’ house in Pacific Palisades. My caregiver/housekeeper used to pick them up as she was driving up to our house. Prices are roughly equivalent to Pinkberry or other good yogurt stores. It’s on Coast Village and the owner is an avuncular tall man who takes great pride in his store. They rotate flavors seasonally as they use fruit from Farmers Market. I don’t go a lot and every time I do, I wonder why I go so infrequently. (P.S. It’s not that high in calories, sugar or fat. I forget the stats on 4 ounces but remember being pleasantly surprised something so good could be so relatively innocuous on the calorie front.)
