Carne Asada Burrito Huge burrito. Definitely a little more on the heavier side. Might need a nap after this one. Nonetheless, it’s a huge burrito that tastes great. Tons of asada and plenty of other goodies inside to make it worthwhile. There are plenty of other items on the menu that I’ve picked at but haven’t ordered. Their Chili Cheese Fries are also yums and worth getting.

This review is strictly for this order. Which was a bean and cheese burrito and an order of taquitos with guacamole. This has to have been the worst bean and cheese burrito I’ve eaten in the entire city of Montebello. I’ve worked in this city for the last year and there are numerous places to get a very basic and fresh bean and cheese burrito, but this is definitely not one of them. This burrito literally tasted like canned beans(yes I know what canned beans taste like) They were hard and dry and the burrito was already cold within driving 3 blocks back to work. The taquitos were a complete joke. They used something nearly identical to the frozen guero taquitos that you find at costco in the bulk packs. You know the ones. The pack that comes with that watery, tasteless, wannabe, guero liquid they call guacamole. At nearly $ 10 for this lunch you’d expect something better. In good conscience I can’t see myself ever ordering either item mentioned ever again or recommending it to friends. m-d

I got an $ 8.95 Pastrami so it’s almost $ 10.00 with tax. Pretty small for that price. Should be a $ 6.95 Pastrami for the amount of meat and Roll size. The roll was on the dry side and the meat was decent but certainly not great. It was an average size and average tasting sandwich with a very high price. If you are in the mood for a good Pastrami and a good value this is probably not it

I’ve been coming to this place for years! I got hooked when my mom ordered me a chicken salad. Best salads in Los Angeles! The ranch dressing really is amazing. I also really enjoy the steak sandwich and chicken club sandwiches. The fries are also really good with the ranch. The only drawback here is you have to pay for ranch unless you order salad or chicken strips. Another thing I don’t like is they don’t load up the container for the chili cheese fries. They only load the front portion and leave the back empty so you get a lot less compared to other burger joints which sucks because they are just as expensive. This is a great place and a must try if you are in the east Los Angeles area. I wish they stayed open later, I’ve tried coming here late night on the weekend for some chili cheese fries and it seems like they are always closed.

The breakfasts here are absolutey great! They feel like they have been made with all the right amount of tasty ingredients. Though i like the drive cuz eating inside is always a little full. The only reason why i give 3 stars is cuz you have to pay a larger fee than in most restaurants to use your credit card and that is just unacceptable problematic

I knew it as soon as I pulled up in the drive way that I was going to love it… the smell of a charbroiled burger is my biggest weakness… hands down the best burger I’ve tasted in so cal(I’m from San francisco) and definitely the best burger I’ve tasted in a long time. The fries were crisp and perfect. The burger perfectly juicy and flavorful… we got free order of fries by checking in on Unilocal. And my hubby got ¼ bacon cheeseburger fries and drink and I got ¼ cheeseburger fries and coke all for 15.00 that’s a steal .very good food great job to the team at California burger

Fire fire fire! I came in after a business costco run to get a burger and got some free fries to!!! I had a char cheeseburger which was very tasty. It had a good grilled taste to it and all the veggies and bread were fresh. Check in for free fries. I will be back to this little gem of a burger shack! A+

I ate breakfast at California Burgers in Montebello, CA on 8÷31÷2015. It was my 1st time there. Good food and good service. My bill for a Denver omelette, large orange juice and coffee came to $ 12.43 with tax. Plus, I took photos.

I don’t understand why this place gets so much flak. It’s my favorite old fashioned hamburger stand in the area and to me is better than Arry’s(overrated in my honest opinion). My go to items on their menu are the hamburger special, it’s better without cheese, and the chicken strip dinner. The food does take a while to be made but that’s a good thing considering your food is made when you order and not just sitting there all day. The staff is great and are always nice, especially the lady that is usually at the drive thru. Overall definitely recommend the place. Don’t let the bland look of the restaurant deter you.

This is a traditional charbroiled burger joint, but the best part about this place is that it has a DRIVE-THRU! Surprisingly, it did make a difference between deciding to eat here, or the other char-broiled burger place down the street! The fries were my favorite part. Didn’t need any Ketchup at all to enjoy the delicious taste! The burger was okay, and comparable to other burgers I’ve had. The price is also not that bad! Tip! If you are using the drive thru, turn your engine off because it will take a while! ;)

This is my 3rd time calling to preorder my take out food and i Dont like the fact that when I arrive my order isnt ready. They start making it when I get there.(whats the point of calling to preorder) i didnt call in just to let them know what I want to eat. I preordered my food so I can show up pay and not have to wait.

I LOVETHEIRMILKSHAKE!!! As a milkshake fanatic, that’s why it deserved the extra star. We got the tuna melt, chili cheese fries and chile verde burrito [which wasn’t very verde]. The Tuna Melt was point on as a tuna melt should be. I’ve had better and worst green burritos but always salvaged with the pickled carrots they have on the side. We went during closing and they had already put away the chiles, which I was bummed about. The meat was a bit dry for my taste. Lastly, don’t get the chili cheese fries. I’m a huge chili cheese fries fan and I’d go to weinerschnizel for that, not here. Maybe they were in a rush to get us out but the fries were so soft and soggy. Burger Joint Lovers Tip to ALLFASTFOODS: Everybody loves their fries crispy! Think I might give this place another shot if I was super hungry and it’s close by. They have a drive through too… thought that was cute. Yes, make sure you get charged the right price everybody.

In case you haven’t noticed, I love my burgers especially hole-in-the-wall ones. So I try them out whenever I get a chance. Now that I’m living back in the area, I’m out to try all the local places. Late on a Friday night I was having a hankering for some junky food and decided that I wanted a burger. I pondered my usual stops, but I told myself«No, I must try some place new.» And well, California burgers isn’t anywhere new. I used to eat here as a kid a lot, but couldn’t remember if the burgers were«great» or «good» or «lousy.» So off to California we went at 9 pm. Ordered a double cheeseburger, cheeseburger, and chili tamale(my mom loves those) and fries. Waited for nearly 20 minutes for our food to be cooked(yes, we were the only ones in there). The«regular» order of fries was super small. I’d hate to see what the«small» fries is. The burger? It was okay. It’s got the shredded lettuce, which for some unknown reason I love. It had thousand island. The patty was pretty small, and I could taste the char-broiled. The fries were okay. Nothing special. The floors and wall were all sticky from years of greasy cooking. The menu is overwhelming(which isn’t necessarily a bad thing). I mean there’s something for everyone to enjoy from breakfast to burgers to burritos to chili to tuna melts to salads. Oh and they serve Natty. Staff is super friendly. Would I tell you to come out of your way to eat here? No, I wouldn’t. Would I choose/crave this place in the future? No, I won’t. It’s good for nearby and late food but that’s about it.
