Place looks straight from the seventies but their fried chicken is timeless. The fried chicken is incomparable to other fried chicken. Very juicy and tasty. Really glad I tried this place.

So dissatisfied. .! ! We have been going to broaster chicken for approx. 20 yrs +…decided to eat some ribs and chicken tonight. feel somewhat unloyal. .but gotta mention. .after ordering our food via ph. .they said 20 mins. To p/u…after excuses 2 times… and 1 Hr later… we picked up food… they apologized and comped us a slice of pie… cool. but we got food home and chicken resembled k.f.c. fried… not broasted… exposed the ribs… and meat looked pink… unsectioned…and tasted uncooked and tough… ate 2 pieces and put the rest down… once again .so disappointed… would not recommend to anyone anymore…

This place so delicious! You’ve never had fried chicken like this. Crispy skin, juicy meat, and healthy sized pieces. Not all pweeny and reasonably priced. Plus the staff is super friendly and speedy.

The BROASTED chicken is sooooooooooooooo delicious!(Broasted and fried only look similar in the finished product: The process and taste are significantly different.) I got the mashed potatoes and gravy which were to die for. They use red potatoes which give it an extra umph. The pie is handmade and extra tasty. Worth the price. That said, it was one of the worst days to go in there. I think their AC was down and it was a very hot and humid day. They had fans on, but the only one doing anything was at the register. I was actually cooler outside. Either way I want to go back for more. YUMMY!

I came here to find out what«broasted» chicken was. This place has been open for years so I would assume there is a loyal following that goes other than when i did during the week at lunchtime? The menu is simple and all meals are very cheap. I kinda like that. I hear the pies are homemade and tasty. All meals are made to order so be prepared to wait. Most of the food is fried(or broasted so they call it). The little restaurant was a bit greasy as there was broast all over the floor and on the table and in the air. After eating here and making my way through the greasy broast cloud to the door I still cannot figure out how that WASN’T just cheap fried chicken!

My wife and i had driven by this place for YEARS and had always said that we’d eventually stop by. Well, we did. The shop reminds me of something out of the 1970s… its decorated like your 60 year old aunt’s garage sale. The chicken is very moist and tasty and the apple pie tasted like it was made at home. I didnt much appreciate the cole slaw nor huge potatoe wedges which were rather forgettable.

I’ve read quite a few reviews here about Broaster Chicken and there are not a lot of happy folks. I being one of them. The food was ok, it wasn’t bad, maybe I went on a good day? The horrible experience came from the staff of Broaster Chicken, particularly the girl behind the counter. Wow, what a bitch! I asked for a #1 and then she asked«anything else?» I replied with(I looked around for a fountain machine or what they offered by quickly glancing at the menu and didn’t know what to order, but most places have fountain drinks so I just said«a coke»?. She answered back very rudely with«what!?». I said«Coke». I guess since I was looking around she assumed I thought I was getting a «cup» for a fountain drink so she replied with«we only have „canned“ drinks» while pointing down to the display. I looked down and there sitting in the display was a «coke». So I said, «ok Coke». Geez really? Anyway, I proceeded to place my credit card on the counter and she said, «we only accept cash here». I told her that«you guys need to get with the times… you know, «technology». She seemed to agree. I walked out and went next door to get some cash. Now, when I returned and placed a $ 20 dollar bill on the counter she said sarcastically«oh, we have cash…» or something like that. At this point I was like wow. Anyway, after ringing me up she took the receipt, held it up, and let it fall to the counter. She didn’t even hand it to me or say anything such a «Thank you!». I again said«wow». She is young and immature and it’s obvious she hates working there. So I waited for my food and after about what seemed to be 10 minutes I got my order. I was a bit suspicious about what I was going to eat since my encounter with her wasn’t a very good one so I checked my food very well. It wasn’t bad, to me it was just regular old fried chicken. The cole slaw was good, the potato wedges were huge, but nothing special. All in all the food was average, nothing I’d return for a on regular basis, but it wasn’t a horrible experience except for the immature vag behind the counter. You want good chicken«The Chicken Box» in La Habra. Good chicken and ribs! Would have gotten 3 stars but the place was filthy! So 2 stars.

Great fried(excuse me «Broasted») chicken and potato wedges. Crispy on the outside and moist & fresh on the inside. It is all cooked to order, no bins of pre-cooked chicken that they pull pieces out of. But since is cooked to order, take out takes about 15 – 20 minutes, if there is no line. So phone ahead if you can. Really good pies too. This is basically a take-out place, while there are a few table to the side. It is basically hot and sticky. No air conditioning. The décor is 40 years old and it shows. Grease stains on the wall.

Super good chicken, again with BOASTED, you need to have patience, on top of that this place has a help wanted sign outside, but the food is great, make sure you check your order before leaving they tend to get orders mixed up, but it is TASTY.

I love this place! This is the best broasted chicken in town. Make sure you order 20 minutes in advance bc that’s how long it will take to cook. The chicken is crispy on the outside & juicy on the inside. The coleslaw is delicious… not too much mayo. Corn is perfect. They steam it with love… butter :) The dinner rolls are regular rolls, nothing fancy like biscuits. Potato wedges are amazing. They’re ginormous & really hot so be careful when u take a bite of it. I’ve been coming here for 9 years now since I found this place. There used to be an old lady cooking… since the 70s!!! Now it’s her son. He does a great job too! You have to try this place. It’s not close to fancy, but if you like traditional broasted chicken, you have to try it. Customer service… some suck & some r great… It depends who they hire bc I’ve seen so many turnovers. The owner on the other hand is always smiling, welcoming, & saying hi to us.

My family used to come here all the time since I grew up in the area. The chicken is good, but the customer service is lacking. Apparently things haven’t changed after all these years. I would recommend calling in your order ahead of time so you don’t have to wait, but they don’t seem to start your order until you get there and pay. On a more recent visit, we were waiting at the counter to order and this lady comes in after us, cuts in front of us because she knew the cashier and ordered. The chicken is good, but don’t for one second expect service with a smile.

Horrible! Absolutely no customer service what so ever! The food was bland! I could go on and on but I’m not going to waste any more time on this excuse for a restaurant! Unfortunately I have to give it a star but my intent is not to even give one.

Gave the owner a call just to have him yell at me over the phone lol wow! I was not about to get into a screaming match with a complete stranger who decided to contact me days after the incident lol this has become a joke. I can say whatever I want without having this owner Mike intimidate me over my experience at his establishment. Not only do they lack customer service but everyone from the employees to the owner have no class. Wow, what a horrible experience visiting this place has been. Never going back and hopefully Mike stops harassing me via Unilocal. *purple hair employee gave me a cup with ice containing a loogie in it, resulting in me becoming sick *when the same waitress purple hair girl brought my food she did it in a rather rude manner, practically throwing the plate of food in front of me *when I decided to get my servers attention to address the loogie situation I noticed there were a lot of customers so rather than make a scene I left and gave them a call asking to speak with a manager or someone in charge *was given the run around from the so called manager, insisting I give her my number because even though Mike was there he didn’t want to take the phone call of a customer lol yeah right I’m really going to give my digits to some girl *finally was contacted by Mike through Unilocal weeks after the incident. Via Unilocal he sent me his cell phone. I called him today just to have a very unprofessional individual(Mike) attempt to intimidate me over my written experience about his restaurant. He screamed at me so I told him I didn’t call to get into an argument wished him a good day and hung up on him. No wonder this place is under so much scrutiny, after my brief conversation/third degree from the owner I came to understand that the issues root from the owner and his lack to communicate verbally with customer service skills. Good thing about this distasteful experience is that I choose to never visit them again :) and as far as you Unilocalers, go at your own risk but from my experience I wouldn’t visit this disturbing and disgusting establishment.

This pains me to have to update this(because this has been such a «go to» place for chicken) but, unfortunately, I think there has been a change in management leftand they’ve gone the way of downgrading their product. Smaller pieces … not as flavorful. I would like to think this may have been an anomaly, but I didn’t the familiar white-haired, little old lady doing the cooking. Which probably means — when she left — so did the heart & soul of the place. Good bless her, though, for the MANY years of AMAZING cooking!

Kinda shocking that this place has been in business for 44 years and I never experienced the place. I’ve always been a fan of broasted chicken but its rare to see these places. It was a Monday and I discovered Broaster Kitchen on Unilocal.Located in a strip center — parking was convenient. I chose to dine in and placed my order for one of the lunch specials offered. The special consisted of 3 pc dark, cole slaw, broasted potatoes and a roll for $ 4.99 the chicken is cooked to order so it took about ten minutes but was worth the wait. The broasted chicken & potatoes were hot and and delicious, cole slaw — yummy and roll OK. I really enjoyed my experience here and would definitely return here again. If you decide to check Broaster Chicken out order the Unilocal deal and pay $ 10.00 for $ 15.00 worth of food.

Excellent broasted chicken. We got the Unilocal $ 10 for $ 15 deal. We got their 10&10 special for $ 13.49, which is 10 mixed pieces and 10 potato wedges. To make the limit, an order of onion rings($ 1.79) was added. Essentially the meal costed us $ 11.33 total with tax. What a deal. Since they prepare everything to order, it’s better to call ahead to avoid the wait of 20 minutes pretty much. Definitely a repeat!
