Sparkle Dentistry For Children

Sparkles is a wonderful place for our kids… they feel comfortable from the moment they arrive to the moment we leave. We typically go to Dr. Mathias who is thorough and extremely attentive. Her hygienist Ashley is amazing with kids — keeps the whole experience fun and lively. Our last appointment was with Dr. Kulkarni who my husband and I both thought was wonderful as well.

Incredibly disappointed by this office’s lack of professionalism and misguided clinical advice.
Long story short: I made an appointment for a special consult with Dr. Mathias and another specialist – personally set up by Dr. Mathias. When I arrived, I informed the front manager that I was here for my appointment; she had no record of it on file. She went back to check with Dr. Mathias, who was in back, and came out to say that the specialist was not in the office that day. It seems Dr. Mathias had completely forgotten to set up the appointment with the specialist, or to inform the front desk of the appointment. It would have been very easy for Dr. Mathias to come out to the front and admit her fault, and we could have moved on – but she stayed in back the entire time and sent the front manager back and forth to do her bidding. I was pretty furious because this was a summer weekend that we planned to be away, and I cancelled those plans for this special appointment.
To this day, Dr. Mathis has never contacted me to discuss this mishap, or to make amends. Obviously, we’ve moved on and found another dentist for the kids, who, incidentally, informed me that the advice I was given (by Dr. Mathias) to course-​correct my child’s overbite, was incorrect. I’m quite disappointed in the lack of professionalism from this office and doubt the veracity of the clinical advice given within.
