Stopped in today to see what it was all about. I recently read a list where this location was named in the top 5 Colombian restaurants in the entire country. Sorry that i can’t recall the source, but it was one of the reasons I decided to check it out. The place had two other tables seated. We put our starters in(empanadas) and they arrived quickly. Clearly they had been sitting all morning and the dough was a clear sign of that. Thumbs down. Next we tried pan de leche and pan de bono. Both very fresh and tasty. The highlights of the meal. We also had a bandeja paisa(google it) but while pleasing to the eyes, left something to be desired. The beans seemed like they would be great but had no flavor whatsoever. The avocado was half browned and unappealing. I wouldn’t say the meal was a complete disappointment, but it really left no sort of impression on me to want to return. And for having 3 tables and a couple walk Ins, the service was incredibly slow and inattentive. Some places have off days and Meuse this was theirs. Go check it out for yourself and hopeful you ENJOY!!!

Good food. Amazing service! It is very nice and airy space, but the tables are pretty close to one another. Other than that… No problems to speak of here.

First time and certainly not last, at this lovely BYOB Columbian restaurant in Montclair. We started with the appetizer sampler, empanadas, chicarron,(pork rinds) sausage, plantains. Delicious. A basket of their signature cheese bread was also yummy. The menu is huge and has a great selection of seafood, meats, even salads and prices are quite reasonable for Montclair. We brought our own wine, but they have some fruit batidos(shakes) and fresh juices. There is a formal dining room and a smaller take out and bakery area with small tables at the entrance. The dining room has fun bistro style booths and tables, and a huge and beautiful crystal chandelier overhead. We ate dinner for over two hours with excellent service from busboy to wait staff and manager. Our entrees included grilled fish, a huge calamari salad and surf and turf platter. Sides included plantains, and refried beans. To top off a great meal their tres leches cake was the best one I’ve ever had. Make a reservation; they do get crowded on weekends. Can’t wait to come back here again soon!

Noches is a fun place to eat at and is mighty delicious. The restaurant has three(or more) televisions with sports on so you can make sure you can catch up on your fútbol as you eat your Colombian food. FOOD: I came for lunch with coworkers and got the lunch special(chicken) and yuca fries. There’s something about Colombian food, maybe the a la plancha style commonly found in Latin America, or the great use of plantains, that makes it so delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked and thinned out. The beans and rice were well-seasoned. Comes with a salad as well and ordering that much definitely brought leftovers back home for a while. Portions are large here! Overall, very cool place in Montclair. The parking situation is tight, so you will probably have to rely on street parking unless you are a lucky person to get one of a few spots on the side of the restaurant!

Horrible HORRIBLE service! Food is mediocre! Save yourself the money and disappointment and do not go to this location. There are better locations of the same restaurant in NJ. This particular location does not serve alcohol so if you are craving a Sangria don’t go here. Our server KIM sucked. I was left begging for a glass of water because non was offered to me during or before my meal. She brought me a bean soup with no spoon and took over 25 minutes to get me one. Such a miserable experience overall.

Very taste I ordered the Asadito. The steak was very tender, seasoned perfectly. Shrimp cooked nicely and the chicken is perfect. The dish can with Tostones which is a nice addition but a small plate of rice and Seasoned beans would’ve been a better addition. All in all it is a good meal for Two. I will be going back soon.

The usually have a great experience when we come here, we already have our favorite waitress. She wasn’t there today, and the three people attending to us seems to be confused or short staffed lol there was only 3 other tables at that restaurant lol We were served our food and after a while one of the waitress came to our table asked us if we touched the rice and beans she served us we said no because we were planning to take it home. She said oh good this wasn’t for your table, proceeded to take it to the other table next to us! I thought it was one of the most ridiculous things ever… we even said when she placed it on the table oh, I didn’t know this dish bring beans and rice.

Terrible place if you want to be treated well! I have not encountered a worst restaurant yet. Customer service is horrible! The staff working the phones are slow and mess up your order. The table service is rude and at times non existent! They take forever to come around, bring your food and/or check on you! I think the only thing they do well and quickly is charge you for your meal! !!not coming back here again!!! Hope this helps… P. S. it’s fair to say the food is good, and not Every single person there is bad just most of them. This review is based on several occasions/experiences at this spot.

Horrible customer service!!! This noches de colombia(montclair) has by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. From a phone order to a waitress at a table. When you order to pick up you got to explain your order five times just so they can submit it. When you go pick it up the order isn’t even correct!!! When your eating at the restaurant, it takes forever for someone to come by your table, food takes even longer, they don’t bother to check on you after you’ve been served and for some reason the staff is always bitchy. Definitely not coming around this place anymore!!!

The Montclair location is where it’s at baby! No alcohol here but there fruity fruit only Sangria is refreshing! If it’s your first time here, try any of the following. Empanadas, Chicharrones, any sampler and my all time fav — The Bandeja Piasa! All of these dishes are seasoned well and bursting with flavor. On average per person here is $ 24-$ 28 bucks. We discovered this location on a Saturday night while dining with the fam! Armed with my Unilocal app and Dexter’s review — it was a no brainier. This location is more than meets the eye! Seems small while driving by, but it opens up lovely inside. In addition, the staff is awesome and on point! Food: — Ground meat, rice and beans. — Grilled chicken with fried shrimp. — Guacamole, Chicharrones and tostones. All the above was well enjoyed. I didn’t opt in for my Piasa this time as the ground meat dish served me well. The portion was huge. I added some chimchurry sauce and it was a wrap for me — instant food coma pleasure. The grilled chicken and fried shrimp dish pleased mi lady and the guacamole, Chicharrones and tostones were devoured! When that craving for good Colombian food calls, I know we will definitely return to dine in and enjoy! Later folks and have a great time!

Trust this gringo… This is the real deal! Yes i may not have been raised on Arepa and Chicharonn, but I lived in Queens NY long enough to know who can rock a bandeja paisa. And Noches in Montclair fits the bill. The beans are thick and packed with amazing flavor. The Chicharonn is always crispy. I love this place! Prices are on point and the food brings me back to my old days of being the only gringo in my favorite restaurant, Tierres Colombianos

First time in Noches de Colombia here in Montclair , I went to the one in Clifton a couple of years ago and it was a huge disappointment but whatever back to the location in Montclair … We ordered a sampler appetizer that consisted of emphasis, chorizo and chicharron delicious and fulfilling… Bad idea to order because by the time we got our entrees we were extremely full… Portions are HUGE and prices are reasonable… Definitely will come back.

Yo it’s been a minute since I wrote a review(thank you hand injury!) but now Ima bout to make it up by blowing it up. Nah just kidding… or am I. Alright I’m done with the silliness and now right back down to business. Can I just say when Noches de Colombia opened a branch(they’re more like a bank now with all the different locations they have in NJ) in Montclair I was more than super excited. I squealed like a pig right before it was going to be roasted. I’m saying chicharron style! And speaking of chicharron it’s one of my favorite fried goodness every time I stop by a Noches place. That and an empanada together is heavenly foodgasm like no other. Anyways this restaurant in Montclair serves up an amazing array of Colombian dishes just like it’s other locations but because it’s so freakin close to where I live, I heart it even more! Dishes like the bandeja paisa – a huge plate consisting of everything your cardiologist would crap his pants when you tell him what is in it – are consistently delicious. And that’s the keyword here. Every time I have visited, the dishes that come out of the kitchen taste the way it’s supposed to taste. No hit or miss, at least from what I have experienced. So back to the bandeja dish: it’ steak, sausage, egg, chicarron, rice, plantain, potato, and for extra heart-clogging measure an avocado. Actually on second thought that might be the only thing healthy in that whole dish. Then there’s the noches sampler which has the plantain, steak, chicharron, and sausage. There’s their shrimp and steak dish and fried flounder all served in ginormous portions. Whatever you are in the mood for that day your belly will thank you regardless. It’s just an explosion of flavors and Latin goodness. But wait there’s still more. DONOT ever leave without trying their bread pudding. I took a picture of the dish but it just doesn’t do it justice. I mean the bread pudding is simply ridiculous! Warm bread pudding cake with caramel and vanilla ice cream – I mean come on people let’s not mince words here that $hit sounds as good as it tastes! Alright I’ve written enough. My hand is starting to hurt but more importantly I’m getting hungry so I guess I’m gonna go eat. I wonder where I’m going…

Our food was delicious. So incredibly good. We stopped in at 3 on Fathers Day and there was a half an hour wait. So happy we waited because it was completely worth it. The first lobby area was crowded and a bit hot, but the main dining room was very comfortable. After ordering it took a little bit of time for our food to arrive but nothing out of the ordinary(we were probably very hungry!). My father ordered the mojarra frita(fried tilapia) and I got the Mar y mar(flounder and garlic shrimp). Both were completely worth it! The crispness of the tilapia was nice and the juicy flavor of the meat was on point. The creamy wine sauce on the mar y mar was a perfect combination. Service was good for a holiday too. With all that said, I will definitely be recommending this spot and coming back soon :)

After being not so impressed by the Clifton location, I was hesitant to try this location. However, I’m happy that I ultimately decided to go to the Montclair BYOB counterpart. The appetizer sampler is a meal in itself. Sausage, chicharron, beef and tostones. 3 grown, hungry men trying to tear it apart, and I still managed to come away still relatively full. So much so that I barely had any of my entrée. Speaking of entrée, my mar y tierra salteado was decent, but not amazing. I’ve been on a lomo saltado kick, so a variation seemed interesting. It’s prepared just as described — the tomato sauce is slightly sweet. It’s not as good as the traditional Peruvian dish, but on its own, it’s quite enjoyable. The best part was they let me substitute yucca fries in! Overall, a very solid Spanish meal, although be warned that a lot of the food is fried.

Came here on a Friday night and it was packed. We had a very short wait, around 5 minutes to be seated. When first walking into the seating area the noise level was high but still cozy and comfortable. Despite how full the place was the service was great. The waitress took our orders right away and was attentive throughout our meal. I ordered the asadito(grilled platter) and it was exactly what was pictured. I liked that the menu did provide a picture for every item, but it made it that much harder to choose! The platter included grilled chicken, steak, and shrimp with tostones(fried plantain) and all of it was great. The prices are very fair for the amount of food you get. I washed it down with a passion fruit shake made with milk which was amazing, prefect amount of sweetness and consistency. Overall great food, prices, and service. Will definitely be back to enjoy again.

Despite arriving about an hour and half before closing time(they close at 11pm on Friday and Saturdays), this Noches was busy! From the outside this place doesn’t look like much. Upon entering and being seated, however, I quickly realized just how deep the restaurant actually was… good for big parties and families. We were seated and given a huge and lengthy menu. Despite the large menu, I am not convinced that Noches has a wide variety of options. The menu choices differed slightly though they were assorted by protein type(steak, chicken, fish). I settled with the churrasco with chimichurri and asked for my steak to be medium. Once it arrived it was obvious it wasn’t cooked to medium but rather medium-well, closer to well. Still it was a decent piece of meat, tasty and lean. My chimichurri sauce was missing for some reason(that’s a third of my meal!) and the french fries appear to be frozen. But don’t be fooled, the fries are addicting! I also ordered a passion fruit smoothie made with water. It wasn’t too sweet as I feared it would be but I wish it had a thicker consistency. Had a chance to try the passion fruit made with milk. Still I preferred mine to the milky version as it still lacked the consistency I like. More than likely to return to this location should I be in the mood for some quick latin food. A-Ok in my book!

In continuance of eating my way through Montclair we tried Noches de Colombia for a girls’ night. The restaurant was quite busy on a Saturday night, yet we were seated fairly quick. Our servers were attentive and anticipated our needs before we even had to ask(bringing extra spoons etc.). We were given a bowl of small potato disk-like appetizers for free. They were good, but needed a little salt for my taste. The guacamole appetizer comes with smashed plantain disks, not chips. This was a different way of having guac than I’m used to, but it was really tasty and the guac was well seasoned and fresh. I ordered the pollo saltado which was decent, but I’d probably try another dish if I return. The food is plentiful at Noches de Colombia and the price is right!
