I’ve only ever had the fried chicken which is way better than anything around town or the surrounding towns. Yummilicious!

Terrible. My order arrived 2 hours late & cold. They did not even deliver what I asked for. Never again.

The most disgusting place to eat… If I had a choice, I would give them a zero star. I am Haitian and can really appreciate the soul of my cultural food. However, after I ordering food from here, I am reluctant to order from places like this one. I should have put two and two together. There is no possible way that they would be cooking fresh food(at least that what their menu said) everyday for such a small business with very little advertisement of there location. I would not have known of this place if my friend didn’t tell me about it, and I drive that area pretty often. As I was standing and waiting for my order(he insisted that I sit and wait for him but I remained standing), I witnessed the guy go in the back grab all the food out the freezer, stick them in the microwave come out and lie to my face telling me that the food was cooked the same day(selling as freshly made). I had already paid and I ordered to go so left it at that. While at home as I was eating, I found a nice chunk of Brillo pad(the thick coil that you scrub pots with) in my food. I immediately called the restaurant, and told him what had happened, his apology was, «No one is perfect». I asked him for my money back, he refused to give it back to me. He said if I decided to visit them again he would give me a discount. In the end it, he kept my money and didn’t change food. As far as I am concerned, he could keep that 15 buck because I will never step foot in there again. In Creol language that called, «mal-prop». Meaning disgusting . Haitian food lovers, Beware…

I have eaten here twice. I love Haitian food but can’t afford to eat regularly at Saveur Creole, a local favorite. Tried this place hoping a smaller shop would bring the same quality at a lower price. I was wrong. The atmosphere in this place is its main casualty. In addition to selling creole food & regular fried chicken the shop also sells cheap cigars, perfume, condoms, Advil, and Red Bull. It’s a toxic mix that invites customers who appear to be looking for their next fix. I met one of them tonight. While I was waiting for my meal he paced in & out of the front door at least 3 times because he could not stand still to buy 1 cigar. Now onto the food: Every single sauce I’ve tasted has been delicious. And if this place was a tiny shack that only sold that black bean sauce, I’d likely go every day. The white rice however both times has been flavorless, no hint of butter or thyme added to the water to give it taste. I also tried the snapper which had been smothered in a wonderful sauce but was still too dry to gain much benefit from it. Bottom line, wait until the owner develops a real identity for his shop and focuses on selling great food. If not, the trip into this establishment isn’t worth the hassle of encountering addicts. We can only hope another Creole chef opens a small restaurant in Montclair to bring affordable Haitian cooking to Montclair.

try the Haitian Creole food! they also have fried chicken(surprise!), gyros, subs, sandwiches. primarily to-go fast food style place with a few tables. there is a TV. if you ask for yoir Haitian food spicy, be warned, it is not for amateurs., so if you prefer it not too spicy be sure to tell them that. the Haitian fried fish with plantains and beans and rice is a great dish, lots of food. the little sweet potato pies they sell, which are baked in nearby Paterson, are very good!!! btw, the old sign out front says New York Fried Chicken but then there is a banner draped above that says Creole Food so I think the official name of this business now is «Creole Food» but not sure
