Super cute, fun to visit and browse, reasonable prices (mostly), the stock rotates pretty regularly so it doesn’t get stale to have a look through, and the owner has been there sometimes when I have visited and she can help you fins anything you’ve been on the hunt for. Also, they usually have fun sales, like 20% off of anything yellow, etc. Love it!

My favorite vintage store in Montclair! All good stuff– no junk! Very reasonable prices. Lots of chairs, art, dish sets, unique pieces!

I moved to Montclair 11 years ago from the Upper Westside for the electic mix of great antique stores and restaurants. Many of those original stores have since bit the dust. The best of the «younger» vintage stores come to Montclair, I have seen is Garnish. A great merchandise mix with fair prices of early 1900s American made antiques, a perfect match for the homes in the area, As a collector, Garnish is retail therapy at it’s best. If you want something unique for your home, and don’t want to look like you copied the West Elm or Pottery Barn catalogs, Garnish is the place to go.

Super cute store full of adorable vintage nick nacks. Every time i go in here to peruse I get nostalgic about my Gram’s.
some of there stuff is a little on the pricy side but its worth rummaging around if your in search of something specific or just plain curious. helpful Friendly staff.

I wanted to check out Garnish because I was on a quest to find retro jewelry. At first I was enjoying my perusal and noticed a few items that I was considering buying. Their inventory is very scattered and they really don’t have very much, but some of their handbags were cute. I was holding a handbag that had rhinestones and beads on it, when I overheard the owner telling another customer that they do not accept credit. I didn’t have that amount in cash, so I placed the bag back where I found it and left. The store clerk immediately ran after me obnoxiously and told me to come back in the store. She was obviously under the impression that I stole it. She said «What about that tiny bag? Where is it?» I showed her that I had placed it exactly where I found it after hearing that they do not accept credit.
To me, this kind of situation is completely unacceptable and is far worse than having bad service, a fly in your food, or a late food delivery when starving. I really don’t like to be profiled and have a pet peeve to never return to a store if I feel that they are profiling me in any way.
I headed over to The Montclair Antique Center and found exactly what I was looking for; without having to be questioned or followed. Garnish will never receive my business again.

Fantastic find. I had no intention of buying a thing but couldn’t stop once I found the reasonably-​priced Mason jars, jewelry, paintings, clothes and furniture. Thankfully, I had my car so I could bring it all back to Brooklyn. You certainly won’t find prices this great or inventory this well-​sourced in my neck of the woods. The owner, Lisa, is a total sweetheart to boot.

We stumbled upon Garnish while on our way to another antique shop in town and decided to pop in and take a look. What a great find! Not only do they carry terrific pieces, but the prices are incredibly fair, especially when compared to other similar shops in Montclair. We bought four pieces of furniture that first day and got a great deal. Lisa, the owner, and Ted are incredibly nice and helpful. They held onto the furniture we bought and delivered to us the following Saturday. They helped bring everything in, even up to the second floor. We’ve been back plenty of times since and almost every time we find something great. Not only that, but when we were in the market for fireplace tools and they didn’t have what we were looking for, Lisa put us in touch with another local merchant who was able to help us out. How great is that?! We love this store. And if they don’t have it in the store, they might have it in their storage space. And if they don’t have it in their storage space, they’ll keep an eye out and let you know if they see something you might like, even if it’s not through them. A really great shop run by fabulous people.
