I loved this place. Every time I ventured out to Montauk, I had to get food from here at least once. This time around, it seems they’ve permanently shutdown(I’d like to know why). I’m saddened by this as this place had awesome food, delivered to my hotel room door and they were quick with delivery.

We went here in the off season. Food was good. Service was ok. The waiter seemed a little more interested in the TV then the patrons, but it was a slow night. I would eat here again. They were just about the only place open in Montauk. I had the General Tso’s Chicken and it was ok. My wife had the Thai rice with Chicken and she liked it. The kids had the chicken tenders and there was plenty for both of them.

I have been coming here for years, not just because they’re one of the few restaurants in town open all winter, but because their food(especially the Chinese food) is reliably good. This past weekend 14 of my friends were out in Montauk for the weekend celebrating my friend’s bachelorette party, only to find out that Shagwong’s(and several other places) were closed for renovations. Frank and Sonny from Wok and Roll took all 15 of us in at 10 pm and served us fried noodles, sake bombs, and put on music for us. It was an amazing act of kindness, and they really livened up the evening(much better than if we had ended up at Shagwongs!) They should really consider staying open and moonlighting as a bar at night, at $ 4.50 a beer, their prices are reasonable and the service is outstanding. And, again, the Chinese food is good too.

Friendly, dependable and consistent food spot. It’s what you’d expect to get at your briber hood spot in the city so this place will meet your needs when you have a craving. Soups, noodles, dumplings are all tasty. Mind you I’ve never dined in so I can’t comment on that whole experience, but every time I’ve called they have been friendly and helpful. Wok & Roll deliver which is awesome because Montauk can get crazy at times and during those times its sometimes best to stay in, call up bea and just Chinese & Chill. I guess you could watch Netflix too if you felt so inclined.

Only got delivery but Wok and Roll is the ONLY place that delivered out to our house at 10:30 on a Sunday night. Delivery was fast and I thought the food was great. We got the General Tso’s combo, moo shoo chicken very spicy(and it was!), chicken broccolo combo and chicken fried rice. Everything was great but gonna be truthful, we were all a little drunk. As everything else in the Hamptons, this place was over priced but hey, they delivered when every other place wouldn’t.

We went here after my wife spent the morning fishing. They cooked her fish to perfection à la General Tso. Highly recommended. But the other dish we tried were mediocre American-Chinese.

I’ve been here a few times to have lunch on the way to the Montauk Lighthouse. Service and food consistently gets worse. Service was lacking and the food is tasteless. They included the service charge for a party of two, I can understand given the tourist area but when we complained about the service they ignored me and pretended they did not understand! I suggest visiting other restaurants in the area.

I seriously have no idea what planet Eric is from(or what part of the back-of-the-house, I should say) but this place is a shame. 7:30pm on a Saturday night last weekend: Sushi: no flavor(rainbow roll, maki combo, Philadelphia roll — all flavorless) Miso soup: no flavor Shrimp fried Rice: so bad we sent it back Once the server kicked his attitude I actually felt bad for him. The place was clearly understaffed to the point where dishes were left out on tables for 20+ minutes before they were bussed. The appetizers came AFTER the main courses were served. Other diners at the surrounding tables expressed the same discontent as we did. None of them will be back. Neither will we. It took us 5 minutes to be seated in the half-empty restaurant(we were the only people in line.) On a positive note, it is easily accessible to the motels that are right on the water. We left feeling ripped-off($ 50 for bland food, after we asked that the $ 12 bland rice be removed from the check) with empty stomachs. We went and got pizza at the place down the block to the west where we happily filled our bellies for half the cost of the bland Chinese food.

Wow. This place blow my mind. Me And my family was here for a weekend and craving for some Chinese food. And we got here about 7:00. The staff is very friendly and came Up asked what we like. Gave us some Recommendation on the fish. The price is very fair for the portion. The place is not a palace but Is very friendly and warm. I will definitely come back again next time In montauk. Pro: good price. Nice people. Fair portion Con: very crowed in the weekend. But thatz what you get for a good Chinese resturant in a small town right? PS I heard u can bring ur own fish to ask the cook to make them. Will make sure to try that out next time in town. Overall a five star rating!

«Is there a problem, Officer?» No problem, only amateur hour. *BANG* Wok And Roll: «Chinese food, no soul food here!» But damn, they ain’t got no better food here? Every year I give this place a chance to redeem itself, but I’m done playin’. I ain’t no punk bitch. I’m here ta holla at you. Whether you«wok in» to eat there or roll by for some take-out, prepare to be disappointed. MISO disappointed. The rice wasn’t cooked. The soup was gross. The sesame chicken? Flavorless. Actually, flavorLEAST. Slightly more flavor than the eel they serve, primarily due to the fact that the eel is made out of burnt cardboard and duck sauce. Look, I’ll admit it — Chinese food can have a tendency to make you hate yourself — but that’s not supposed to happen BEFORE you overeat! Maybe it’s because they serve Chinese AND Japanese food(just imagine what Takayama and Lu Kim would say.). I have yet to find even a half-decent place that can accomplish that feat. If you’re going to be that ambitious, you should serve good food! Today, when my friend Carter asked me «ARE-YOU-ENJOYING-THE-FOODS-THAT-ARE-GOING-INTO-YOUR-MOUTH?» every part of me answered with a resounding«NO.» I guess that makes this place consistent? But that is not enough… for once, I would like to have some good Chinese food in the Hamptons — not just some greasy shit that might pass for food at 3am after some beers or a cigaweed, but at dinner time. Otherwise, what the hell is the point of eating out? I’d be better off going to China! YOUR best bet? Grand Szechuan in New York City, or Foo Chow Restaurant in Chinatown. Maybe there when they say«Wipe yo’self off,» it’ll be because you full, not dead. I mean bleeding disappointment. Wok And Roll: «What is it good for? AB-SOL-UTE-LYNO-THING! Sing it again, YOUALL!»

I wouldn’t call this place a ‘hidden gem’, but it definitely doesn’t stand out in Montauk whatsoever, especially when it’s a Chinese restaurant that is next to a sporting goods store. Oh, well, the General Tso chicken was pretty tasty, and the wontons were decent. If I could, I’d give it a 3.5.

Interesting range of reviews for this place. I guess it all has to do with what time of the year and day you eat here. An afternoon in October and we had a good experience both in service and in food quality. I do understand how the people who bring their freshly caught fish might give a higher rating. While we were there 2 separate parties came in with their fish and within 10 minutes were served large platefuls of really sweet looking crispy fish. That might be the way to go here.

Nasty staff, would never go back there again. Ordered some dumplings to go and ate them outside, they came out and gave us a dirty look and said«you clean up». Not to mention there was not 1 other customer in the place. Enough is enough with people being nasty after giving them business.

All I have to say is OMG. We caught 10 stripebass the night before and brought 10 lbs there, we did half general tso and half sesame. We had 15 people in our group, 8 adults 7 children, and the place was sooooo accommodating. The food was so good the kids thought they were eating chicken. Would recommend every fisherman to bring their catch there! Happy as a clam :-)

Where is the option for zero stars? This place had by far the worst service ive ever seen in montauk. Ive been to just about every place out here and this takes the cake. After being seated we went through a litnay of problems starting with multiple waiters who came over claiming they werent our waiter and couldnt help us. After about 10 minutes and my blood boiling we finally were able to order a round of drinks the only problem was it ended up on my lap. This was pretty much enough for me and my party to begin thinking about leaving as they were clearly incapable of serving a party of 4! Another 10 minutes pass and a sixth waiter comes over and says he needs another 5 minutes to even come and take our order. Thats when we got up and walked out. I guess i should have known that getting chinese food in a seafood town is a no go. Wok and blow

At the current moment, there is only one other review of Wok and Roll and it’s from someone who had her catch cooked there. Sounds fabulous. I’m sure it was delicious. I wish I had done that… But, I didn’t. Instead, we showed up here for a quick lunch after a fishing trip. There’s no reason to eat greasy chinese food in Montauk, as Melissa states as well. Absolutely no reason. Skip if possible. We walked in, and there was literally not a single person in the place. Not even anyone to seat us and give us menus! Not a single person! Should have been our cue to leave. But, we stayed. The wontons were plastic, the chicken and broccoli was all broccoli and the general tso’s chicken was just bad. Chinese food at the mall food court is better than this place. The host/waiter/cook/owner/busboy was plain rude. The only redeeming quality of this place was the appetizer noodles and duck sauce that you get for free while waiting for your food. Oh, and maybe the hilarious décor as well.

i never thought i’d go here(who wants greasy chinese food in a seafood town?), but after catching some fish and having two people recommend this as «THEE» place to go to have someone«cook your catch», we decided to give it a whirl. for $ 10 for the first pound, you choose the style and they cook your fish. we got the garlic sauce and general tso for our sea bass and fluke, and it was soooo impressive. absolutely delicious. we had a total of 2,7lbs of fish cooked for us, with those two styles, and hubby got a beer and i got a snapple and the total came to $ 36! cheapest place in town. =p
