Monrovia Villas

We made an appointment to take a tour of the apartments. First, we drove about 35 minutes to get there and when we do, we couldn’t find a way in. We had to wait until another car went in. Second, management wasn’t there for our appointment! We waited about 15 minutes and finally left. We called and left her a message. Third, she never returned our call to apologize or do a follow-​up or anything. They must not want new tenants!
Overall, the apartments were nice (from what we saw on the outside) but the area around there was not.

Want to live in a concrete jungle with thin floors? Want to move to a place where without notice they will close the pool and the permanently tepid hot tub for a month? Do you care if your kids cannot play ball, skate, ride a scooter anywhere? This is the spot for you!

Let me preface this by saying that Monrovia Villas has a very pretty property, and very nice clean and modern apartments. This is about all that is good about this place.
Management are an absolute mess, they do not know which way is up. I requested to have something fixed in my apartment three times and it never happened. I was told I had to vacate in order to have pest control come in, so I booked a hotel for myself my partner and our cat because we were new to the area and did not know anyone who could accommodate us for that time. We checked into the hotel and were there for 3 hours before mgmt contacted us to say that they made a mistake and made us vacate on the wrong day.
Had our water shut off five times within a few weeks, often without notice. The plumber burst in one morning without any notice and woke us both up. Had only hot water (no cold) for a few weeks before they decided to fix it…
Windows in the apartments are only single glaze, and good luck being able to sleep beyond 7am some mornings when they empty the trash — the trucks are so loud it wakes the whole community… The list goes on!
Also worth noting, there used to be a registered sex offender living here. I think he has since moved on but he was a slimey character. Everyone else is nice enough.
All in all, they ask you to pay WAYYY too much for what you get living here. Also they claim to be «pet friendly» but then ask you to pay $ 25 a month per pet to have them live with you.
