Wish I had checked the reviews before I drove all the way up here to consign 2 pairs of pricy riding boots– was met with a less than warm greeting upon entering this surprisingly small store– obviously not thrilled to see the boots we brought– after some uncomfortable back and forth it became quite clear the men, did not get his name, had little to no interest in this part of the business. When I was unwilling to leave the $ 1100 boots to be sold for «maybe $ 175 «, of which they take half, it went from uncomfortable to you might as well take them both back. I don’t know how anyone would ever shop in this store and I will be sharing this experience with others in the riding community as well as the well known tack shop that referred us here– but as the shop employee told us he really didn’t care !

Good luck getting paid if you have anything that sold there. They say checks are cut every 90 days… I must keep missing that cutoff.
Stick with eBay or Craig’s list for selling. Not worth it.

Great place to go if you’re buying, not so good when consigning. We consigned several thousand dollars worth of used and new kids riding apparel last October. To date we have only received one check for less than $ 130.00 (and then only after pestering the owner for payment). I call or stop in once a month. Last time I stopped in I spoke with Sues husband Paul, who told me a check was on its way. Three weeks later, no check…
All I will say, if you are looking for a tack consignment shop, I’d avoid this shop.

Great shop! I’ve been hearing about this place from the girls at the stable & finally got a chance to make it over. So happy I did. I was able to get a pair of excellent suede half chaps for my daughter for a fraction of what I could have online. I also «test drove» a western saddle for me. It’s a perfect fit! Going to make it official this week.
The owner was very knowledgable and just a great people person. The staff was genuinely helpful — excellent customer service! They’ve earned my business.

Not a huge selection but great customer service and amazing deals for the constant looker. This is a well connected place for those who seek to get on the horse’s back and ride into the woods of Connecticut and Westchester County even. I was impressed and didn’t think such a small place could pack such a punch for results.
