Absolutely love this store. The checkers are always so friendly and knowledgeable. I only shop here in Monroe for groceries.

As with most Safeways this place is poorly managed. 4 checkers with at least 8 people in line at each. I knew this going in so my own fault. Never ever go to a Safeway without a self check. Also, having a Monopoly game that slows the process just shows how completely idiotic the management is.

I really enjoy everything at this store and yes the lines are often long, but people don’t realize that this is a chain reaction, no shoppers no money for more staff… I do also believe that the staff is happy working there, everyone is very attentive… Pharmacy very helpful and knowledgeable. They also try their vest to save you every possible penny on your prescription. They are trying to bring more organic products at a competitive price, I hope they keep bringing more options. I do my best to support local stores any not the Wal-Mart monster. :-) another great perk is the gas points you get form shopping there. I iftwr save a few until I get $.50 off per gallon.

The checkouts are miserable — never enough checkers, no self-checkout and it is impossible to get through the too-narrow aisle with everyone lined up waiting to checkout. Take the time to keep driving to Fred Meyer or Walmart — it will be faster in the end. And if Safeway and Albertson’s need a tip for which stores to close — pick this one — please!

Warning! I am a couponer and encounter A LOT of rude checkers because of it. But NOT here! I was a faithful Albertsons shopper but when they switched to Haggen I moved to Safeway. I absolutely love this store! Everyone that works there seems to enjoy their job and that says a lot about a place. :-)

Hadn’t been to safeway for a long time, they had a ad for foster farms fresh whole chickens .88¢ per pound so I bought 4 today, bought a fresh banana cream pie from the bakery too. Well, when I got home and started removing skin and fat from the chickens and preparing for the freezer I realized they had been frozen– still were inside and far from fresh! On top of that I just went for a piece of the fresh from the bakery pie and it’s frozen too! How deceitful! Really, the new walmart is nicer, fresh means fresh there(not in the process of thawing) and the prices are better.

So frustrating! I usually get asked if I want help taking out my bags. Mind you an adult with 2 bags doesn’t need help. My daughter with a toddler and twin babies doesn’t get out much but both time she has gone into this store they haven’t offer help to take her bags to the car. Can’t believe they aren’t extending this courtesy to her or be mindful of helping her be safe in their lot!

Since the Walmart has opened up they have almost doubled their prices. Food quality has gone downhill — watered bacon, fat in the meat, produce is not fresh, etc. Bakery costs skyrocketed. $ 9 cake now costs $ 18 Very disappointed — been shopping @ Safeway for decades. I see people who WORK @Safeway shopping @ other stores. Never thought I’d stop shopping there.

Yesterday was the last day that I will ever step foot in the Monroe Safeway store again. There are never enough checkers. At 5:30 in the evening they need to have more than three checkers(two regular and one express) to accommodate the after work shoppers. I picked up ice cream as the last item on my list and got in line. I live(literally)1 mile from the store and by the time I got home the ice cream was partially melted. I also had a horrible experience with the pharmacy department. I addressed the situation with the pharmacist and found her to be rude and condescending. I plan to follow up outside this company as I believe my HIPPA rights were completely violated. Get it together Safeway before you lose even more customers.

Has anybody that works here ever heard of an express lane? They’re there for a reason!!!

Friendly cashiers, clean, great selection and really like the Just 4 U savings. Although Safeway needs to stop creating my favorite store as the only place I get my specials. I should get those specials at any store I shop.

Clean store, great customer service, and the store must have read the earlier reviews on long lines complaints because we always are able to find a line with one person in front of us in line. :)

First thing is, be ready to wait in line. I can spend more time in line then I have shopping. I don’t understand why this Safeway has this problem, none of the near by stores do. The slap in the face is when I see the manager and another clerk hanging out and not helping the customers check out. Be mindful that your customers have busy lives and would like to get on with them. Produce. We’ll I picture the buyers being last in line at the market hoping to pickup a great deal on the leftovers, because the quality is really bad. I don’t care if it’s on sale it’s still bad. I do most of my shopping at FM, but for some reason my BF likes the deli meat at Safeway better than FM.

Lines suck!!! 2 stands open, 1 of which was an express lane. People are tired of waiting in line, open more stands. There were probably 20 people waiting in line… I know I’m definitely not the only person in town who has seen this happen.
