The worst experience I’ve ever had. I bought a 10 lap drive yourself experience for my dad for Christmas. I booked for Oct. 11th and they cancelled without a reason. My dad flew all the way from Hawaii and we rented a car and drove all the way there to find out it was cancelled after we were driving around and around trying to find the check in.(I know they cancel for weather reasons sometimes however, if I could attach a photo of the beautiful blue sky I would.) I highly recommend you don’t pay for this or fly out of your way, I just wasted a thousand dollars. Worst part of all my dad was so excited to finally get to check an item off his bucket list, he even went and had a racing shirt made special for the event.

Do not purchase laps from the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience. Just don’t. Recently as a birthday gift I purchased a few laps at Evergreen Speedway for the roommate. It was to be a fun birthday experience. However, when we got to the event we were told it was canceled due to weather. «There was standing water on the track» we were told. Since it had not rained no such water was actual on the track when we looked. So today I called the RWRE up and asked if I could get my money back. I was told no, you may not. They do not give money back for weather cancelations, it is policy. I pointed out that the next opportunity was Oct 9th-11th and it rains in October in the Pacific Northwest — so that will likely get canceled too. That will push us to next April or June. They told me that we could reschedule again if that was the case. This was all very polite — but frustrating. I had looked up the weather for Monroe on June 19th, 2015(the day of the event) There was no rain. 0.00 precipitation was measured. Basically they can cancel for any reason, call it weather and you are screwed. I pointed this out, and asked to speak to a manager. This is where it gets weird. The manager told me the track was soaked. I said it wasn’t, I was there. He told me it must have dried up when I saw it. Which begged the question — why cancel? I asked if he was there. He said no. I quoted NOAA’s weather report. «The policy is the policy is the policy.» I pointed out that he was creating a horrible customer experience. He answer was something akin to «that’s racing.» I have not given up. I know phone calls are only the first channel of customer dissatisfaction. Email. Letters. Have been written. I will get my money back. It is now a quest. Thank you for allowing me to vent. Much better.

It’s fun if you don’t mind being yelled at during the whole experience! The people you deal with before the experience and who you deal with while driving are entirely different! They give you a crappy ear piece and yell in your ear the whole time and you can’t understand what they are saying and WILL kick you off if you don’t do exactly what they say! I was kicked off after 5 laps with NO warning and my buddy was kicked off after 10 laps after being warned once for driving too fast. Don’t expect to go fast during evey lap either. There are 4 cars on the track at once, If you come up behind a slow car you have to stay behind them, no passing until you get the OK, which is why I was kicked off. I wanted to pass and just moved to the right without passing(my mistake) and that’s all it took for them to end my day. No warning, just a «You are done! «. The spotters will call you by your car number when you’re driving and you need to know that they are talking to YOU when you hear your number. The guy teaching the class said people don’t always know their car number and don’t listen to the spotter. The car my other buddy was driving had a different number on the dash than what was on the side of the car! How did they not know this? Very unorganized! The four of us asked for the video recording and none of us got it. They had a racing event planned for that evening and cancelled the group behind us at the last minute after they sat though the class and were waiting to drive. They drove from Canada for this! You would think they would have had the courtesy to reschedule them weeks before! I won’t be back.

The Rusty Wallace race experience is the most fun I have ever had, hands down. I highly recommend it. If you go on Groupon its only $ 149 for 10 laps(best $ 150 bucks iv spent) but I highly recommend buying more laps. They offer insurance for $ 60… When I go again I will not be getting this. You are responsible for the car, but if you can follow basic instructions and are not the world’s worst driver you should put that money twords more laps. With exception of one staff member(and he was the crew boss, in the sun all day, and we were the last group) the staff are cool. So When you go… And you should… If you are last and its hot and you are near the last group, cut them some slack. All in all, this will be a yearly event for me!

This was a little intimidating, a little scary and a lot of fun. It took a couple laps in the car to shake off the initial nerves, but when it ended, I was ready for 20 more laps… Really fun, and really a great experience. The people running the event were great, the equipment was good and the cars were FAST.

Fun, fun, fun! I received a 10 lap solo drive session as a birthday present. The class took place at the South Sound Speedway in Rochester, not at the race track in Monroe. All the folks at the Rusty Wallace Experience were friendly and fun. A couple of the cars had some minor issues, but cars break. I’m sure these cars probably get the bejeezus beat out of them from inexperienced drivers like myself mashing the loud pedal to the floor and hanging on for dear life. The staff were good about switching out cars with issues and getting people into different cars. This is something every red blooded American person should do at least once.

This was an awesome experience. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who thinks they might want to try it. I didn’t give it 5 stars because they forgot to put in my video chip for two laps and then I had a hard time hearing what car number the spotter was talking to.
