Ouachita Parish Public Library

Whenever I move to a new city, I simply MUST investigate their local libraries.
And so far, Monroe’s library on 1800 Stubbs Ave. is a great literary home away from home!
They have an extensive collection on pretty much any topic you’d enjoy, but they don’t have every author out there. I was looking for some Drew Karpyshyn and found nothing. SAD FACE. I suppose it is, however, rather unfair to expect a local library to possess a work from literally evey author known to man.
Also, I have never seen a more extensive DVD collection in any library. They have so many television shows, it’s almost unreal!
The staff is very friendly and very open to any questions you have. You never have to wait long for someone to help you at the Information desk.
They also host fun events for the community like fall carnivals! I even went to a Doctor Who party there once and the room was packed! Good to see we have a large Whovian population!
