The service was beyond dysfunctional. After waiting for nearly 70 minutes for our food, we(a party of four) saw two other parties who were seated AFTER us get their orders taken before us, and their food was taken to them WAY before us. Ridiculous. This place and its aesthetics wear out its welcome after this kind of service. As I am writing this, the same people who sat before us are getting their check for the food they already finished eating, and we haven’t eaten yet. Won’t be coming back. I don’t think I have ever received such poor service at a restaurant in my life.

This place’s ambiance is very charming. If you have all the time in the world to laze about waiting for good food, then go here. It took a long time to receive our order of breakfast items which take less than ten minutes to serve up at the same table under the same check. When I finally started twisting around in my chair and looking for wait staff, they finally started to get the message that we still hadn’t been served beyond water and coffee. When I come to a wonderful venue like this, I’m obviously not after«fast food» like you’d get at some crappy chain restaurant anywhere along Highway 2. But well over a half hour for pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash-browns, and English muffins, in a small space like this? I ordered their version of Eggs Benedict and it came out with Hollandaise Sauce that was almost cold on top of tepid poached eggs and a well toasted muffin. It had obviously been sitting around cooling off while they finished my friend’s dish. I will tell you this, though — it was still tasty, which says much about their recipes. Execution here was a fail but the food itself was good enough that I’d give it a second shot. Maybe they needed some extra help in the kitchen that day or somebody called off. My recommendation: if they appear too busy, walk on by, for now, and try someplace else. But if they are not, I suspect the issues we had might not be something you’d experience and you could have a very, very good meal.

Excellent café in Monroe! And the food is much better than the previous café that was here. Good size portions, fresh, great coffee(with good creamers!) and superb friendly service!

After a long hike at Wallace Falls we stopped here for a late lunch. We all decided on breakfast and the portions were huge! My son had the lumberjack which had 3 huge pancakes, meat, eggs and could easily be shared! This café is everything a small town care should be! The murals on the wall are beautiful! Highly recommend!

Went in today for our Sunday ritual Brunch. The place was busy as usual but was able to get a table without waiting. Our waitress was very prompt taking out order and bringing our drink order. Our order came fairly quickly and as usual it was Awesome, eggs were cooked perfectly as was everything else. We come here on a regular basis and always have great service and Delicious food. The staff is very courteous and love the«Homey» feel this place has. Best Chicken Fried Steak around, just saying.

We went into the Main St café after walking up to the Wallace Falls, so we were pretty hungry. I ordered the Meat Lovers Scramble, which came with a biscuit. I ate the whole plate, which was a bit much to do, but it hit the spot. My wife had the vegetarian sandwich and enjoyed that. They were really pushing the prime rip dip sandwich, but I wasn’t feeling up for that. I am sure it would have been great. Overall I was happy/content that I went there for lunch/brunch. Very friendly service and the food was great. Nothing fancy, basic and good.

Cozy little café. Ordered the chicken fried steak, b&g, eggs and hash browns. Food was great. Burnt bottom of biscuits but waitress offered to remake. No need, they were still good. Really good organic apple juice. Our waitress, JP, was Awesome. Very friendly customer service. We will be back!

Great food, great atmosphere, and great hospitality. I’ve been a few times now, with and without the kids, and enjoyed the service most of all! Coffee was always full and Jen and Amanda are wonderful! Did I mention that the food was great to? Keep up the great work ladies!

This reviews is based on service only because we left without eating — to be fair they were packed but even after two tables left and were cleaned we didn’t get seated. We finally got our table and requested water, declining the offer for coffee. Five minutes later the same girl comes by to offer us coffee… to which we replied«No thanks… STILL just water*. Then we waited while a server, who turned out to be ours, chatted with a couple who had finished eating. After another several minutes we just got up and left… still never getting out water or being waited. on. A bit of customer service training might be in order…

I am posting an initial review of this café to let people know that the hours they post don’t seem to mean anything. I was really looking forward to trying this place today and found them closed at 3:45 despite many signs saying they are open 6:00am-4:30pm every day. No note on the door explaining the closure. A real disappointment.

I have been here a few times. The Ruben was great! Love the JoJo fries. The omelet was not my favorite but I asked to substitute something and they were very nice about it. The service is great, gals are friendly food has been good. I had the biscuits and gravy twice. I will go again. Plus my kid loves the pancakes and lemonade!

Went here for breakfast. Had the bacon florentine omelet. Really good, we also had some Choco pancakes for the kids. also very good. The service staff was great. Very attentive and great attitudes despite our 2 year old being a terrorist. I’d like to see some better coffee here. it was pretty bland.

Friendly staff. Other than that cannot recommend. It boggles my mind that I’ve heard good things about the food. I got pancakes that were half cooked half burnt. Nasty. Hubby got biscuits and gravy… Biscuit was a rock and gravy was… I tasted it and felt like i was going to puke. Hashbrowns tasted like whatever had been cooked on the flat top prior. Major bummer since we were looking forward to a hometown café.

Very friendly and good spirited staff, accommodated our seating request with no fuss. They seem to be right on top of greeting and seating the customers. We had a very short wait for a table. The menu has a good selection of breakfast items as well as lunch, but mainly a breakfasty type eatery. The taco omelette sounds interesting, might come back for that. I ordered the Diet Special, ham three eggs cottage cheese and tomato slices. Good meal, good price. Easy street parking out front.
