I was in your tinley park location today. I asked for a table, dispite the 4 empty tables near the door, I was told I had to wait for a table to be cleaned. I waited, not terribly long. I was seated. I over heard another table complaining that they had been waiting a long time for their food. Tempted to leave I figured I would wait because I will just watch my iPhone and I have no plans. However I waited, and waited, and waited and 15 minutes latter I left without a waitress/waiter even greeting me or taking my drink order. Now, had they all been busting their butt running around working, I would probably been more sympathetic, but they were not. A few were running, but there were several that kept congregating near the front counter. So u lost my business. I will not be back

As usual the beer was good. Tribes brews all shined and the food was well prepared. Our server, Lilly, knows her beers and is fantastic in many, many ways

This is definitely a good spot for food and drinks! The whiskey list is extensive and so is the craft beer menu. Their burgers are delicious and so is the Mac and cheese!

Great selection of independent brews, I suggest the Ol’Bender. The food was also fantastic. The only negative would be a bit slow service, however she was very polite and helpful.

Stopped by for a visit which was convenient to friends in the area. Yes, it’s in a strip mall, but they did a lot of work on the interior to make it feel like a «brewpub». Tables are close yet cozy, bathrooms are clean but a little stark. Beer selection crosses most palates, if you like hops, malts, sours, fruits, you’re sure to find something. I had no problem sticking with Tribes’ Sapphire Sky Saison while I also tried my wife’s How’s Your Father ESB… which was also well-made, to-style and sessionable. Food was pretty darn good for«pub-grub». I had the Muffalleta which was a meaty, savory, salty heart-attack in a sandwich(exactly as I expected)! My wife had the Chicken Vesuvio which she enjoyed. I had leftovers the next day and they were on-point… well seasoned, plenty of gravy and potatoes which were tender and succulent. Our guests enjoyed their Lobster Roll and another Muffalleta. Story-short… a nice place for above-average food and beer. However, if I’m going to compare apples to apples, I’d recommend Tribes Tinley(10 miles, ~15 minutes NE) which has equally good food and selection, but a more breathable atmosphere with a staffed, outdoor patio.

Yum!!! Just had the Grilled Cheese & Tomato— the sandwich was crunchy & gooey all at the same time. And the tomato dipper sauce was INSANELYGOOD!!! Service was phenomenal!!! Lilly was amazing– gave us lots of guidance when choosing a beer and hooked us up with extra tomato dipper sauce for our leftovers! She was funny, friendly and a great server. Ask to sit in her section… you won’t be sorry!

Came in last night to meet my brother and sister for a drink. The place was slow by your standards. The place looked very clean and every employee greated me with a smile. Both bartenders were great. The beer selection has lessened and let me down a bit. To many tribes taps. You can’t possibly brew that many top notch beers. Even the best breweries in town only do a handful of there best. I did two flights of tribes only and I may have liked one or two. My sister and I liked the Big Twin but it was just ok. The digital menus stink. Again all the best in town use paper menus. It’s time consuming and wasteful but paper is just better. The stuffed avocados taste like throw up. Tons of Bleu cheese and buffalo sauce is not a good combo. No tomato like the menu said. I hate to say it but they were terrible. I had not been in awhile. It has changed a bit. And I haven’t been off the toilet all day. Dunno if it was the beer or the avacado dish. Bad news.

I’m giving it four stars because the place is so dedicated to beer lovers and our server, Michele was attentive and very pleasant. The burger was supposed to be something they are known for, but I’ve had better. It was still above average, but the meat wasn’t the best burger meat I’ve ever had.(On a scale from 1 to 5 with 5 being the best, I’d give it a 3.5 or 4.) Maybe it would have tasted better if I was able to wash it down with a few of their many beers, but I was there at lunch and still working. The coworker I was with said the fish was excellent. I’m sure I’ll be back for their beers. I’d even go back just for their desserts!

This place is empty 430 on a Sunday. They seated us right by front door, freezing cold. Would not put us at a different table. Had to leave. Had looked forward to trying this place. O well I’m sure there’s better service down the road.

My fiancé loves their selection of beers — we always get the sampler to try new things. Their food is always very delicious. Never a long wait when we go. We do typically avoid peak dinner times though. Service is always very friendly and prompt.

The lobster roll was excellent, not usually something I see on menus around here. I was really impressed on the wait time for a Friday night, only had to wait about 30 min. but was expecting more because it is always packed. Will definitely be back!

My family loves Tribes! This is our go to place for dinner. The food is great and beer is good. However since the addition and readdition to the restaurant I find myself going to the Tinley location because the Mokena location feels too cramped and the atmosphere has changed because of it. The bar area is good but like I said I go with my family so we always eat on the restaurant side.

Love this place, especially since it’s so close to home. The food is good(try the bison burger — pig and goat), the service is good and the beer is great(just a few too many IPAs for my liking). Definitely recommend.

3 people at lunch on a Saturday with a bill of $ 135 less tip. Service was terrible. A near empty restaurant and it took 15 minutes to get a beer as the bartender was chatting it up with the hostess sitting at the bar and disregarded the orders our waitress placed with him. The deep fried appetizers were dripping with oil presumably due to the deep fryer not being hot enough. I asked for the manager who really did nothing and did not even agree that the bartender was wrong in his actions. I am known as a very positive person and my reviews are almost always four or five stars but I was frustrated and angry at the casual attitude from the bartender, waitress, and manager towards our group. All agreed that we will never visit this restaurant again.

Had to wait 35 – 45 minutes to sit down on a Friday night around 8 p.m. party of 2. We’ll worth the wait! The food was epic! I really enjoyed the Lobster Mac & cheese and portobello mushroom tacos. Moscow mules served in a copper mug, we’ll copper looking on the outside. Better than a clear plastic glass.

I never give poor ratings on service, but VERY unhappy customer here. I was so excited to try based on reviews and photos of other Unilocalers. Food was good, but completely wrong and chaotic. Even though the waitress was truly friendly, she had no sense of making amends for ridiculous errors & taking care of the customer. I ordered French Onion soup. Waitress brought my burger and said«Oh I forgot your soup. I’m so sorry». BUT she never brought a soup after that. Lol I ordered the brunch burger(bacon, fried egg, cheddar) on «original» bun. It came on a pretzel bun. I tried it(a bite) and didn’t like it. I ordered waffle fries as the side. Cole slaw came instead.(Huh?) Waitress took plate back and came with burger on correct bun, and waffle fries. BUT burger and toppings were just transferred from old sandwich she took back. Which is not the end of the world, but I took a bite already, and«broke the yolk» on the first burger. As yucky as it sounds… when you’re an «egg on the burger» person, you **Want** the yolk running on your sandwich. Instead my new burger was dry and a disappointment. Lastly, the check was brought with no discount etc. Which I never look for, but based on above information… I felt some kind of credit was fair & I was expecting one. **Overall, Major letdown of an experience for me.

VERYSLOWSERVICE. Maybe because it was Saturday afternoon. But fries were cold as if they were laying around for a few hours. Only way I would return is if it is not busy, or We are only customers. Took 20 minutes for glass of water.

My husband and I visit Tribes often, have never been disappointed. The jerk chicken is fantastic, the sandwiches are very tasty with wonderful ingredients. Actually, it’s always difficult for me to decide what I wish to order because everything is so good. For the most part, I enjoy all of the craft beers I have ordered, I would sure like to see more Nut Browns, Pale Ales, Belgians and Reds. The menu is a little heavy on the IPA’s. I never leave disappointed though! Nice bar, too! Tribes also brews their own beers. Our servers and bartenders are very friendly and we enjoy the occasional chat with them. Looking forward to Oyster Fest in February!

It is quite unfortunate that this place is not closer to home. My husband and I decided to take the hour trip to this brewery because it had such great reviews. We were not disappointed! Service was great, beer was delicious and food was amazing. We overly stuffed ourselves with the cheese curds, beer cheese dip and the burger with beef ribs! They practically had to roll us out the door! All the food had great flavor, and arrived promptly. We also chose to enjoy some of their beers. My husband chose a Tribes taster while I dove right in to the 0 – 100 which was awesome. I chose the blood orange big twin beer for my second round which was actually even better than the 0 – 100! Very impressed! They have great specials including half priced growlers on Saturday from 11 – 1. Great deal! I absolutely recommend this place for anyone in the area or those willing to make there way over! It is well worth the trip!

We’ve been here twice and have had a great experience both times. Each time we have been here, most recently on a Monday evening for dinner, the place has been packed and we’ve had to wait(happily) for no longer than 15 minutes or so. The only issue we had on our most recent visit was that my wife’s order came to the table wrong — close but not quite what she ordered. The waitress, once informed of the error, was extremely apologetic and offered multiple times to replace the plate with the correct order. Really, the only issue was that the baked mac n cheese had lobster in it, and she hadn’t ordered it with lobster — so really, a win for her. We were not charged extra for the error, and I am assuming they located the patron who received the order with no lobster and fixed that as well. Great in-house beer selection. If you decide to get one of the zip-up hoodies, be aware they run a little small. I got an XL, which is usually a tad big, but comfortable. It’s a bit more form-fitting than I’m used to, but that’s my fault for not trying it on at the table before we left. My only complaint is that they’re not located a bit closer to home. Our local watering hole’s beer has recently gone downhill and this would be an excellent go-to if they were a bit closer.

I’ve been here a few times. This was the first time I sat in the restaurant area for a quick lunch on Sunday. Service very slow. We all ordered burgers medium, all were burnt. We weren’t even going to ask to have them remade because of how long it took in the first place. No mention of comping any of our bill. No manager to come by and apologize. Tinley location has similar poor service in the seated area. We took our daughter, never again. The ONLY way my wife and I eat here is seated at the bar at the Tinley location when we have no time restrictions. We have gotten to know the guys that work that bar. I realize that there are many positive reviews, but the few times we have sat in the dining area, the service has been so awful. The food, when cooked correctly, is descent. I feel there are other places to go with better service and just as good, if not better, beer selection.

Great beer, great food, creative menu, wonderful service. Well worth it. From the beer to the food you can tell they put thought into their concept. I am a big«home cooked» fan and wont eat out if I can do better at home. And this restaurant makes me want to go out. The service reflects the vision as well. The staff is relaxed, friendly and fun. Great restaurant!

Definitely a good atmosphere for trying all kinds of craft beer and some of your old favorites. Good food items. They expanded so there is a little more legroom these days, which I think is nice. However, it is still very homey, comfortable and a great place to hang and talk with friends over drinks and dinner, or whatever your flavor.

Very good food. To many IPA’S on the beer menu for my taste. Could use a few more lagers and maybe a few more Amber’s but I guess you go with what’s most popular. Service is decent but usually a little slow. That’s ok I guess. Sometimes in a hurry though and a little more attention to detail would be nice. Overall we’ve had good experiences and will continue to return.

I want to give Tribes five stars but I just can’t. The food is great and the beer list is amazing. The issue I have is that although the wait staff is attentive the food is so slow to come out. On more than one occasion we had our appetizer come out with our dinner. If they could fix that this hands down would be one of my top choices.

Tribes is one of our favorite places to relax and enjoy great Food, Drink and Service. The beer selection is fabulous and Tribes Own Craft Brews are superb — you must try them. Tribes has unique, high quality appetizers and a great selection of specialty spirits as well. It’s one of the very few places that we can order and enjoy Emil Stimple Bourbon from Frankfort Spirits Distillery. Whether it’s after a game, celebrating with old friends or just dropping in on the way home from work, the Tribes crew always takes good care of us and leaves us wanting to stop back in soon. Keep up the great work.

The server provided excellent service for great food on our visit! It can be difficult to satisfy my palate, especially my wife. The bison and beef burgers were not only cooked just right, but the food was good. Both of my daughters had high marks for the chicken wing appetizer and the Beef with Wisconsin Cheddar. Both the server and the kitchen get high marks, as we arrived 10 minutes before the kitchen closed. Her demeanor was pleasant and no pressure was applied to quickly order. Although my wife is picky and selective with drinks, the server offered to accommodate my wife’s taste buds with samples. Eventually, she found an ale that suited her. As always, my cola with light ice and free refills was perfect. According to my wife, «I can go back there!» Give Tribes a try in Mokena or Tinley Park!

Today’s fat kid problems brought to you by the delicious eats at Tribes. You know when you bring your lunch to work, and it’s leftovers from last night’s dinner out… and it’s sitting in the fridge, calling your name from the moment you clock in until the moment you give in and eat your lunch an hour earlier than normal? That. I just ate the remaining two Korean short rib tacos from dinner last night and ohmahgod YUM. Then there’s the moment when you tell your boyfriend he shouldn’t finish his burger and take it home instead, knowing full well he never eats leftover burgers… but you do. This may be the moment you have a problem. Except you don’t because you just got half his bur-UNCH-ger for your breakfast which was delicious. So that too. All these leftovers? Because the portions at Tribes are pretty stellar, and when you combine them with apps and hearty beers, you get leftovers. We had the beer and cheddar dip and cheese curds to start(you know how I feel about cheese, y’all). And once all the pretzel bread and pita are gone — what’s a girl to do with the cheese dip? Hug it like a teddy bear until the tater tots arrive next to your tacos.(Even if you don’t order the cheese dip as an app, I recommend getting it for your tots.) The beer menu is rockin’ with several stouts and porters to wet my whistle(and those other beers you people like too). I need to go back and eat all the appetizers on the menu, the mac and cheese and so. much. more.

Great food, great beer and good people. I really enjoy Tribes, its only downfall is it is too busy! Great problem to have right? I would recommend this restaurant and tap house to anyone. It is truly a gem in the burbs! They tap a different keg of the good stuff once a week. If you are a beer guy(or gal) pay attention to their listed keg tappings because if its a good one it will disappear fast!
