I bought a new toro from here this year. The salesman who I spoke with was not pushy at all. I feel he truly wanted me to get the best mower to fit my needs. While talking with him he explained to me that they take trade in. I told him my old mower was in rather rough condition he sad that didn’t matter I quickly ran home and grabbed my old mower. To my surprise when I got back he offered me $ 50! Wow!!! With the $ 50 instant rebate and my trade in I got a brand new toro for $ 100 off! I went back a few weeks later to with an old stihl chainsaw to be fixed he had it back to me in 4 days and explained everything that was wrong with it. This place comes highly recommended me 10 out of 10 in my book.

If I had the option I would only give half star. I, m in complete agreement with the majority of negative posts, particularly with the rude attitude of the owner and his counter help wife. On one occasion back in 2011 I dropped off a generator for repair, returned for it, only to be told it was missing(WTF?) and on another occasion I was stupid enough to give him another try, only to be treated like dirt when I tried getting my mower repaired under warranty(they will always find a way to charge you). I would AND will drive 50 extra miles just to stay clear of this guys business.

What can I say about these guys. I’ve been a customer of theirs for about 5 – 6 years. Service has always been great and above board. I just purchased my Toro 50″ Zero Turn from them and what a great experience. It was ready when I called, they explained everything to me and off I went. As far as my service experience I have bought a few chain saws from them and when tune up time comes, the price and turn around is great. I noticed the old owner must have retired and the young man that was his technician has taken over. Nice to see this in the business world. Kudo’s to him, when I picked up my Toro(by the way it was less than the big box stores and I have a place to service it). I watched this new young owner handle a host of weekend do it your selfers, asking how do you take this bolt out and how do you change your oil because I can’t get the filter off. All of which had bought discount parts(elsewhere) and wanted free advise when they were in trouble. Once again, kudo’s for your professional service and patients you had with these people. Best of luck to this young man and I’ll recommend him highly. I have a very large Auto facilty that has a on going customer satisfaction index of 99%, so I can recognize good honest servce. I bring it to them, because I dont have time to be fixing small engines. I’d rather take it to a professional

I have heard stories about J&R sales in the past. Since then(about May 2014) the old owner retired and and a younger, much more helpful gentleman purchased the business. I have been going there for years and have had no problems with the service or equipment they sell. The new owner is very knowledgeable and very helpful. He’s extremely friendly and so is the new staff that work there. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking to purchase any lawn equipment or to get anything serviced. It’s an A+++ in my book!

I purchased a brand new trimmer from J&R Sales and Service. It came with a 4 year warranty. The first time I went to use it, after about 60 pulls it wouldn’t start. I took it back immediately and the owner took it in the back and said it started on the first pull, and I probably flooded it. The next 2 times I wanted to use it, it took at least 40 pulls to start. Frustrated, I took it back and said I wanted it repaired under the warranty. After 2 weeks, I called for status and they said it has been ready for a week. To my surprise, I was told it would be $ 32 for the service call. I questioned the bill and was told that it had old bad gas in it. The receipt said bad gas and adjusted the carburetor. The reality of the situation is that the gas that was in the tank was put in by them. The lady behind the counter just shrugged her shoulders and said bad gas isn’t covered. I’ve been going to J&R for the last 8 years for service, but never again.

The owner of this business lacks people skills. I Dropped my Toro lawnmower off for repairs because it was taking 15 to 20 pulls to get it to start, I informed Mr. J&R himself, it appears it’s not getting spark or contact is not being made possibly because of the rubber plug(Known as a boot) which gets attached to the spark plug. I told him it looks to be old and worn after 10 years and for him to replace it if needed. After 7 days they called saying it was ready for pick-up. I got it home and after approximately 10 pulls it started, halfway from completing the grass the lawnmower backfired and shut down. Note: The receipt I received revealed the governor control was adjusted for some reason. I Dropped if off again explaining it’s not starting and now since the governor control was adjusted it backfires and stops running all together. After not hearing from Mr. J&R for three days, I called him and all he said was it’s ready for pickup. At the shop when I asked what was found wrong with it, he rudely answered saying nothing was wrong the spark plug boot came off and he took a pliers and crimped it on tighter. I informed Mr. J&R I’ve owned Toro lawnmowers for over 35 years and never heard of the rubber boot just falling off the spark plug, and he turned his back away from me and while walking into another room said«THAT’S THEWAYITGOES» So after a total of losing the use of my lawnmower for 10 days, and having to borrow one, I now have it back and will again attempt to cut my lawn. The moral of this story is, I believe if Mr. J&R an alleged certified Toro dealer and repair service would have taken my advise regarding the fact I mentioned when I first dropped it off that the spark plug(Rubber boot) appeared old and worn, maybe I wouldn’t be having all these problems in the first place! He’s the so called expert in this field!!!
