Holy cow best Greek food I have had in a while or possibly ever. Everything we ordered was great I didn’t want to leave. I would eat this place everyday if I lived here. The service was perfect as well, which is hard with a big group of people. We had a party of ten and they handled us perfectly. I wish I could have taken pictures of all the food but most of us were too eager to eat. Hats off to this place everyone should try this place if possible.

I visited this restaurant last weekend. Very nice atmosphere and setting. A true gem of Modesto. The service was not overbearing, cordial, and just right. The food was absolutely PHENOMENAL. One of my favorite central valley restaurants, hands down. We started with the Mushroom Pitas, which were better than any spanakopita or variant I have ever tried. For entrees we ordered the Grilled Vegetable Pasta, and the Vegetable Kabab(I can’t remember the actual menu title for this one). Both were outstanding. Great quality, not overdone on sauces. I am telling you, if you love Mediterranean/Greek food, or want to try it out give this place a try!!!

We love Papapavlos! The ambiance is nice, the food is fresh and excellent and the service is really good. We’ve been many times to each of their locations and always have a good experience. They also have great wines. I love the fish and the fresh salads. Others of our family love the meat dishes, casseroles and pastas. Never a bad meal.

I used to think I didn’t like Greek food. Then I ate here and realized I’d just never had good Greek food. Everything I’ve ordered so far has been outstanding. The waiters are friendly, professional, and make sure they everything is right. This is one of my favorite places to go, for lunch or dinner.

Absolutely top notch service, delicious food, nice ambiance, and reasonable prices. This place has it all! The greek salad was divine, as well as their Papapavlos combo. Generous, tasty portions. We had the best server. Very attentive and genuinely friendly. He is what sold us on this restaurant. Hands down. We will definitely be back.

Go here if you want proper service, good food, and a nice place to relax. I did go prior to dinner time on a Tuesday, bare in mind. Our waiter, goatee guy, was AWESOME! Appropriate in timing from beginning in to end. Pre-bussed table, kept us breaded(haha), drinks topped. Food was awesome. Gyros plate, Fish Brochettes and Chicken Brochettes(plates) were ordered for mom, dad and I. No complaints, good portions. Honestly, the waiter was the best take away. It’s hard finding good service in the Central Valley as compared to other places, so I appreciate this a lot.

My family hosted a baby shower on 9÷12÷14 for about 35 people. We began planning months before and manager, Juan, was very helpful. There were no hidden fees for bringing our own cupcakes, beverages, air conditioning etc. When the day of the shower came we were allowed to come early to decorate and the tables were placed just as we asked for. The service was excellent. Three servers attended to our every need. Helped move gifts and pack up decorations. The food was delicious. Many guests had never eaten there and commented they would come back. We were so excited that the outcome was so perfect. I wanted to thank all who helped us. It was a wonderful shower for my first grandchild !!!

Excellent service. Considering the location in a strip mall, the ambience was acceptable and would recommend this restaurant to any one who wants good Greek food. It’s not like back east but it’s pretty close. The saganaki was good and presented with an OPA! as it should be. The spanikopita was yummy. The moussaka was good as well.

Delicious. Started with bruschetta which was so full of flavor, followed by the creamy chicken lemon soup, and the Mediterranean Chicken Pasta. It was so much food and all the right flavors but i will say the pasta was a bit too much pesto. I couldn’t resist and tried the cheese cake and it was great. To say the least I was so full! Kirstie our waitress was knowledgable, friendly and very attentive. I will def come back and try another one of their dishes. Great ambiance, clean establishment and all staff on hand were very friendly.

Lamb chops were great. Very well marinated and cooked. I also ordered the cheese ravioli with Alfredo sauce and grilled chicken, which was yummy! And the fresh pita bread!!! Great service too!

The servers were incredibly kind to me and my father when we went last Saturday. The pita bread is to DIE for! My dad ordered a plate of lamb and I got the chicken pesto pizza. When we were in the middle of eating, the head chef comes over with more lamb, saying that he feared that he didn’t put enough on my dad’s plate. That’s how you know that the staff cares for their customers! Our waitress was very kind and polite to us. When she came back from the kitchen after we had asked for more pita bread, she told us that the pita bread was getting cold, so she requested more pita bread to be made. Once again, the staff really does care for their customers. Loved the ambiance, except they were playing New Orleans-style funk on the speakers. I would have preferred Greek music… That isn’t too bad, especially since the customer service and the quality of the food were phenomenal. A big thank you to the staff for being so wonderful.

I have been eating at Papas for almost 2 decades. Upon arriving for my last visit I checked in with the hostess as we had a reservation. She couldn’t find it but said she would seat me. Apparently she put me at a regulars table so the working manager and staff death glared me as I waited for the rest of my party. I dream about their fried cheese and pita but I was in Easter weekend and ordered the halibut that was on special… I literally couldn’t eat it. It had clearly gone bad. Super disappointed! I don’t live in Stockton anymore so going there is usually a treat.

This is my second visit to the Modest Papapavlos. My usual stop is the Stockton location. Outstanding service, great wine list and the food is very good. The chops at either location are outstanding.

Totally love this place. Awesome food. A bit pricey but worth it. The wait staff is always informative and very, very nice. When we go it is a treat since it is out of the way. Get the flaming cheese as an appetizer. You won’t regret it.

My absolute favorite restaurant and food! I’ve never had a bad experience with them. Their food is incredible and the experience is excellent. The Mediterranean Pasta with chicken, olives, and sun-dried tomatoes is my most ordered dish. Their steak and chicken kabobs with rice pilaf, green beans and carrots are amazing. I love all fresh vegetables and eat them daily. But i can’t put my finger on what makes their simple yet perfect green beans and carrots soooo good. And the pita bread, well that needs no explanation.

Elegant, yet attire can be as casual as you like. The ambient music is lively, but not loud and obnoxious. I can talk at a normal level and be heard. Our server Maria was excellent! She was not too intrusive during our meal, and at all times my water was never empty and neither was the pita bread basket. She alone gets 5 stars for service! I hardly noticed that she was present when she quickly filled my glass! So first to start was the crab cakes. These are your pure and simple crab cake. Not a lot of additives to add or take away from the crab. I love crab and enjoyed these! Pita bread was tasty but some of the bread was slightly hard, possibly a result of being at the end of the night, 8:45 pm when I had entered and after a long day at work it’s was nice to see people willing to serve you despite the late entry. Seafood saffron was tasty, but you must like seafood! It has shrimp, the tiny bay shrimp, scallops, mussels, and clams. So when my Fiancé said it was fishy, I thought perhaps the saffron brought out the seafood flavor. I liked it! Scallops were cooked as they should be. The shrimp was slightly overcooked, only slightly though. With all the different meats I guess it’s impossible to cook each meat to perfection. The clams and mussels weren’t too chewy. Gyros plate was good, I have not had decent gyros in a long time, so it was nice to have some good ones for a change! The yogurt/dill/cucumber dip added to the gyros as they should. Rice pilaf was palatable, not too much flavor and it actually complimented the gyros. Green beans were quite tasty, cooked well, but not soggy. If you like crisp, these are a little more well done than that. Overall the excellent impressive service made this a 4 star experience!
