Lobby Bar at the Doubletree Modesto

There is a female bartender (Lee?) who is very friendly. The food is hit or miss. I’ve had some good meals and I’ve had some so-​so meals. The wine by the glass program isn’t great considering the access to good wine in the area and the number of wine industry professionals who stay at this hotel.

I don’t know if I have bad luck or what but this is the second time I have been in a hotel bar and gotten bad service. This time I at least got my drink but that was as far as it got. I asked for a menu, got it, and then sat for 15 minutes before anyone asked if I wanted to order food. Meanwhile, 3 other people who sat after me got served beverages and had their orders taken. The girl behind the counter just ignored me. When the other bartender got back he eventually got around to asking if I wanted to order. I told him that I did 10 minutes ago and now I’ll just take my check. Their loss, I was enjoying the game and would have ordered a few more beers with my meal…
2 stars cause he was at least nice. She gets 1 star only cause they don’t allow you to give 0.

Great service and awesome staff! Very friendly and professional. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stop by for a relaxing time. Live musicians n Tuesday afternoons! Best hotel in town.

Had a great experience at this bar. The lady bartender was nice and friendly. The drinks were great and the bar food was great as well. Nothing negative to say. This bar made my stay at this hotel even better.

My Cosmos were very good. The seats were comfortable. The bartender was friendly, and I enjoyed the company of friends.
A small town touch added to the experience. I could hear the music coming from the room next door, people in interesting Halloween costumes were running in and out. All this excitement was a benefit for Roller Derby. Does Modesto have a team or to they want their own team? I did not know Roller Derby still was around!

Good hotel bar — plenty of comfortable seating & televisions. They offer a few good wines, but no vanilla vodka. The bartender, Lee, is my favorite. She’s always friendly & quick with the service. The hotel café food menu is also available in the bar, but for no apparent reason, they charge a dollar or so more for the same items offered in the café.

Whenever I stay at the Doubletree in Modesto, I stop here before retiring. I read a book, a magazine, or do some sudoku while having beer, followed by wine and sparkling water. The lounge was renovated earlier this year. The wonderful bartendress Donna is still there. She’s a gem. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that some other patrons apparently ordered from the «food menu». All of a sudden I was assaulted by a smell of fish. It reminded me of a school cafeteria fish stick smell. It turned out to be the calamari. Eek!
At least tnhe smell vanished quickly. Or my brain just adjusted to the smell!
