owned by the san francisco public utilities commission for underground drinking water pipeline from yosemite to SF. power lines run overhead. city of modesto has an easement for a walking trail. runs from sisk road behind sizzlers northeast to near pelandale and mchenry. connects to a couple parks along the way. a 6 foot wide asphalt path in good condition. trees here and there. no other landscaping. a few homeless people encamped. a fair amount of trash here and there. it runs along people’s back yards so there are no eyes on the space. i can see how somebody wouldn’t want to walk it alone, but i dont think it’s dangerous. it has potential to become a really nice amenity if it was better maintained and marketed. fresno has a similar trail running along a power line easement and it is much nicer.
