Classically independent, solar-​powered and all volunteer. Does it get any better than that? Huge fan of Keith G’s Sunday morning ‘Jah Morning’ reggae show. Listen online every week.

I support independent radio stations and this one is a gem. It’s claim to fame is as the first wind powered radio station. Run solely by volunteers, they offer a wide variety of programming, from death metal to swing and also informational/​educational programming. They also broadcast city council meetings.

. My favorite show is The Sound Lair, particularly Morbid Mondays (the first Monday of the month). What a great station — and they give back to the local community.
