An excellent place to have lunch! Every time I´ve been here the service is excellent, and the food is even better! I will go here for lunch at least once a week if I lived near to it, but since I go all the way from Monterrey, Mx. I don´t get to go there as often! Great place and I would recommend it to anyone that loves Phở!

The food was great, but I’m not giving them 5 stars, because it took over an hour to get our food. There were two tables who sat down at least 15 mins after we did, and they got their food first. It was ridiculously busy, and they seemed to be short on staff yet one of their only two servers still had time to hang out with his buddies who had gone there to eat. I will not visit again.

We are from California so when we came to visit my parents here in the Rio Grande Valley area we missed the diversity of food, especially Vietnamese food. We happened to have been in Mcallen and looked up Asian food on Unilocal and to my surprise Phở Le Lai had great reviews. We drove over there and were very surprised to have found excellent food, even better than California’s. Both times we’ve been here, it has been almost a full restaurant and only one waitress in the evening and one waiter during lunch but it was worth the wait. Just one suggestion, «Please wash your lettuce. «My mother ordered a dish that has a large piece of lettuce under the actual food which had visible dirt on it. Hoping the rest of the vegetables are washed.

We found this restaurant using Unilocal. While it had mixed reviews most were good reviews. This was our first visit to a Vietnamese restaurant since since We visited the one in Visalia. The food here exceeded all our expectations. The Phở was prepared exactly as it should have been. The service was excellent. The food arrived quickly and was steaming hot. We will definitely be back. 20 Jan 2016 — We have been back to this restaurant at least 3 times since the original posting. Every time service and the quality of the food continues to be excellent.

I recently moved from Miami and was in desperate need to find Phở. This is an hour drive for me but I will do it again. Service was ok. My waiter was pleasant, but he kept having to apologizing for the wait, saying they were out of plates. It took longer to eat than I would have hoped, considering I’d been a car for an hour. As for the food, it was excellent. I ordered summer rolls and the Phở Bac Biet. The ingredients fresh and tasted great. I will say the price is on the high side. I spent $ 20, including tip, on my meal(I dined alone), back home I would have paid half that amount. All in all I will return to get my phở fix.

I was going to move down to this area, but things didn’t quite work out, but this place was one bright spot on my month long sojourn here… I came here about three weeks ago, ordered the basic Phở with Beef and Tripe and what not. The meat was ok, but the broth was amazingly weak and actually was underseasoned. So I actually for the first time in years, used the seasoning provided on the table. I was back there two days ago with my buddy. I ordered the Seafood soup, this time the broth was very very good, the different meats were quite tasty and provided a nice combination of different textures and tastes. I have only ordered the Ice coffee before and nothing else, but based on those two dishes, I would have to say this place is probably one of the best Vietnamese places in the area!!! Becareful of the coffee, I had it around 3, ended up not sleeping till 8 the next morning, but partly it was because of other factors that had me so jazzed up!!!

I ordered one of the beef phở soups, #1 on their menu. It cost, with tip, $ 11.19. The noodles in American phở soups are different than those they make in Vietnam, specifically Hanoi, the city with the best phở in the world. The American noodles are not quite as delicate, and, if I remember correctly, the Hanoi noodles are flat. These today were round. But the taste was very close to the phở I loved in Vietnam. It’s served with greens, bamboo shoots, and lime. Lovely. There was a lot of meat in my bowl and tons of noodles. I’d order this dish again, and I’ll go back and try some other items on their menu.

Everything at the small humble restaurant is incredible. The spring rolls were packed full of vegetables and the peanut sauce with them was so good I put it on everything! I loved The phở too. The rice noodles were cooked perfectly! The only way to improve this meal would be if they offered beer! Thank you to the awesome cooks!

Alright, so after several times coming back here, I have to change the rating that I gave them. First of, the price is still higher than I’d normally pay for Vietnamese food. The food still takes a lil while to come out. However, they are irresistible. I came to that conclusion tonight after fueling myself with more than enough booze, not enough decent food the last few days. I was in desperate need to carb up or at least eat some decent food. My appetite has been gone the same time I realized I like booze more than food at this point. So if I was gonna force feed myself, I need to find at least something I love. So phở it is! Phở Le Lai to be exact! It was way out of my way, but I didn’t mind. That’s when I really realized I’m in love with Phở Le Lai… Secondly, the service there is always on point. One of the servers almost always remembers what I want, since I get the same thing every time. They are always friendly, upbeat, extremely prompt. The kind of attitude that you can only find at Starbucks where the baristas have inhaled and drunk too much coffee that they’re always in good mood and hyper. It’s extremely rare to get this good of customer service at an Asian restaurant, especially Vietnamese. On the other hand, the cook and possibly also the owner, is not that friendly at all. Good thing I never had to deal with him. Only seen his borderline straight/grumpy face whenever he goes to the front to get a drink. Last but not least, the very few food items I have tried here have been very good. They definitely don’t skim on the vegetable, which I reallyyyy appreciate. The restaurant is small, but very nice and clean. This really is as good as it can get down here in the valley. Until next time Phở Le Lai!

I have lived in Southern California for over 10 years. Recently moved here. So I know Vietnamese food and I tried the Phở here. Not bad at all. The broth needs more flavor but o eat all it’s a decent stop. Not a lot down here, so I would come back.

If I ever live here and crave Vietnamese food, this is the place to go… I had the phở tai nam(i always get it). My mom’s phở is always the best, but this place hit the spot for my cravings. The phở is enough for two people since theres only one size… I ate only half of the bowl… I think they should work on their bbq pork dish… the meat they serve is poor quality. The meat was so thin… Maybe I am just spoiled since I grew up on these dishes at home… But the people here deserves good quality Vietnamese dishes!!! The egg rolls were good also, just missing some veggies in it like carrots, cabbage, and chinese glass noodles! Warning*** they put basil in their noodle dishes and usually we don’t do that… bc it will leave a weird taste. My bf’s mom kept saying her bbq chicken noodle dish tasted weird and we figured out that it was the basil in it!

Excellent food and service. So surprise to find a great bowl of phở in the area. I highly recommend this place. The portions are big. My wife had the Pad Thai and it was delicious. Be sure to try out the bqq pork summer rolls. We’ll be coming back for sure.
