I’m never really a fan of ice cream, but when I do crave for ice cream I come here because it is convenient for me since I live up the hill. I was really excited to try their cookie sandwiches because I was really craving for it, but I was disappointed to see that they had to pull it out of the refrigerator instead of putting it together. I really wanted it so I was like why not and got two because they only had two kinds. They were $ 5 each for small ice cream cookie sandwiches. As predicted, it was rock hard and tasteless. But I couldnt let these $ 5 rocks go to a waste so I just ate them. Besides that, their ice cream is just okay. I’d rather go to Toscaninis for gelato. I also tried their coffee and I’m definitely not impressed. You’re better off going to Stop and Shop next door to get a tub of delicious ice cream and cookies.

Always satisfied with my milkshakes or ice cream. The coffee could always get better but this is an ice cream place not a coffee joint.

Went there today a while ago at around 9:10 after dinner, very bad customer service. I asked for a hot chocolate, the man behind the counter(had tatoos on his arms) said that they have closed the machine and that i should go to 7⁄11 across the street, they might give a coffee for free. There were 3 – 4 servers, all were laughing. I hate it, wont return for sure. Rude and pathetic staff!

Definitely a place to grab some ice cream or a shake to go! Not really great atmosphere inside because it’s always packed, and the screaming children make me wanna leave anyway lol. I highly recommend their hot chocolate in the colder months. I’m obsessed. I always get it with silk instead of regular milk and it’s still amazing. They also have a lot a flavors so try it out!

I was mostly just blown away by the excellent customer service mostly served by Thomas(I think that was his name). I was with a rather large party near closing time, he served us and in the most kind of ways pointed out the time without rushing us. The ice cream was pretty good, but a little pricey for my taste. I recommend the coffee :)

JP Licks and Boston go hand in hand. They have several locations throughout the city and are well-known for their delicious ice cream flavors. This location particular is close to my friend’s apartment(which is so so dangerous). We stopped by after dinner to grab ourselves some dessert. The inside is bright, colorful and inviting. When I spoke to the staff they were also really friendly and let me taste several flavors before committing. In the end I decided on their Coffee Cookies and Cream & their Chocolate Brownie Batter. They were both very rich flavors and I got just enough cookies/brownie pieces in each bite.(Glad they didn’t skimp out.) The bases are creamy yet the flavors manage to stand out. Overall, JP Licks offers a nice wide variety of classic and unique combinations. Oh, and their small size is actually quite big so I hope you have an appetite!
Such a cute place with great flavors! I enjoyed their rum raisin one a lot– def recommend it!

THISREVIEWISFORTHEIRCOFFEE/BEVERAGES: 5 star goes to their hot chocolate. It really is the best. I don’t know what they put in it, but it’s definitely not watered down, doesn’t taste like store-bought packaging. It’s just good. Get it with soy. It’s better. 2 stars go to all their other coffee drinks. I keep coming back to give them chances, but I just don’t like it. Iced Vietnamese Coffee: No good. I’m from LA, and I miss legitimate Vietnamese Coffee(Lee’s Sandwich, if you know what I mean) and this Vietnamese coffee is not the same. I saw the girl make it. It was just their ice brewed coffee with some condensed milk and it didn’t taste the same. It was so disappointing. Hot Mocha: disappointing cup of bitterness. It’s pretty bitter. It tastes like I ordered an americano. You’d think with the delicious hot chocolate mixture + shot of expresso, it’d taste like hot chocolate+coffee, it doesn’t. And it made me sad. Iced Vanilla Latte: it tasted watered down and also more on the bitter end. I guess if you like coffee that’s on the bitter end, JP Licks might work for you. But I have more of a sweet tooth(i don’t like it super sweet, but the flavors should definitely be there). And their drinks keep disappointing me everytime. EXCEPT the hot chocolate.

This place is perfect. It’s super cute. A little pricey, but well worth it. I tried their affogato and it was simply maaarvelous! Needless to say, their white chocolate lattes are one of thee most strongest ones i’ve ever had. I bought one on a night that I was drunk off my bum, and ordered one cuz I had a craving for coffee… sobered up within minutes. I was like damn mamí, Can you like, NOT kill my trill? I had many things here actually. I had their Fruitatta smoothie, which was DELICIOUS. Got mango raspberry. Definitely recommend(its non-dairy). I unfortunately didnt get to try their hot chocolate, which is what they are known for, but if i come back to boston, I will be returning to JP Licks.

It’s dangerous how close I live to this J.P. Licks, and I’ll be the first to admit that I have no shame coming here once a week. #sorryimnotsorry This J.P. Licks is like any other — incredible selection of classic, unique, and all-around delicious flavors of high quality ice-cream, wonderful employees that make you love this treat even more, and a product cost that won’t break the bank. J.P. Licks is such a Boston staple, and I’m so glad I can share it with everyone who comes to visit me. I mean, a dessert option for guests is a no-brainer when you have an ideal provider within walking distance! The only reason I can’t give this location five stars because the tidiness of this store is something to be desired. I’m not saying it’s dirty, but I’d rather walk back up the hill to my apartment than relax and eat my ice-cream here. If the cleanliness improves, I promise I’ll be back to give this J.P. Licks that missing star!

Perfect, my apt is 5 second away. Going to camp out here to study for final soon with a hot chocolate in my hand. Anyways, I’m not a stranger to JP Licks as my school is within a stone throw away, remembering on those depressing post exam days, we would go get some ice cream to cheer ourselves up. I have 3 more years of Uni so I will continue to come here. I like this location especially since everyone have been nice and helpful. I had ordered $ 300 worth of Ice cream for my club and the manager was very thorough and help me a great deal with the budget. We got so much ice cream, my hand nearly break from carrying it! I love the pineapple and coconut when they have it in the summer, anything with pineapple or coconut is gold. Also love their ice cream float, just got one an hour ago and finished it so quick I couldn’t take a picture. Really love the place, so glad to be so close by :)

Locally handmade ice cream and café with tasty flavors including vegan options. Also offers Sherbert, sorbet, and frozen yogurt. Food: 1. Coconut almond lace(vegan) ice cream: This is the perfect coconut meets almond combination. There’s chips of almonds and even while almonds through the coconut flavor for a cool texture. 2. Tahitian vanilla: classic, good old-fashion vanilla is always refreshing. I wouldn’t change anything about it. Customer Service: Friendly and personable. They genuinely care about the customer and the service they offer. Ambience: Welcoming with a friendly ice cream parlor feel. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Some people study here, some catch up with friends. Overall I would recommend. Great service and delicious ice cream flavors.

Best Ice Cream in Town. If you are only really going to do one thing, you’d better do it well. Lucky for us, JP Licks does ice cream like a champ. Offering an incredible number of always-available flavors with variety of monthly choices, you’re never at a loss for something new or something reliable at JP Licks. Stand-out flavors include coffee oreo, oreo cake batter, cookie dough, and salty caramel. A word about salty caramel… it’s the best ice cream I have ever had. I wish they would make it a regular flavor. Lucky for me it seems to pop up every few months. It has generous amounts of real smooth salty sweet caramel mixed in. Offering a variety of sizes, the servings are pretty good sizes. There are probably cheaper places to get ice cream but prices are not too bad and the quality is top-notch. I strongly suggest enrolling in their frequent buyer program(Cow Card) because you get free ice cream from time to time(including a free sundae on your birthday!). Coffee at JP Licks is pretty good too!

Oatmeal Cookie Fro-Yo. Try it and change your life forever. Lots of different offerings: fro-yo, non-dairy, tart yogurt(like Berry Line), and regular creamy full-fat ice cream. But you don’t need any of that, because you’ve already chosen Oatmeal Cookie Fro-Yo. Small is $ 4. Parking situation is «good luck finding parking.» Two stars for these reasons, although luckily other locations are better with parking(not prices) and they also have… Oatmeal Cookie Fro-Yo.

Great ice cream, good location, nice atmosphere! I took one star off because I don’t find this location to be as cozy as the one in J.P., but it is really very nice. The people behind the counter are always good, too. Plus, it’s right by the T, and I can do my grocery shopping at Stop & Shop afterwards!

JP Licks was recommended as one of the best ice creams places in Boston, so I had high expectations. I was pleasantly surprised that they have a lot of non-dairy offerings, such as a variety of sorbet/sherbet flavors, soy ice cream, as well as a specifically dairy-free vanilla ice cream, which I got. The most important and difficult element of non-dairy frozen treats is definitely the texture, and I’m happy to say that my cup of vanilla was nice and gooey, not icy or watery as other attempts tend to be. It also did not taste strongly of coconut or soy, so I wonder how they make it – maybe just Lactaid instead of milk? Perfect refreshing treat for a peaceful sunny day strolling through the streets of the city. Only con is a tad pricey, with a small cup amounting to $ 4.25.
