Destin Yarn Shop

So happy to have visited this wonderful LYS while in PCB. Carol was so helpful and enthusiastic about fiber craft. I was invited to «test drive» the new KP Nova Platina needles and was thrilled with their buttery smooth quickness while stitching. Prices are reasonable. I WILL BE BACK!!! Beautiful tidy yarn offerings as well as a plentiful tool and accessories section. I found a much needed circular needle organizer and size markers. My 91 y/​o aunt accompanied me and was treated so nicely as she is not a knitter but purchased some cards. Thank you Carol for such a welcoming and pleasant experience!!!

Destin yarn shop is my go-​to for yarn! I absolutely love Carol. She has always been so sweet and good to me and my family every time we go in. I HIGHLY recommend coming here :)

Great selection of unique and interesting yarns. Carol has a keen eye for fashion and crafting. It is very well organized even though it’s not large. There is a lot to look at, and I especially like the samples. Often yarn shops have few samples, small swatches and it just isn’t inspiring. This is not the case here. I vacationed in Pensacola and this shop was 100% worth the drive to see.

I recently moved into the area and was in desperate need for a warm LYS atmosphere. So I drifted into Destin Yarn, hoping to have a chance to meet some other yarnies. Upon walking in, you see a giant table to the left, two comfy armchairs to the right and yarn all around! Carol, the owner, was very kind and showed me the store. It’s not huge, but she carries a wonderful selection of hand-​spun, hand-​dyed and cottons. Carol even took the time to explain the «knit scene» in the area and gave me a list of knitting get-​togethers. For example, on Thursday afternoons they have a knit night which is filled with lovely ladies who enjoyed sharing their stories and showing me their projects. I’m really pleased with the store and the people it attracts. It’s just the type of LYS I was looking for! Can’t wait for next Thursday!

Love this place, such beautiful fabric! I love all things that shimmer and shine. When people think of fabric they think of Chaz. I can’t wait to make my sewing machine sing! The hills are alive with the sound of Fabric!!! I will be back

This is such a gem find while on vacation. Very good selection of yarns I love. The woman who owns this is really friendly and kind without being pushy. I will definitely be back here next time I’m in the area!

Having flown into the North panhandle to spend a couple weeks with my sweetie, I ran out of yarn. So he insisted we find a yarn store where I could replenish for my remaining week here.
Yarn Shop has a very tidy and friendly environment with a ton of selection. The proprietor was welcoming and helpful.
I grabbed her solo Noro skein and waited out the rain, admiring the samples around the store and resisting temptation to buy a road project.
I’ll be glad to give her my future business the next time I visit.

This is a very customer friendly shop with a good selection of quality yarns. Carol, the owner, is very helpful and friendly. If she doesn’t have it, she’ll get it for you at quite decent prices for the quality of products. We go there when we make our annual snowbird trip to Destin and my wife gets supplies for her current crochet project. We also enjoy interacting with the local ladies who shop and do group sessions there. Just a fun and functional place!

The shop owner treats clients poorly. They don’t stand behind their recommendations. I would avoid this business unless you are Desperate..

I visit Destin maybe once or twice a year, and I always make a point to visit the local yarn shops. It’s a highlight of my trip since I always save up to make a vacation yarn splurge. Sadly one closed this past year, so I was extra excited to visit Destin Yarns to feed my vacation stash. She is always friendly and usually has a great selection. I’m not a needy shopper as I typically gravitate immediately toward what I’m looking for. Yesterday as I visited this store, the owner was visiting with two other customers. I shopped around for 15 min or so, made my selections and was thrilled as they had exactly what I was looking for. They really do have a great selection. The problem is this: I waited as the counter for no less than 15 – 20 min. The owner was so engrossed in a conversation about the other yarn store that closed and the wares she inherited from their demise that she could not tear herself away to come to the register and ring me up. I ended up leaving my stash on the counter, walked right past the now seated conversation, and did not even get an acknowledgement on the way out the door.
It was a really good stash, maybe a $ 150 – 200 sale. But I left without it, and I won’t go back. Not only was the conversation in bad taste, it was seriously bad business. I can always order online… Or stop in Birmingham on the way home.

This is the best stocked LYS on the Emerald Coast (I should know, I’ve visited each and every one from P-​cola to P C Beach)!
I adore this shop. The owner is super helpful in answering questions about products or patterns. (I even saw someone walk in having problems with a stitch using a yarn they didn’t purchase there, but the owner still helped.) I’ve called asking their hours and the owner offered to stay 30 mins past closing for me.
They don’t offer any local spun or dyed yarns, but you can find yummy, soft wools from almost any manufacturer.

What a great shop!!! Huge variety of yarn and fibers (with an emphasis on light weight) and beautifully displayed. The owner is very helpful and it’s always fun to visit. She makes you laugh while she gives great advise. Definite stop for all crafters. Lots of easy projects while on vacation. Can’t wait till the Destin Sea Shawl kit is ready! Great prices too! Gotta get there.

Enjoyed this yarn shop. The lady who runs the place is very nice and extremely helpful. Bought some lovely yarns that I couldn’t get at my local shop. Prices seemed on par with other yarn shops.
She’s moving soon so keep an eye out for a new address.
