Have to eat my words. The instructions for getting in and wifi information was in my wife’s junk mail folder. Nice hotel that is managed nicely. Very comfortable and quaint. Its pricey but you have to consider we are at Vail.

I love this place so much — I can’t even believe that I’m writing a review. I would certainly consider it a «local secret» due to the proximity to world-class skiing, luxurious feel and affordable prices. These are three phrases that do not make it into one sentence describing lodging in Eagle County, Colorado. I COULD stop there because that says it all … but I’ll keep going for you Lodging Seeker. I drove up from Denver to ski the biggest storm of the winter and was desperate for lodging close to Vail(1÷31÷14). Road conditions on I-70 were horrible that night and I was extremely happy to hear hotel manager Bec tell me that she had a room available for the night. The room far exceeded my expectations, even though I had already seen pictures of the hotel and had fallen in love. This property is extremely well built, incredibly comfortable and simply adorable! King size, down bed(all for me!). Check in/check out is a breeze. Coffee and tea in your room. Cool stuff to read on the table. I honestly can’t wait to have the fortunate opportunity to stay there again. As a matter of fact, I would love to live there year round — it would be a dream come true.

Looking to spend a weekend in the mountains for our anniversary, but wanting to avoid the over the top charges of nearby Vail, we found Hotel Minturn. It’s located five minutes from Vail Village in the cute, rustic town of Minturn. While it’s a hotel by name, it feels very much like you’re renting a private apartment in the mountains. There’s no front desk or lobby and there are only 4 rooms in the 4-story building, which means the rooms are quite big. You’re given a code to the doors and lock-box and are then free to come and go as you please. If you’re familiar with airbnb, it feels like that, but the hotel is nearly brand new, the rooms are very clean and modern, and the king-size bed is seriously comfortable. We never saw or heard a single person in the Hotel during our stay — it felt like our home away from home. The location was really perfect for what we were looking for. We could see the mountains from our bed(we booked the premier room), there was a coffee shop directly across the street(and a Keurig in our room), a short walk to hiking trails, and just a quick drive to the heart of Vail and Beaver Creek. If you’re staying for longer than a few days or during the winter, you may appreciate that the premier room has a mini-kitchen with a sink, microwave, and mini-fridge. Free Wi-Fi, free cable, free parking. The next time we’re in the mountains, we will definitely be staying here again!
