Sports Authority

I was greeted on entry and left to browse on my own, as I prefer. Although there are some suspended signs none of them really give you a good idea of where anything is. You have to walk around to even find the section you are looking for. Great if you want to just mums around the store, bad if you are looking for something specific.
The racks — oh the racks… it seemed like it had been three sales since an employee neatened up the racks. Sizes were not sorted, even on the full price racks. It never surprises me when clearance racks are gone over, but searching for a large took great effort and time. By a couple of the racks there were pieces of broken plastic hanger that crunched when I walked on them. If I had not been wearing decent shoes with thick soles I would not have been surprised to have a piece penetrate the sole of my shoes.
Non-​sale prices were at list. Sale prices did not seem all that good. All in all it seemed rather vacant — only saw two employees and one other customer, granted it was a weekday. It would not surprise me to see this location close after the holiday season. Understaffing and poor maintenance of merchandise are not good indicators.
I would only return to this store if I was looking for a certain item and it was on sale.

The selection seems to be a bit more hit or miss than I’d like in a store of this size. But, the assistants tend to be pretty helpful and polite (unlike Dicks down the road, where the help tends to be more snooty than helpful). The workout clothing selection tends to be good and up-​to-​date (again, not as deep as some other joints, but good enough). And prices are good too, but don’t hesitate to look for a coupon because you’ll likely find one without much work (including right here on Unilocal!).
