When it comes to tennis gear and getting my racquets restrung, I would much rather support the little guy than the big guy. So this place is already winning points for not being Lifetime Fitness or Dick’s Sporting Goods. I came in and was very non-specific about what I wanted for my new strings, but they handled it just fine, slapped on some decent ones and I was good to go. The guy who I usually see inside(who I assume is the owner) is very nice and had the racquets done within a few days. There’s a free lot next to Shop in the City for the whole set of businesses, plus street parking is easy nearby. Also — bonus — larger-than-life tennis balls in the window. Always a good time.

Good place. I always get balls, shoes, and my racquets restrung here. It’s nice to have a local tennis shop that not in Timbuktu like Michael Lynn’s in the Miracle Mile. Not that there’s anything wrong with Michael Lynn’s. Look for the fall sale. Shoes and everything else always go on a super-low price sale. Kevin has been in charge of this place for as long as I can remember. Keep it up!

I didn’t know the store was closing at 6. Not until I arrived at 6:02 and saw the«We’re closed» sign and schedule on the front door. Well, I made my way over here, I might as well do some window shopping, I thought. The guy inside sees me looking in and is nice enough to let me in to look around. It turns out he’s the owner of the place. He was super nice. I ended up buying a pair of new shoes at a great price. And I felt really good about my patronage to this cute little store.
