This may be my new favorite place to get work done. Fun atmosphere, but not so busy that you can’t work. Love the big garage doors that let you feel like you’re sitting outside while still being off the street. Well done!

I’ve been here twice in the past few days, once during the day to work and have some coffee, and once in the evening for dinner. The space is really nice — it’s a long and shallow room with big garage doors that open onto a pretty street and let in a lot of great light and warmth from outside. The coffee and pastries are good, and the wifi is fast. It’s a great place to sit and work on a nice day. It’s less effective, but still pretty good, as a dinner place. They had two beers on tap when we were there, but both were hoppy styles. They were affordably priced, which was a nice surprise. Decent options in bottles too. The sandwiches were very, very good, but very, very small for the price being asked. I had the Cuban sandwich — it wsa $ 9.50 for about five mouthfuls of food. It came on delicious bread, but it was just much, much too small. My wife’s turkey sandwich was better, but still not big enough for the price. We left happy with the quality of the food, but still very hungry. I’ll be back to drink coffee, eat pastries, and work, but unless they increase the size of the portions so people don’t leave hungry, I’ll look elsewhere at mealtime.

I was a bit apprehensive about this place. A combo wine bar and coffee shop? Weeeird. As it turns out, it’s a pretty good idea! The food options are standard coffee/lunch joint including baked goods, soups, salads, and sandwiches. My fresh turkey and tomato sandwich was everything I hoped for and more. It was one of the best simple sandwiches I’d had in a long time. My friend loved her Studio 2 Egg Sandwich to the point where I thought she was gonna end up marrying it. They have the standard brunch drinks available as well as wine, beer, and all your coffee drink options. The cold press is good stuff! There’s also free water available. Order at the counter and they’ll bring your food to you. It has a utilitarian feel with a cozy corner with couches tucked away. Someone else mentioned it was a good place to work, but also noisy. This is accurate. Bring headphones or sit outside, because it is loud up in this joint. Lots of people from the ‘hood seem to come here to hang out and chat. I wouldn’t come here to read. The patio seating is plentiful and gets a lot of direct sunlight on the side of the building if that’s your jam. The seats in front are more shaded. Options! You can get in some good people watching on the street, as the neighborhood is fairly busy. It seemed understaffed when I was there on a Sunday around noon, which left me waiting in line for at least fifteen minutes while the one barista scampered around trying to take orders and make coffee while the one cook was constantly making sandwiches. It’s probably far more pleasant during the off hours.

Sitting at a table with the garage door windows open — it felt as close to a vacation as I think I can get within 5 minutes of my house. I am definitely a fan!

The food was OK, we had waffles cold press and a orange pelligrino. It was about 25 dollars. I had to carry 2waters a coffee, the juice and glass of ice out to the table along with the food number and cream. No one offered to help or get the door or lone me a tray. Also no one really cared if we needed anything or liked our food. We didn’t know if we were supposed to bus our own tables. It has a definite coffee shop vibe, instead of a restaurant. The sitting out side was the BESY part of the place.

Great ambiance. Wonderful options for food, coffee, wine and beer. Only had soup and tea. But I will be back for a full entrée and coffee! Comfortable, open seating with personable and attentive counter service. Great local art! Just go here.

Exactly what we were looking for. Fresh, simple ingredients, put together in a healthy way; not to mention good coffee and an inviting environment.

Ive frequented a lot of coffee shops in the twin cities and the second i walked into this one it was a treat. It only got better from there. The coffee drinks and the food is great, and the atmosphere and staff is friendly too. I always get a ton of work accomplished here.

I am always on the lookout for places like this. Studio 2 is great because it is a quaint coffee shop with lots of food options — soups, salads, sandwiches, flatbreads and sweets(not to mention made from scratch). I love to study and work at coffee shops where I can also have lunch, and this is just that kind of place. I had a cup of their tomato basil soup, kale salad with brussel sprouts, and a vanilla latte, each of which were nothing short of delicious. They also have a breakfast menu. Music is great; not too loud so you can hear your own thoughts and work, but just enough background noise so that it doesn’t feel like a library. Did I mention they also have wine and beer, and live music(I think on Friday nights.?) That’s pretty awesome. Décor is great — feels very homey, great lighting, and love the wood finish. Starting my Masters of Nursing program next week so, Studio 2, you’ll be seeing a lot of me! Selfishly, I just hope it doesn’t get so popular that I won’t be able to find open seating in the future.

This place is cute and modern/industrial with its garage door windows, tile floor and brick walls. It’s functional but not cozy. I solidly believe that coffee shops are in one of each of these two camps: either utilitarian(a great place to work) or comfortable(a great place to read a book) and then quiet(great for working) or hustling and bustling(where people are chatting and being social). This place is an odd mix of utilitarian and hustling & bustling making me not totally comfortable having a conversation OR dragging my laptop along. The food is good, although a /titch/overpriced for the neighborhood. I got a small biscuit sandwich for $ 6. Too much for such a small amount of food. I hate reminiscing about the way things were, but I much preferred this location when it was Java Jacks. It was a totally different vibe that was better executed.

Super yummy, and very low key. Great service and I love the whole interior setup, the self-bussing station and grab your own silverware and water. Really great spot.

This is my favorite neighborhood coffee shop. The quality of the coffee is excellent, and it doesn’t have that snobby fancy coffee shop vibe. Tons of great tables(inside and outside) to work at. Super friendly staff. 4 stars instead of 5 because I wish they had more gluten free food options. The laab is fantastic, but every now and then I just want a cookie with my coffee and the options are limited.

This is a solid coffee shop. I had a tasty little bacon & egg sandwich and my coffee was of good quality. I would eat here again. Friendly barista too.

Wonderful place! I like to check out random, small shop, non-chain, coffee shops all across the Twin Cities and everywhere I go, and this place is great! Very urban and modern-coffee-house feel to it. The lady was serving me was great and very informative, knew her products and was quite helpful. I love cold press, so that’s what I decided on and it was very crisp, dark and strong. Very recommended!

Give me all of the garlic aioli. I came here for the donut(points to evil Unilocaler Erin) but they were out. That’s what we get for acting like kids and sleeping all morning. But a nice consolation was the blueberry peach crumble that is something straight outta my mom’s kitchen. We both got the egg sandwiches which were about the best egg sandwiches I’ve had in recent history. Buttery english muffin, sharp cheese and that damned garlic aioli. They even use real eggs, proven by the fingernail sized egg shell found in my lady’s sandwich. Oops. No worries, that happens sometimes. Nice neighborhood atmosphere, a great fit for S. Mpls.

Everything cafes are everything to me. Especially when they have lovely sidewalk patios like this one does. The main reason I really dig this new place is that it’s so dang cute and perfect for getting work done in the summer with a coffee. It’s open-air, so even when you’re inside it feels like you’re outside. And it’s shady enough where you can be on the patio with your laptop without risking eternal blindness from the screen glare.(I know that’s, like, a strangely specific thing to care about… but I care.) Based on the couple of things I’ve eaten so far, the food is pretty solid. I liked the chicken laab rice bowl, but the crustless quiche/frittata special was just okay, nothing spectacular. I’m sure they are still working out a few kinks and there’s a lot of potential in the healthy-ish menu(excited to try more!). The only warning I will give to super hungry Unilocalers is that the portions are quite small. The concept works. The space works. The neighborhood works. I hope this place will be around for a long time.

I stopped in for their weekend donut because I’m a fiend. It was delicious. They had 3 flavors available and I got brown sugar glaze at the recommendation of the employee. She was very nice and friendly. Super cute atmosphere. I want to go back and chill with a cup of coffee there sometime.

I believe this café took the place of Java Jack’s, or «Jack’s» … and I have to say I am glad. Jack’s seemed to be confused about their audience and their menu & specialty. Not so for Studio 2! They are a coffee shop/wine bar combo, serving organic, vegetarian, and downright delicious food, similar to what you would find at a high-end deli. I’ve found myself jumping from coffee shop to coffee shop in search of the ultimate package: ambiance, coffee, service, and food offerings. I’d venture to say that this joint has got it goin’ on, like bowchickabowow style… The inside is a long, thin area, with tons and tons of natural light, plenty of table space(some a dat reclaimed wood-style), comfy chairs, nooks for those just wishing to read in peace, and a back corner room for small groups as well. The front counter was uncluttered, with plenty to look at and choose from. I ordered a chocolate-espresso banana muffin, and it was moist and dense and flavorful. My friend chose the chia fruit pudding and it was delish. I ordered a brewed coffee and it was perfect, and the friend got a dry cappuccino and was not disappointed. The baristas were cheery and helpful, and brought our drinks straight to our table. I am SO looking forward to this summer, spending time on the patio, or looking into the neighborhood from the inside, feeling the summer breeze as they open all of their garage door windows. Bravo Studio 2!
