The best bloody Mary’s I’ve had in a long time. Service is always fantastic! More of a neighborhood bar lots of people know everyone. Sante fe omelet amazing cheap prices and like I said service is always nice and helpful. Not the prettiest place, but it’s still worth seeing

This place is just all around awesome. Great/cheap pours, awesome weekly specials and an interesting fun crowd. Get the hot wings with the blue cheese, I don’t know if the wings or the blue cheese is better! A bit of a dive, but don’t dismiss this place.

As far as a dive bar goes, it doesn’t get any better. Great food, well poured drinks, awesome service. What more can you ask for? Definitely recommend to anyone in the area!

I love going to spring street and have never had a bad experience… until Tuesday. I went there for their delicious pork tacos and have never been more mistreated at a restaurant. We were unaware it was bingo night so when the lady came around and offered if we want to play we said yes. After 25 minutes of sitting at our table with no waitress we started to wave whenever she walked by to get her attention. She looked at us and did and said nothing. Then the bingo lady came around for the third time and we said we were not going to play another game because we have not been served yet. A different waitress came by our table and said she will be right with us… another half hour passed by. So now, After an hour, we finally decided to say something to another waitress… It turns out that we were not being waiting on because«we were mean to the bingo lady» which in reality all we said was we did not know if we were going to play bingo until we got our drinks. nothing else. There is no reason a waitress should EVER treat a customer like that with no explanation. The tables around us were even laughing at the horrible service and wanted to know why we were being ignored. We told her what happened and we were not even there for the bingo… she then freaked out more and yelled at us so we left. My group of friends and I go there weekly. We are never going back and are spreading the word. Horrible, horrible service. If you want to wait forever to be waited on and treated like crap, then spring street is your place. We have called the manager and have not heard back still.

Looking for a neighborhood dive? Look no further, SST is your place — nothing looks newer than ten years old in this spot. The atmosphere is real chill, folks of all different ages come together for greasy goodness and stiff drinks. No need to dress up — come in old sweat pants and sandals, guaranteed no one will notice. The only downfall is the beer list is a bit small, but the cocktails are strong so I would stick to that. Also, the guy next to me ordered a bloody mary and although not a fan of the BM, the thing looked delicious. All in all, this is a cool divey bar with good service and great drinks. Cheers!

For a dive bar with great food this is as good as it gets in the Minnesota. Easy to find, large parking lot and a big outdoor seating area. You will see jocks and bikers and everything in between, all having a great time. The walls are filed with special Vikings and Gophers memorabilia. The bar has a few big screens with the Twins game on. The restaurant has a lot of room and the basement has bands. Metal on Friday. More mainstream on Saturday nights. You do not hear the bands when in the restaurant. The bathrooms are what one would expect. Not spotless, not dirty… The staff is amazing. Katrina was friendly, efficient, helpful and most of all, a real person. The other two men who also checked on us and delivered food we equally great at their jobs. You get the feeling it is a passion more than a place to work. The food is simply the best. They have mastered the art of spice blends. The wings in their special spice rub were like no others. We will be back for these. The deep fried shrimp in their spice blend were the best I have eaten since Florida. I want to ask if they were freshly breaded. That is how good they tasted. So tender. So much flavor. The fries have a special rub that is delicious. We also ordered a breakfast entrée, which is served all day long. WOW. The hash browns were perfect and a large portion. The sausage links are quality and the eggs were cooked exactly how we like. The cost is low. This is a dive bar with an «A» game in the food and service department. Spring Street Tavern serves Grain Belt Premium on tap!!!

Excellent hashbrowns, phenomenal service, one hell of a tasty mimosa. Wonderful welcoming greasy spoon eatin’. I’d recommend it.

We live very close to this neighborhood bar, and boy, am I glad. Their wings are my favorite in the Twin Cities by far(both the Buffalo style and the herbed dry rub), and good Lord, their homemade bleu cheese dressing is exquisite and is served in generous quantities. I normally despite bleu cheese, but theirs is the perfect combination of tangy and savory, with just enough chunks to keep the texture interesting. I always have a decent amount left after my wings have been finished off, and I often resort to just eating the leftover dressing with a spoon!(Not ashamed to admit that!) There is always a good amount of people no matter what night of the week it may be, and they have some pretty great daily specials. Bar staff has always been friendly, although the language can get a bit coarse at times, so don’t bring your mom.

Great brunch and fun shows in the basement. I’ve been coming here for years and the food is always on point.

Seems like it could be a fun place but my eggs Benedict’s eggs were hard boiled solid. They we’re understaffed so it was slow but the staff was nice and fixed the issue. Everyone seemed to be continuing Saturday night’s party into Sunday afternoon, so great place if you’re looking for that. Even the staff was getting in on the fun. Inside had loud dance music blaring and outside was it’s own party. If you’re looking for a gourmet brunch with very prompt service, might want to look elsewhere, but overall not too bad.

I like dive bars. I especially like dive bars who serve greasy spoon breakfast after a 8 hour shift overnight at the hospital. The food is plentiful for the price tag. Nothing like a good bloody mary with your breakfast burrito. Great service too.

I’m on a wing kick, so I came here to try the wings. We got a basket of the eponymous Spring Wings. They were a spicy sweet sauce on a nice batch of drummies. With plenty of chunky blue cheese and celery. Had a Newcastle to wash it down. Very nice wings, but not the best in town. That look on my face? Its not a frown.

Last Christmas I blew out my tire at 3 am leaving my boyfriend’s parents place, and he was kind enough to come and put on my spare in the –20 degree weather. In return, I treated him to breakfast at the place of his choice the next morning. Hence, my introduction to Spring Street Tavern. Since that glorious morning stuffing our faces with a breakfast burrito the size of a small child, I have craved Spring Street whenever I fancy an old-fashioned greasy spoon breakfast. This place is definitely a dive, nothing look newer than ten years old. The atmosphere is relaxed, and people of all different ages come together for the glorious food and drinks. No need to dress up — you can look barely presentable and no one will bat an eye. Beer list is slim, but the cocktails are strong so I would stick to that. Greyhounds are particularly good here. Bottom line: come here. As long as your décor/cleanliness standards are low you will have a fantastic time.

5 star to a 2 you say? Service from the waitstaff has always been great so thats clearly not the issue, the issue is the food. It’s just simply not very good as of late. Overcooked eggs, undercooked hashbrowns and just cheap tasting product. The spring street browns with poached eggs were once a staple when they were cooked right. Cripsy browns with perfectly poached eggs are a thing of the past. Don’t ever think about ordering a salad here, you will thank me later. Sorry SST, you’ve lost that love and feeling now its gone, gone, gone.

Having been to Club Underground many atime, I was surprised to see friends raving about the brunch at Spring Street. Perhaps it’s the thought of returning in daylight. I tried the brunch once and maybe because I don’t have warm college memories of the place, or like bloody mary’s to desire a a mix your own bar, but I left feeling let down. Yes, it’s a drive bar. Perhaps my expectations were too high. Should i have said egg-spectations? In any case, the food took way too long for dive food. All I can really recollect is the hashbrowns tasted way too much like oil and grease to be enjoyable. If you like bloodys and desire a sports bar vibe. then sure, it may be your egg but I’ll stick to Club Underground below.

It’s a dive bar. Plain and simple It’s fun, friendly, and they have purple shots on Vikings game days! I had only been to Club Underground before making way upstairs 6 years later, and Spring Street was everything I had hoped it to be. We went here for the Vikings/Packer’s TIE game a couple weeks ago, I went to drink and have fun and that’s what I did. I didn’t partake in the breakfast/brunch food options but they all looked pretty decent and standard. I did have to order some Buffalo wings before I left and they were EXCELLENT. I’d go back.

I was not impressed with Spring Street. The spring wings I had heard such great things about were too saucy and sweet. Not nearly hot enough and the sauce was really thick. For the best wings, I recommend Runyons. They don’t have ideal seating for big groups. I went with about 10 people and we really struggled to make it work with table arrangements. Plus, the waitress was really mean. The regulars in our party claimed this was her«thing.» I didn’t get it, but I figured it worked for her or she would change it up. Then I figured out why it works for her– automatic gratuity. It may have been just because we had a big party. I would have probably left 15% instead of my usual 20% based on her attitude but oh well. She also tossed us our bill and said she would not split it up. Nice. The best thing about the experience was the blue cheese dressing– really well made! But if that’s the best I can say about a restaurant I don’t think that’s a good sign. As a tip: people really seemed to love the tater tots. Supposed to be really good. I should have gone with those.

This is a review that has been the better part of 10 years in the making. Back in the day, the Spring and I were neighbors, so it became my default go-to place for a game of pool or a pint. It should, however, be noted that the Spring was not the alt/hipster dive that is today — it was an actual dive(my friend has the scars and medical bills after an encounter outside to prove it). Flash forward a few years and the Spring has cleaned up its act a bit. The addition of Club Underground, some fairly respectable pub grub and a shift in clientele has made the Spring a pretty cozy neighborhood bar — a place that I could happily be neighbors with once more. That said, I don’t think my zip code is going to be changing anytime soon, but I’ll still stop back for a cheap pitcher of Premo and a couple of games of pool on occasion.

I don’t think this bar could get any better. Want somewhere to go for an amazing breakfast and spicy bloody? Go here. Want somewhere you can sit on an awesome patio in the sun, order food, and be served rather quickly? Go here. Want somewhere where you’d rather be inside watching the game where it’s kinda dark, but there are still some small windows? Go here. Want somewhere where you can let loose after dark, where a DJ on a Thursday night will surprise you? Go here. Want somewhere where you can bring a $ 20 bill and probably still have change? GOHERE. Why aren’t you there and checking in yet?
