The shop is in a great location in Burnsville. The braider was very fast and took less time than if I had gotten my own hair done. They start right on time and don’t waste your time. The braider did a nice job on my hair and I have recieved many compliments. The only reason why I wouldn’t come back because the box braids were way too expensive. The price was $ 200. FORBOXBRAIDS?

I had an appointment this past Monday to have Senegalese twists done. I am new to the area, so I was already uneasy. I showed a picture of how I wanted my twists sized. She was done really quick… but looking at it again when I got home, I saw why. She parted my sections way too big, so I didn’t have a lot of twists and u could see my parts all over… not something that I wanted. I called back, and was told to come back to have some of the sections re-parted into smaller sections. It looked better, still not fully happy, but I decided it was okay. Two days later, I still see sections that are way too big, especially in the back. I can’t do my usual styles with my twists because I don’t really have a full head of twists. I am so unhappy with my hair. The lady was really nice, and I appreciate her for trying to fix it, but this was the worst Senegalese twist hairstyle I have ever gotten. I am just going to go to another shop and shell out more money to have it redone. I wouldn’t say don’t go to this shop, but I should have visited first and asked to see the work of the exact person who was going to be doing my hair instead of trusting that everyone does hair the same way as the pictures on the site.

Having been graciously contacted by the owner, Rama, I was inclined to give Safari another try once I was in the market for a new ‘do. Last weekend, I decided to pull the trigger. As previously, setting up the appointment was very easy. They always answer their phone and they are always willing to work with you on scheduling.(Let’s face it — when the majority of your clientele is «us,» you have no choice but to be generous in your scheduling and cancellation policies.) I called on Friday and got in the next day. Upon arrival, I was ill-prepared. No stress ball to squeeze. No puppy to strangle. Not even a book to read. This was going to be a VERY long afternoon. Or so, I thought… HOLYBUCKETS was this a different experience! Both ladies who tended to my tresses(one of which was Rama herself) were attentive and gentle. Rama recommended a hair color that I wasn’t initially fond of, but assured me that it would compliment my skin tone.(She was right.) When asked how much longer the appointment would be, she provided an estimated time frame.(She was right.) When it came time to pay the bill, she stated a price that was expected to match the price quoted on the phone.(She was right.) Not only did I have a solid, pain-free experience(some discomfort, for sure, but I didn’t grit my teeth or ball my fist once), but I genuinely had a great time!(I will note that the lady who did the majority of my twists previously was not working this time.) The ladies in the shop were cordial, engaging me in fun, positive conversation. The music in the shop is also ONPOINT.(When you’re sitting on your ass for five hours straight having your scalp tugged, you’d like to at least be distracted by good tunes.) All in all, I’m VERY happy I went back. Thanks to Rama for being so professional and open(and, might I add, the chick is GORGEOUS!). I’ll be back for sure!
