another buffet for dinner in MN we went to. there wasn’t really much i liked about this place better than buffet king and new century buffet. the crab legs were alright. the fried chicken wings were ok at best. the only new thing i haven’t seen before here was the house special pork chops.

I have only ever ordered delivery, so I can’t speak to their actual dining establishment. However, here is my rundown of Panda Buffet(includes my regulars and some new things I tried tonight). The good: –Fried Donuts. uhm, holy crap! I ate FOUR of them in one sitting!!! Dangerously good. –Lo mein. I find this to be extremely greasy, but the perfect thing to wreck my healthy eating habits on. –Wontons. Always perfectly done and I secretly love eating them cold the next day for breakfast. wha? –Sesame chicken. Standard. The bad: –Fried rice. Boring. Usually hard. If you order plain, it literally doesn’t come with anything besides rice… no eggs, no scallions, no nothing. –Wonton soup. The wontons were delicious, but the soup had some weird aftertaste and the grease was so thick my tummy couldn’t handle it. The ugly: –Steamed dumplings. Oh my goodness ew! I can’t even put to words how disappointed and grossed out I was by these. I ate one and threw the other 7 in the trash. I didn’t even check to see if my roommate wanted them because I wouldn’t wish that crap on anyone. Despite my lackluster review and the 2 star rating, I continually come back to Panda Buffet. It deeply saddens me that this is the best deliverable(key word) Chinese food I’ve found in the Calhoun/Uptown area.

I flew into the twin cities late one night and was too exhausted to drag my a** out of my comfie hotel room to satisfy my growling stomach. So I ordered delivery from this place. I was famished for 45min before the delivery girl finally came w/my food. At that point, I was getting dizzy from low blood sugar and her head started to look like piece of ham…

I was only in here once and that was enough for me. Yes, it’s cheap, but it’s just not worth it. The food tastes awful, even for a buffet place. It seemed like they had recycled the food from days before and only reheated it. I tried some chicken that was so hard and tough that I spit it out after taking a bite. There are so many other Asian buffets and cheap places to eat that there’s no reason to torture your stomach. Maybe I came on an off day, but my one visit here is enough to scare me off from visiting again.

Seriously, what is it about«Asian» buffets in this city? I know 99% of buffets are filled with pretty nasty food that are full of potentially lethal ingredients but, at least they are full. Right? Not in the case of Panda Buffet. Almost everything was empty(or getting there fast) and there were only two other groups eating at the time. Cream cheese wontons are so gross that the thought of them makes me gag a little, but that’s pretty much all I ate at Panda Buffet. They were good! There were(maybe) 6 pieces of sushi out but, they do make anything you ask for and I suggest you take them up on their offer. I also found it odd that so many people were coming in for the pay-by-the-pound takeout. I wanted to smack the mom in the business suit who brought her kids in to stock up. I’m an adult so it’s ok if I choose to stuff myself with MSG and grease, but those kids have such long lives ahead of them! If they eat at Panda Buffet on a regular basis, they don’t even have a chance. Everything else was overcooked and soaking in something’s body fluids but, whatever. I wasn’t looking for perfection.

Food is average. However, it’s a good deal for all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. I guess it’s Minneapolis style for chinese restaurant.
