Amazing service, incredible flavors. Great environment for a casual date or studying. The art gallery feel is truly unique. This building has great history and the café is becoming a Northeast favorite. The prices are great and everything is made from scratch… Can’t beat that!

Their ground coffee is to die for. I got spoiled once, and now I have to buy their beans all the time. Very good espresso, expensive and a little precious … don’t ask for a frappuccino!

Mojo Coffee is somewhat a hidden gem. Great coffee, wonderfully playful yet easy layer back atmosphere with plenty of art for sale by studio artists located in the same building. the special treat is the tastefully prepared foods bordering on the gourmet side of delicious. you’re got to give Mojo a try. This is my new found coffee shop in NE Mpls. and those surrounding suburbs. I live in Roseville and it’s just a short drive or bike. A nice alternative to the Starbucks and Caribou of the world. High wood ceilings, wood floors in this industrial design with a nice low sound of music. Great WIFI for easy Internet access. Dave from roseville…

I love this place! The atmosphere is so laid back and hard to explain… just have to see it yourself. They serve grey duck chai tea & the owner is awsome, a very nice guy. I love the food, and it’s not a bad deal for the amount of food you get.

This is by far the nicest coffee shop in NE Minneapolis. The atmosphere is diverse enough to accommodate your needs, whether it be studying or meeting a friend. The owner is actively involved in the operation of the coffee shop and it shows. Unlike Starbucks, where the owner is far removed and children basically run the business this place is home-grown LOLO and it shows! If your in the area stop by and check it out. Great coffee, great food and awesome artwork. The shape is almost agoraphobia inducing it’s so wide-open. This makes it less constricting and provides a goldilocks atmosphere: enough anonymity to have private conversations and not too noisy that you can’t focus or study. I have to admit that I’ve only been here a few times but I went to event here that was just incredible and the culture reminded me of being back in Berkeley, CA. That kind of nostalgic experience is hard to find in Minneapolis but it’s definitely part of the Vibes that I get here. Maybe that’s the Mojo the name is referring to.

Nice place. Not enough armchairs vs. tables, but the table chairs aren’t bad enough to drive you from them rapidly like some coffee shops. Drip coffee is serviceable. Haven’t tried the espresso yet. Some actual cooked food options. Muffins have that weird gluten-free density but aren’t marked as such. The strong points of this place are location and the space – a lot of art, which I was surprised to find included pottery – and a comfortable, inviting atmosphere. I’m putting it in my breakfast rotation even though Nordeast is a bit out of my path. Also, I’m not sure if this is really Nordeast or not. But whotthehell whotthehell.

Breakfast Bowl was yummy. Nice blend of horseradish and siracha flavors with potatoes, eggs and greens. Try it.

Great atmosphere and layout with high vaulted ceilings and creative artwork that makes you feel hip and cultured. The coffee is good, the music and noise level the same, there are stylish tables for both sitting and standing, the food is clever and tasty(banh mi or curried potato salad!). Oh and the folks who run it are so frigging amiable I find myself wanting to give them more money for coffee even though my bowels feel betrayed by the onslaught. A bit off the beaten path, but these people deserve traffic!

My credentials: I spent every day for 4 weeks in this place over the spring studying for an exam, from open to close(with friends,) so I’d say really got to know this place well. Ambience: Amazing place to get lunch with friends, brunch on the weekends, listen to live music, watch pottery, shop for local artists, and of course, get an excellent cup of coffee. Additionally, a peaceful enough environment to study, and the wifi is superb. Outlets abound. There are board games and coloring supplies for the little ones(and the kid in you.) Food: Incredibly reasonably priced breakfast and lunch menu. Love the grits, mac and cheese, bun mi, brownies. Everything is made fresh and it shows. Coffee: High quality baristas making all the drinks you coffee connoisseurs know and love. Latte art on fleek. Also just an excellent cup of Joe is available for the simple folks like me. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. Marco, the owner, is an amazing artist and person who works with fellow artists in the california building(the warehouse this café inhabits,) to make his dream coffee shop a reality. There’s a booth in the corner where you can watch him and other potters work with clay, which is super awesome! He invites musicians to come perform every week or so. Super nice guy, always refilled our waters even and chatted with us sorry band of studiers for multiple weeks. Go Mojo!

Cold brew with a live art installation! What’s not to love? Jonathan T’s review really sums every detail of this place up so well, but I can’t believe how cool it actually is. It served as the perfect spot to get some good work done the last time I was in Minneapolis, and I’ll definitely be going back again. The coffee I had was wonderful and I really can’t wait to try more from the menu. The space itself is what sold me, though — I loved watching the artist in the corner work on some art made of wire???(clearly I’m not an aficionado, but it was really cool.) There was a TV up high that was showing what he was doing, too, so you could see really well. I love the natural light that flows into the space, and overall this is just a really solid coffee shop. It might take you a minute to find it once you get inside the building, but don’t let that deter you. *Terminator voice* I’ll be back.

I have yet to find an atmosphere which surpasses Mojo. It is their outdoor patio which grants them superiority in my mind, surrounded by flowers all around and a lattice canopy above, it is the ideal location to spend a summer afternoon. The cold press is great, the espresso is pretty good(maybe 4 stars good). I believe B+W is the roaster that they use.

If it’s 3:01 pm and you are hangry, don’t come here expecting the kitchen to be open. However, fear not my fellow Unilocalers. I just had a prepackaged kale and arugula salad with some type of delicious miso dressing. Not sure how long it’s been there and not sure if I want to know but it was so good I was prompted to write this review. And again, if you are hangry, you might need to order about 5 of these because the portions are tiny. I was definitely left wanting more. HOWDARETHEYTEASETHEFATKIDTHATLIVESINSIDEOFME. There is so much I want to talk about: the deck, the art, the spaciousness, the food, the coffee, the staff; but ain’t nobody got time for that. I will say that the Cuban sandwich is also a must try and the banh mi was surprisingly good and refreshing. However, my friend didn’t seem to enjoy her dry veggie burger too much.

And the award for Best Coffee Shop Space goes to… ***opens envelope*** Mojo Coffee Gallery! ***** Believe in the stars, Unilocalers! This Northeast java hideaway now claims my top spot for best place to pound out some«work» aka endlessly stare at all of the cool art that ranges from unique sculpted mugs to the vintage Mars Attacks poster. So. Freaking. Cool! To reiterate what Kristi E wrote, I hesitated writing a review, because I, too, «want to keep this place all to myself.» What I love most about the space, though, is how open it feels. The ceiling seems higher than nine feet(thanks exposed beams), the square space doesn’t feel constricting, the windows allow for tons of natural light, and the inside flows nicely into the sizable and quaint patio area. Even though it was a bit warm for Minnesota — a blistering 70 degrees — it felt nice and cool inside. OK, so the space is cool. But what about the coffee? I only had a cold press, and it was low on the acid(like how it should be) and perfect for the day. I just ate lunch, so I didn’t have room in my stomach to try some of their baked goods and banh mis.(Yes, finally a coffee shop that serves a different kind of sandwich.) There’s a robust selection of eats, for sure! Other things that you should know: +It’s in the California Arts Building and on a residential street(California), so there isn’t as much foot traffic as other coffee shops. +Once you enter the building, ascend the stairs to your left and take the far door on the right to get to Mojo. Otherwise, you’ll find yourself lost in a random art gallery +The bathroom is around on the right side of the ordering area. There’s only space for one at a time, folks. +Did I mention the patio? It’s immaculate. I can’t wait to come back!

We’re moving to the neighborhood next week so we met friends for pizza at PS’s and strolled through the area to find a quiet place to chat over after dinner coffee. I remember when the original Mill City Café was in this space and pleased to see the lovely patio brought back to life. Even more pleased to sip a perfectly brewed cup of cappuccino, speak with the friendly owner, Marc, and scout out a table for telecommuting in the near future. Mojo makes me extremely glad to be moving to NE!

This is one of my favorite coffee spots in NE. It’s spacious, light and there is great artwork on the walls! And now that the weather is nice, I plan on taking advantage of the lovely deck to sit outside and enjoy a morning cup of coffee. But more importantly, the coffee is always strong and there is a creative selection of healthy and delicious food or snack options. The staff here are super friendly, with impeccable service. There’s great«mojo» at Mojo Coffee!

Aghhh I don’t want anyone to know about this place, because I want to keep it all to myself! But damn you all, you über-friendly baristas, and you incredibly welcoming interior, spacious tables, ample outlets, delicious café au laits, and SURPRISE awesome live jazz music on Thursdays 4−6…this just might be the next best thing about Minneapolis. This café just happens to be in my absolute favorite building in the TC, the California Arts building, which is home to some of the most talented artists and their insanely cool studios. This coffee shop lives in the once vibrant Mill City Café(which I definitely did not try to get into 2 years ago to find that it was closed and felt like an idiot.) The entrance is on the East side of the building, or from the patio — which I am supa stoked to check out when spring finally decides to show up. Another perk, there is space IN the café for artists to work IRL !! There was an artist painting when I waltzed in, and he even asked for my opinion, so basically I was an essential part of the next arts movement.

I’m excited about our new Coffee shop in the hood! I have been here twice now and it keeps getting better and better! The space is really cool and they feature local artists! The coffee is good! The breakfast options are even better! I’m excited to see this place evolve and if they start to sell alcoholic beverages!

Everything falls into place for this remodeled coffee stop w/artful adventures decorating the walls, and the pieces are for sale. High rise and low rise wood tables, an artisan practicing his craft and continuous video on the wide screen of a potter creating. The perfect combination for this northern end of the arts district filling in N.E. Mpls. The area is changing from grimy industrial-warehouse to craft brews, art galleries and lofts. Cold and hot food and the usual variety of drinks. The interior basic is about the same as when Mill City was in place and they moved on to bigger things in another part of N.E. Mojo has a stage for music(who did they bribe at city hall for that). That’s a tough license to get from owners I’ve known. This will be another great place to hang and observe memorabilia and inspect pottery from the California Building studios. I’m looking forward to warmer days and stopping as a halfway point on a bike or walking trek. Oh the food-Muffins moisty and tasty with a good helping of blueberries. Bahn-Mi on the sweet side with softy bun but still chewy. Plentiful supply of chips to fill the plate. I like the dark roast to be a little stronger than offered but this still had swirling after taste which is a good thing. Nice addition to the neighborhood.

F*ck yeah! Some of the tastiest coffee I’ve had in Northeast. Atmosphere is spacious, hip, and comfortable. Artwork was rad too; way beyond the usual coffee shop art. Stoked to go back and try the food.
