I called Mallard Creek my home for a year. I think it is an excellent apartment complex with wonderful, responsive management. I would highly recommend Mallard Creek. Location: The neighborhood is extremely safe and actually quite pretty… nice landscaping, green space, trees. The air just seems so fresh here! Restaurants and shops including a Starbucks are walking distance. It’s also located right off Highway 55(but completely tucked away from all the traffic/noise). Yes, you are not in the heart of the city(uptown, downtown, etc.) but it is such a quick, hassle-free drive into the city. In-Unit Features: And, yes, this is not one of those fancy hardwood floor, stainless steel appliance lofts that you’ll find popping up all over the city, but the units are still very well-maintained and in great shape(new appliances, washer dryer in unit). Community Amenities: Parking(including 1 underground space), pool, business center(this is essentially a tiny closet with a stone age computer), fitness center(also not large but the treadmills met my needs), tanning bed(not sure anyone used this), dvd rentals. Staff: Management is very attentive and responsive. Maintenance is quick to come address any issues that may arise, which are few and far between. Value: Unbeatable. I could potentially get a studio of equal quality in the city for the same amount as a 2 br/1.5 bath here. If you’re looking to rent in the suburbs, I’d check out Mallard Creek.

Building was nice enough, and maintenance work got done in a timely manner. On-site management was great, but they were not always in the office. It made trying to get packages or getting info a little hard sometimes. Location was great for getting downtown in a jiffy, and there were some great restaurants within walking distance. Library was also close, which was a plus for me(with a kid). Also, a bike/footpath was really close too. Management has changed since I left, and I know they expanded the gym and got rid of the hot tub.
