It’s a good place. I usually go there on my lunch breaks on Taco Tuesday. It’s family owned and very authentic. The food is full of flavor and the salsa bar is great.

We had to use the giant washer next door for some blankets so we decided to eat here while we waited for it to be done. We walked in and a lady who had walked in ahead of us was greeted with a huge«Hi!!!» and a smile and even a big hug. That lady sat down and when the hostess came back to seat us we didn’t even get a Hello or a smile, just grabbed 2 menus and we were supposed to follow her to our table. There were PLENTY of open tables, but she sat us right next to another booth with people. We took our menus and moved down 1. We got 2 waters and that seemed to have taken forever to get. I had heard about their«epic» salsa bar. We weren’t sure if we were allowed to have some… was it free? We finally decided to go for it. Lots of choices, cool idea, but they weren’t chunky. They were more of a sauce? We got the nachos supreme and it was really good, I ate it all! my tacos were good too. so was my boyfriends food. The service was awful. She never came back to check on us or refill our waters. I used the restroom and the back needs some major cleaning up. Looked dirty. The entire restaurant could use a huge makeover. When we left she never even said goodbye or thank you, we walked right by her at the front desk and she saw us leave. So rude! Food was great, salsa bar was mediocre. Service was some of the worst I have ever had. Fix these things and then I will come back.

What kind of food would you expect when the restaurant sits between a dry cleaners and a convenience store? That’s pretty much this place. And though I only gave two stars, it’s a solid two stars. I’ll probably never come back, but I don’t regret coming. Don’t worry about what to order, it all kinda tastes the same. I had the steak fajitas and my wife had the chicken. The texture was different between the two. That was all. The music playing was the star of the affair. I give the music four stars.

My husband and I live within a mile and decided to give this place a try. I ordered a burrito and my husband got an enchilada. Both were flavorful and made with fresh ingredients. Service was fine but not terribly friendly. Temperature in the restaurant was a bit on the cold side. Food was good though so we’ll be back.

The salsa bar is a neat idea, however I found the salsa to be below average. I didn’t really like any of them to be honest. The tacos were cheap and delicious. You could tell they were authentic. The chorizo, carnitas, and barbacoa tacos were great but the steak didn’t have a whole lot of flavor. The staff was very friendly and the food was served quickly after ordering. My only other complaint is that it was extremely cold in the restaurant. Overall, it was a decent experience but I don’t think I’d go back.

What a shame! As others have noted here, their salsa bar WAS the main attraction. Some of the very best in the Twin Cities. Unfortunately, they have now watered them down so much as to not make the place worth the trip. It’s not a heat level thing; the wonderfully thick consistency has been lost. After two visits with the same experience, there’s no denying has been done intentionally by the owners. Our theory is that this was a money-saving scheme. If so, a very ill-conceived one. The rest of the menu is entirely average, so adiós Las Teresitas…

Disappointing, no chips! Usually food is good, eat here once a month. Stopped in today for pickup on the way home and there is no chips, no solution, no other option. Not sure what happened over the new year, but next time I do pickup, might have to choose one of the other great burrito places in Richfield, south Minneapolis and Bloomington. Kind of sad, hope they improve their service.

I won’t go back. They don’t seem to care about whether or not we were happy with our meal. The tamales were not well made. Waitress acted annoyed that we wanted some salsa. The place has a funky atmosphere. .and they cheated us out of change when we gave her a 20 dollar bill. Stay away!

I live within a mile or two so I have been coming here for a while, but it is definitely not as good as it once was! Service is not very friendly. Food is very mediocre. The last time I went I got steak and it was so tough to chew and dry! I don’t what happened here but it’s not as good as it used to be. I’m gonna have to switch back to Dominguez family for Mexican!

I decided to try Las Teresitas after seeing various press giving the restaurant high praise, but had a very disappointing experience. The salsa bar, which seems to be the reason for most of the eatery’s acclaim, is downright bad. Though there are quite a few salsa options to choose from, most of them are very bland and some are even kind of gross. My party and I came upon two salsas that had a pungent aroma that we concluded was most similar to that of wet socks. My guess is that the peppers and tomatoes used in their creation were not the freshest on this day. We encountered very slow service and another party actually turned to our booth to ask if orders are supposed to be placed at the counter. We informed them there is in fact waiter service, but we too had regrettably been sitting and waiting for it for some 10 – 15 minutes. On top of this, our orders were accidentally switched with an adjacent table; an honest mistake, but being that we had both ordered burritos, it was not discovered until we had already dug in, and everyone’s meal had to be remade. The food itself at Las Teresitas is not terrible, but also nothing to write home about. The burrito I had on its own is probably worth a three star review, but with poor service and nearly inedible salsa, two is being generous. There are many better options around town.

I have been there a handful of times including June 9th(taco Tuesday) for lunch. My server was a younger woman and not the taco Natzi I usually get. But the food is good I got 5 tacos, must get 5 to get the salsa bar, which is a must! I asked the server to pick my five tacos, she picked 5 different. One beef one didn’t have much flavor… add their awesome salsa. But the others were good especially the chorizo and lengua. I love tripa too, but in the past they have made them to crisp, good tripa should be on the rubbery side. Go there try their specials. Good value too.

They have a great 5 $ burrito deal on Mondays — which I’ve gotten as takeout. They’re delicious. The inside of the restaurant is a little sparse but for the price of the food its expected. Honestly, the food is a huge selling point.

I was craving Mexican food and we were in S. mpls — found this place on Google and arrived after the lunch rush. I ordered the Steak Diabla and fiancée ordered some burrito with habaneros and japalenos — the food seemed to take awhile to arrive(20 – 25 minutes), but I’m pretty sure it was because there was 1 person in the kitchen, and 2 tables had placed orders right before us. That was alright. they had a chips and salsa bar that I got acquainted with in the meantime. The chips were on point, but honestly, none of the salsas struck me as being that great. Then the food came… I was starving so I ate ¾s of it, and my fiancée finished his burrito. Nothing to complain about, but nothing mind blowing either. I respect the place for what it is – a semi dive-y Mexican establishment with decently priced food. But I’m not sure I will be back.

Las teresitas. .where have you gone???:((( Over the last several months things have gone downhill. You used to be our favorite standby for good mexican food. Sadly, our last several visits have not been good. Luke warm food, portions and flavors inconsistent. We keep trying, but have been let down each time too many times. The chef must have changed as the mole lacks depth, rellenos are not cooked fresh to order and are not as crispy as they once were. too bad.

Too bad the service was horrible. I didn’t even get to eat because it took too long. When I got there booths and tables were open but I had to wait 20 minutes.(I have a lot of patients) and I was like ok. 20 minutes later they sat my boyfriend and I but 30 mins later no water… no I’ll be right with you… no sign they were going to take our order. We were hungry so after 40 mins being there we left. We didn’t even bother to order because I just could tell being in that place for almost an hour watching how they worked it was would take at least another hour to get our food. Every conversation I heard with the host/waitress was you got my order wrong… I want my check… you have to wait… sorry this and that. I couldn’t even have the salsa bar because the chips were empty. 40 mins in that place and they can’t refill the chips? I don’t know if I just came in the wrong time but that was a big waste of my time and drive to be known as the best Mexican place in Minneapolis. I’m going to chipotle…

I saw this on a «best of» list and was excited to see that it was in my neighborhood. Sadly, the food was not very flavorful. I had barbacoa, pollo, carnitas, and fish tacos. The carnitas was the only one I would even consider trying again. Worst part of the whole experience was waking up 5 hours after dinner with extreme nausea and stomach pains. Stay away.

Bland bland bland! Its like they never taste their food! A little salt can make all the difference in the world, and not to use it is just plain stupid. In a city with deplorable Mexi food we need to stand up for our right to have seasoning!!!

I’ve been coming to this place for a while now and I gotta say when you’re craving that old school California/Mexican street taco this is the place. On Tuesday’s they are a buck each. They have a lot of options for your protein. After trying almost all of them I will say the carne asada(steak) is hands down my favorite. The best thing about this place is that the meat is juicy, the tortillas are cooked perfectly and their salsa bar is second to none around the Twin Cities as far as I’m concerned. Some of the salsas are actually spicy and even better they are not watery. I will be the first to say that this place is the definition of a hole in the wall. It’s off a random street off of 62-E and tucked in between a convenience store and a laundromat. Obviously this is not organic, local, blah, blah, blah but sometimes when you really want the real deal, you make sacrifices. The restaurant appears to include the whole family who are working very hard to keep this place going. So next time your craving some authentic tacos you should really check them out.

Found this place on Groupon and have been back once more. It’s a small family run place that’s not much to look at but it’s clean. It also has a chip and salsa bar in the center with a large assortment of salsa’s. I don’t remember what I had the first time but this last time was steak Diablo. It had a real good spice level that made my nose run. It was packed with flavor and chunks of garlic. The nice thing about this place is every day of the week there is a different special, that’s always good value. I will definitely come back again.

Was luered here by a fish taco craving, great Unilocal reviews, and a groupon! And I love hole in the wall places, but this place was not for me. The good: awesome salsa bar, be careful though, we tried all the salsas and they were all spicy, definitely not for the weak. Pretty decent authentic Mexican food at reasonable prices. The bad: The service was terrible. The waitress took forever to take our order and we were using a groupon for 2 platters for $ 14 and a couple drinks. I didn’t want a platter and asked if I could have 2 fish taco orders instead which would have been cheaper than a platter but she said no. I ended up getting a platter and an order of fish tacos because I still wanted to try them. Fish tacos were ok but I still prefer the ones at sea salt. The ugly: When our check came I was expecting just the fish tacos to be on the bill since I already paid for the groupon, however there was an additional charge of $ 2.19 under food. I asked her what it was and she told me it was tax. Any idiot can tell you that 7.5% tax on $ 5 is not anywhere close to $ 2. I also pointed out that tax was already calculated at the bottom, but she told me it had to be paid twice showing me some calculation to equal 18%, she basically took out her own tip. Needless to say I didn’t tip the table, but just took our change and left. Tip: food is pretty decent, but pay attention to your bill! Also, they have a special that is 2 platters for $ 15 everyday so the groupon wasn’t necessary.
