Love the sausage breakfast wraps. The chili mayo they put on it is so good! Their homemade baked goods and salads are really good also. They have vegan options and almond and soy milk also so it is a good place for vegans!

I’ve been here several times, and the chocolate coffee cake is a favorite. The baked goods are all homemade, which is exciting but sad when they run out of what you want. The seasonal pumpkin pie is a favorite and shouldn’t be missed. They have two kinds of chai– one being grey duck chai, the other kind I can’t remember. But you get your choice. I’ve also enjoyed both the hot chocolate and cider. So where does it go wrong? The salads, admittedly, are lacking and it doesn’t really anything else for lunch options. But the baristas are always friendly, and I’ve come to recognize two of them so far. What I wasn’t so «keen» on last time I visited yesterday,(pun not intended when I was writing this,) was the Christian radio station. I get it if the owners are Christian, but setting a mood for your business is important. I was meeting someone for coffee and the music alone made me want to walk out before I ordered anything as I grew up with KTIS radio 24⁄7. I’m not looking for a church setting; I want to go for coffee with friends or by myself and be comfortable. The Beat in uptown sets a good example; they hold church services on Sundays, but they play music the local scene can handle on regular business days. All in all, the location and the baked goods might keep me around, but the combination of the various independant artist paintings, baked goods, sparse seating… and then that music doesn’t fit together. It needs to go in one direction or another; I feel it lacks this.

I got the Mandarin Chicken salad and the Apple Pie. The salad was some romaine lettuce, tasteless chicken strips and dressing that tasted like a Kraft Italian. Very disappointing. The Apple Pie was alright. The guy at the counter got confused about how much the Apple pie costed.

Went in this morning on my way to work. I ordered a cold press and a slice of coffee cake, both of which were fantastic. The cold press in particular is what really caught my attention: dark, with a kind of caramelly finish, but mellow enough to drink black. I’m something of a cold press enthusiast, and it seems like the folks at Keen Eye are as well. One thing I found odd was the«top 40» radio station that was playing over the speakers. Sort of took away from the«grungy, independent coffee shop» feel that I think people expect.

A little sparse as far as seating goes, but look up to see the beautiful tin-ceiling. Also there is a lovely hand-made tile top bar facing the street. They had fresh flowers throughout the shop, and the barista was very sweet. I ordered an Americano and it was pretty good. It has only been open since September, so I’m excited to see how this place progresses over time!
