I guess I’ve never had real authentic India food but their menu tastes good to me. I went during lunch for their buffet so I got to try a lot at once. I would recommend it if you have an itch for some Indian food.

Favorite place to eat! Best Indian food in the twin cities. Big Lunch buffet. Very very affordable. I’ve been coming here at least once a week since they opened and they never let me down! The owner works with the food himself, loves what he does and does it well. Wonderful people. Big hearts. Easy environment. Perfect location. No reason not to bring all your family and friends! Must try. Your belly will leave happy every time.

My prayers have been answered! Finally Uptown has a great Indian restaurant. India Palace Uptown does everything right: the menu is extensive, the food is fresh, well-made and delicious, and the service is friendly and attentive. Indian Palace executes wonderful savory dishes like black dal and shahi korma. All of their curry dishes are amazing. Theirs are the lightest, freshest tasting sauces, but they all have wonderful body. I especially like that their vindaloo doesn’t sacrifice flavor for heat. Run, don’t walk! Go try them now!

I came in Minneapolis for the weekend and saw the reviews of India Palace on Unilocal. I needed to pick up food for a party of 12. The man that helped me was very kind and knew all the right questions to ask to make sure my guests had a good assortment of food. The food was ready when I needed it and it was delicious to boot. Thank you!!!

Went there today with a couple of friends. OUr servers were great — both James and Anil. Very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious. We had the masala dosa — 3 types — paneer, regular(potatoes) and chicken. And the Dahi chaat something. The tea was amazing! All in all, was a great welcoming atmosphere, great food and staff. Will be coming back surely.

Both the food and staff are awesome here! Everything is fresh and delicious and they don’t skimp on the spice when you ask for it! I try to eat here at least every 2 weeks and my usual waitress always makes awesome suggestions for new appetizers to try. The Samosa Chaat is one of the best things I had there — perfectly spicy. Get here sooner than later — you won’t regret it!

My wife and I had a $ 20 Living Social voucher and decided to hit uptown for our Saturday lunch. It is in a strip mall, with very little parking, so we had to park around the corner. It was a 7 degree day, so the walk was a little chilly. #Edinaproblems. We sat down and I ordered a Taj Mahal bomber, a light lager that lasted the meal. Not bad, not great, just your typical lager beer. I ordered the chicken curry and my wife got the garlic naan. After about 10 minutes, our food came out and it was spot on! The naan was perfect with lots of garlic, and the waiter had asked me how spicy I wanted the curry, I said«Medium-hot» and it came out PERFECT! Really good, just the right amount to fill me up and the basmati rice was plentiful and had a nice nuttiness to it. Our server was awesome, not too intrusive, but there if we needed him. Outstanding lunch!

Authentic north indian food, tandoor staters are awesome. Quantity is very good, the daal makhni served with paneer tikka was simply superb. Professional service and very nice customer service, all of them had nice smile on their face. We were full just with the starters and couldn’t try more dishes. We took dosas home, which is the only reason I gave them four stars, dosas didn’t impress us. Overall, a very nice place, with nice customer service and authentic food, would recommend ppl to visit if they are looking for nice north indian food.

Was just in for a very quick lunch buffet… I want to go back ASAP! I didn’t have time to try it all, but what I did have was fantastic. You also get garlic or plain naan included In the cost of the buffet. Hurry! We came back again and still love it !! Love me some josh rogan — keep it up India palace!

Have been wanting to try this place since it opened — I’ve also heard some great things about the other India Palace in the suburbs. Went to this place craving some Indian lunch buffet, was very happy with the service, the food was okay. They had more variety than I expected but it didn’t overwhelm my expectations, as I was hoping it would. The one thing that was STELLAR here was their fresh naan — so fluffy, so fresh, such a perfect consistency. It was $ 9.95 for the lunch and $ 1.95 if you want chai(they misheard my request for my check for«chai»). As for the variety they offered: — White basmati rice — Vegetarian biryani — Curry potatoes(delicious if you’re a fan of potatoes — carby, perfectly seasoned) — Chicken makhani(thin curry, drier chicken chunks but chicken breast) — Chicken tikka masala(thicker curry and delicious, tender chicken breast meat) — Fried ball curry(the fried dough balls were okay, thinner curry, not a must have) — Saag paneer(fresh spinach, delicious greenery) — Potato samosa(fresh, deep fried, pretty standard) — Tandoor chicken(fresh, moist, flavorful) — Beef ball curry(thin curry, ground beef balls + beef chunks, very tender meat) — Chickpea curry — Salad — Pickled veggies(spicier than I’m used to, and they have slices of ginger in there… which I wasn’t used to as I bit into it…) For dessert: — Fried dough balls in honey syrup(good, but a little on the harder side) — Kheer(rice pudding — thin, pretty standard) — Mango pudding with fruit cocktail(thick, good, right amount of sweetness) Worth the trip if you live in the area and good price, but I’ve been to a LOT of Indian restaurants and this is probably okay in my book. They DO have Indian street food though on their menu and I’m very intrigued in trying those soon. Will probably come back another day to try those items!

Yes! Great Indian food and that’s even getting it delivered via Bite Squad. Love that you can order a three flavor naan side! The Chicken Makhani, Saag Paneer, Dal and Channa were all excellent. Great chutney as well. The popadums were a little too salty but that is a minor complaint. We will be eating here on the regular!

I had high expectations given the overall ratings. However, we were disappointed mainly by the rather bland taste of the two primary items we ordered — chicken tikka and benghan bharta. Admittedly, it looked quite good and perhaps the spicing just had an off day but, as big fans of Indian food, we certainly hoped for better. The samosas were good, as was the naan and papadhum. The servers were very nice and service was good. It’s just that the main dishes didn’t have much flavor. Oh well.

Yesterday was my first time here, and you can bet your ass it will not be my last. I wish I knew they had an attached private parking lot in the front(part of a plaza). I figured«Uptown? Parking is going to blow. Excuse me while I scrape my bumper across the curb a block away»… Once I entered the building on such a chilly day, I was greeted by a warm and inviting employee(possibly owner or GM), fun music videos, a comfy booth, and beautiful buffet. Check out my photos of my lunch buffet plate — so colorful! F* Skittles, come eat the rainbow at India Palace. Some of my faves from the buffet: Mushroom palak(spinach), tandoori chicken, chana(chickpea) masala, gulab jamun(«milk solid dessert»), and these curried meatballs. Each dish was flavorful and not too spicy. I liked to add the green chutney to up the heat. The naan was cooked fresh to-order, and was included with the buffet. I highly suggest you order the mango lassi too. Our servers were so sweet, and even described and imitated the people in the Indian music videos! We made sure to say goodbye on our way out. What a great lunch with great company too(shoutout to Gabriel C)!!

Food was phenomenal. Service was very personal and our waiter was great. Feels like a small town place even though it’s in the heart of uptown. Beef josh, chicken samosas and garlic Naan had me in heaven. Will DEFINITELY be back!

Great food, great customer service, great atmosphere! What more could I ask for? All the food I’ve had is great. I’ve come for the weekend lunch buffet and had one of the meals for two they have. I really enjoyed the meal for two because it came with an appetizer, main dish, desert and flat bread. Highly recommended!

I take my son here sometimes for some good Indian food. This is a delightful place for a good lunch or dinner. I always feel welcome because of the good staff. They’re wonderful with kids. They have paid closer attention to the needs of my son, which I like. I feel like they tell me to come back when I leave, which I always do. This is a good environment to sit around and enjoy my meal. Their food is delightful and to die for. I have tried a variety of their plates, and I have never left their unsatisfied. The staff takes the time to make sure that I am satisfied with my meal. I recommend this place to anyone who loves Indian food. I love this place!

I’ve updated my review(it was at 5 stars and still is 5 stars) because I’ve been going here more often and trying more things so I thought I’d share. I’ve ordered take-out here a few times now and it is always timely and delicious. The staff here are wonderful. They are always nice whether you’re there for take-out or dining in. I can’t speak for everything on the menu but nearly all the chicken dishes I’ve had have been awesome. The best part of this restaurant though is the daily lunch buffet which is roughly $ 10 bucks and I’ve tried nearly all of it and can say I went back for seconds and thirds. So good. The lamb, the chicken, the beef. I don’t eat naan but they give you fresh naan with the buffet as well. For those of you who are gluten free– they also label each item that is gluten free which is not only convenient but kind. Plus– there are plenty of GF items. Love love love this place!

What nice people! The food was delicious but what stands out just as much as the food is how nice the staff was. It would be okay not to expect much from a restaurant tucked away in a strip mall that had previously housed such greats as Baja Sol. But, India Palace has fantastic food, great service, and a decent atmostphere… and a menu the size of a greedy kid’s Christmas list! We’ve sat in and done take out, both times a charming experience. There is a small parking lot but as they’re becoming more popular, the parking lot has less and less space. So for those of you just close enough that walking/biking is an option, but car would also be acceptable, get your exercise in. Everyone needs that after some Indian food. :) Hint: if you live in the Uptown area, they have a coupon out in the Fall Uptown Quarterly 2015.

I foresee many cold winter nights filling myself with warm naan and beautifully seasoned curries. I expected the usual Indian food menu, but was pleasantly surprised to see some more inventive dishes alongside the classics. One of my issues with Indian food is that the substance of the dish is usually limited to two ingredients – spinach and chickpeas or potatoes and peas or you get my drift. They have some veggie dishes that have more variety of vegetables, which makes me feel like I’m getting more of a complete meal. The one I got — balti special I think it was — was fantastic. Flavors were spot on and it was loaded with veggies. They also have tofu dishes, which is always appreciated. And yes, as other reviewers have commented, the service is very polite and professional. Rounds out a great experience. My only issue, and I’m in the weeds here, is that their silverware seems really cheap. The fork has these weird grooves or ridges in it that kept hitting my tooth or tongue in a distracting way. But my husband didn’t notice at all, nor would most people. I just might bring my own fork next time!

Excellent food and polite service. Great place to visit. First time. Date night We had chicken tiki masala. It was fresh and worth ever bite. Place is very clean. Quick service. A must do if you are in the area! We cam came for dinner. It was quick. My girlfriend had a nail appointment in 30 minutes. We did not want fast food. They got us in, took our order, and delivered on their promise Who said you have to go to fast food place? Ha! Thanks again. You have a new fan. We will be back for sure!!! JR
