Clapperclaw Festival is a smörgåsbord of hipster culture including live music, film, theater, art, and fashion. Clapperclaw Festival too place this year at Intermedia Arts in Uptown Minneapolis. The venue was the perfect location allowing both inside and outside entertainment areas. Outside there was a large central stage where most of the big music acts including Someone still loves you Boris Yeltsin and Free Energy performed. In between performances was a live play and even a fashion show. Inside there was an art exhibit featuring many local artists and a theater featuring short films and a documentary on music festivals. The best part of the festival was The Beer Dabbler. For twenty dollars those of age festival goers received a souvenir glass and a 10 hole punch card which could used to sample the multiple different beer varieties. The only downfall to Clapperclaw is that it may be trying to be too much. There is so much going on the festival feels slightly choppy and disconnected.
