Disappointed. I love Bombay Bistro, but since I didn’t have a lot of time today, I thought I would give their express location a try. There was one young man staffing the place, and at noon, he was not ready to serve anyone. No food out ready to be dished up. Ten minutes later, and after apologies, he was ready, but then the credit card machine wasn’t working. Food was only ok. The Dal was not fully cooked — some of the lentils were hard! The Chicken Tikka was ok — the sauce was quite good, but the chicken was dry and looked as if it came pre-cut from a factory. The Paneer was also good, but very sweet, and the Naan was perfect. However, the portion sizes are quite small — about 3 – 4 small bites each, and I thought it a bit on the spendy side for what I got. Next time, I will make sure I go to the regular location for the buffet.

Great Indian food. Significant improvement in quality/quantity of food recently. Definitely worth a try! This is a subsidiary of Bombay Bistro– in Downtown Minneapolis. The food is great. If you don’t feel like going to Bombay Bistro for the full buffet and are not _that_hungry, you can get the same great food here. I believe the food is around $ 6.00 or $ 6.50ish for five items(which includes chicken biryani, veg. biryani, chicken tikka, gobhi manchurian, curry chicken, naan, kadhi pakoda etc.) The spread is great, the overall presentation is great including BBC playing here all the time. Lets get to the details. There is a good amount of food for downtown, however, the location is unadvertised and is un-findable– if there were such a word. The place is hidden behind Macys between 8th and 7th street. Well, if you are on the 7th street, enter the door between Candyland and Foot Locker. The food is very close to authentic. The menu includes some Mexican/Greek food too which no one has ever ordered.

Perfect place to fuel up before shopping! Regarding your food selection, beware. They will tell you you get to choose«5» items. They literally mean 5 spoonfuls. Next time I will say«1 rice» «2 chicken tikka masala,» «1 paneer makhani,» «1 naan.» I mean seriously but it is cheap for downtown and the food was very tasty. Décor is very cafeteria/fast-food-like. The Naan is the way I like it, plenty of char. If you park in the 7th Street ramp, it’s right as you get off the elevators on floor 1, kitty-corner from the Macy’s entrance(near the shoes…).

Nothing fancy, hidden in the Skyway behind Macy’s, but a tasty affordable lunch. Great gulab!
