I came from Maryland to visit my boyfriend for the weekend and we happened to drive by Annie’s, thought the exterior looked neat, and decided to give it a try. We were seated promptly even though the restaurant was crowded for lunch. My boyfriend ordered a burger and I ordered the chicken noodle soup. My boyfriend pulled the bun off of his burger and the cheese looked gooey, delicious, and melted to perfection. The real gem of the lunch experience was the chocolate malt shake that we shared. It tasted like real, genuine chocolate and not the fake chocolate taste that shakes sometimes have. To top it off, their prices didn’t break the bank and my wallet was sure grateful for that.

If you are a burger lover you have found your sweet haven. If you are a malt lover you have also found your sweet haven. If you are fry lover, again you have found your sweet haven. This place is super good and reasonably priced. I can’t wait until the next time I get to eat here.

Annie’s has an «old school» feel in a fresh and young environment. It’s located right in the middle of the U of M campus, and although I’ve only been here twice, I absolutely adore this place! I have been here on a date and with a group of friends, and both were great experiences. I would recommend Annie’s more so during the spring/summer months than when the weather is cold because it has that«summer» feel to it. Plus, you have the option of sitting outside when it’s warm. I was out on the patio in the fall, and it was a bit too cold for us to fully enjoy our experience. I had the fresh mushroom cheeseburger when I was mostly recently there, and it was really good! I also liked their french fries as well. I did not get a shake this time around, but if you have room for it, I would recommend the chocolate shake. The shake is definitely big enough to share with another person. This is a good place to take your kids, friends, or significant other!

I good place for when you want a decent burger and fries. The wait staff is attentive. I have had really good experiences here and others have not been so good in terms of service but my most recent visits have been nice dining experiences. It is a great place to eat with family and especially great in the summer when you can sit outside on the patio.

I have never had such a negative experience. We have attended this venue on several occasions for work lunches however after today I doubt we will attend again. At a going away party for our staff we weren’t able to sit together because«no tables are available .» At the time four tables were in the restaurant. No attempts were made to accommodate our group. The service was a little slow. Server was pleasant but manager was very rude.

Fries and malls are amazing here. My kids absolutely love coming here before the gopher game. It’s our habit. Love this place and it is a family ritual

Tonight I was very excited to try Annies Parlour for the first time. I happen to love butgers and malts and such. The meal was pretty darn good. Me and my lady friend ordered mozzarella sticks for an app. We each ordered a burger and split a half order of fries. We completed our order with a malt. The service was the worst I have ever had. Our server didn’t even smile once. He didn’t ask us how we were doing!!! Once we received our meal, he did not even ask us how our meal was tasting The fries were over cooked. As me and the lady are/have been in the service industry, we were both like we did not want to tip this guy. We left him 5 percent as we are usually 20−25% tippers. Very dissappointing to say the least.

Came here with friends after a dance practice and was extremely hungry. Was sat before a group of 10 people, received my order AFTER said group. Received my burger after an HOUR of waiting, cheese was cold and fries were stale. Turns out our server mistakenly put their tickets in before ours. Horrible. The only reason why I didn’t leave sooner was because my friends were there with me. After reading other reviews, it’s not uncommon that others find the staff incompetent and rude. Awful service. Overpriced food. Not worth it. The next time I want burgers and malt I’ll take my business to Snuffy’s in St. Paul.

Love this place! Annie’s is a classic. From the rooftop seating patio area to the delicious burgers, milkshake and fries I can not get enough. Being situated in Dinkytown, Annie’s, caters to all groups and ages. I tend to order the California Burger(this just means that is comes with lettuce and tomato) with cheddar and pepper jack cheese. I mix it up a bit with my Milkshake options, so far I have had: Butterscotch and vanilla Caramel and vanilla with fudge Vanilla Milkshake If I am by myself I don’t order fries because even the half dish is large. But if I do have company I definitely order fries along with my burger. Their fries are great! They are so good that if you have left overs you don’t have to worry that they may go bad the next day, instead they get better with age.

Great sandwiches, burgers, and shakes, says a foodie guy from Texas! We made a great choice to stop in while visiting the campus area. Staff were extremely courteous. Really generous Oreo shake with lots of extra Oreo in it! Chicken sandwich had a good flavor and the fries were also really good.

Went here on Sunday before Labor Day while students were finishing move in at the U. So lots of people were out and about. We entered the indoor dining area about 2 pm and felt at best an irritant to the hostess. She pointed to the table that would be cleared for us but it took another 10 minutes for her to seat us as she went to the back somewhere several times. She indifferently walked us to said table and as she walked away said«food is taking 40 minutes». If she had been the slightest bit friendly we would have not thought much of it, but the attitude said they didn’t really want our business so we got up and left, unnoticed. Went and had a great meal at Loring Pasta Bar a couple doors down. Not a great first impression of Annies.

Went here last night with my boyfriend. We were super hungry and our eyes were hungrier than our stomachs. The food is pretty good and certain foods come in large portions. My boyfriend got the turkey burger and a chocolate mint milkshake. I got the cheeseburger and the Oreo milkshake. We had half an order of fries to share as well. I’d highly recommend the milkshakes, turkey burger, and fries. Turkey burger had more flavor than expected and it wasn’t dry either. The cheeseburger was ok, a bit on the bland side and didn’t have as much flavor. Tomatoes and lettuce is upon request with the burgers. Their half order of fries is still a lot of fries, It could be easily be shared amongst 3 – 4 people. The fries were a bit greasy. They aren’t as crispy but have good flavor. The milkshakes are huge and they give you the cup in which the milkshake was mixed in. It definitely filled the milkshake glass twice! All in all, the prices are pretty decent with the amount of food you get and the service was great. I’d definitely come back here again in the future.

Buy the malt and dip your fries in it. So delish!!! We loved coming here when we were in college, because they were open late for study sessions.

One of my favorite places to get a burger and malt. This place is your classic burger joint complete with an outdoor patio on the roof. Their burgers are well seasoned and juicy(even when you ask for well done!) they don’t typically come with lettuce and tomato so make sure to add that when you order. My go to burger is the bacon cheeseburger with cheddar along with some fries. The regular order of fries come in a basket that is enough for 3 or 4 people so make sure to specify that you want a small order just for one if you don’t want that many fries. I also encourage you to experiment with the malt flavors. I have tried a few different flavor combinations but ultimately I like to stick with the Coffee and Oreo malt. Also one malt order can be easily split for two so order with that in mind. The also are great with take out. If I am in a hurry I will order 15 min ahead of time over the phone and it is always ready by the time I get there. Tip: Parking is not usually very open in this area so plan to have some time to drive around and find a spot.

The fries come in a large container-one order serves 4 people! Milkshakes are a great flavor and consistency!

Annie’s parlor has to be one of my favorite restaurant in Dinkytown. They have amazing malts(Oreo is my favorite) and their burgers are pretty good too. I love the atmosphere and the waiters and waitresses are quite friendly. Don’t miss it if you’re in Dinkytown!

this place used to have better burgers. portion sizes for sides are huge, but burgers have been smaller, dry and bland lately. Really just a basic place for college students with a large appetite and a few extra bucks. if i go back, it would just be for the massive fry basket and a shared milkshake

Oh Annie’s, count thee ways I love you. 1. Fun spot. Up the rickety wooden steps and to the patio that outlooks Dinkty town in the summer heat. 2. Burgers grilled to perfection topped with cheesy goodness of your choice. 3. HUGE portions of fries, like really huge! 4. Awesome milkshakes of every type and flavor. First place I came across the wonderful combination of banana and butterfinger. Pure bliss. 5. Great value for your buck. Annie’s Parlor. Go. Now.

I really enjoyed the delicious shakes and malts here! They let you mix and match flavors to perfect your favorite shake. The burgers were pretty good, not to much write home about. Our waitress was solid. I’d stop by for a shake, but I’d have to think hard about the burger considering all of MPLS great options.

Oh Annie’s Parlour… how I love and hate you… all at the same time!!! I remember years and years and years ago… while a young and ambitious student at the U… grabbing a quick burger for lunch, then bolting to my next class. Oh the good olé days :-) Well, I recently stopped here with a few co-workers and had a throw-back moment! If you’re a little tipsy, you might have a bit of trouble getting up ALL the steps… this joint is on the second floor. The views are great from the patio during the summer, you can see Minneapolis skyline and the amazing U of MN. It was a bit busy, but were able to snag a couple tables for the 7 of us. For whatever reason, the service was SLOW… don’t know what happened, but I had to wave someone over a couple times just to place our order(gawd I hope they didn’t spit in my burger!). We ordered 1.5 orders of fries… when you get a full order, it feeds a small village of people; then had to get the bacon cheese burger, bacon makes everything that much better! The burger, damn the burger is good… greasy, cheesy, spot on bacon, topped with bun… you simply can’t go wrong! I want a vending machine that simply feeds me the fries they have… salted just right and CRISPY… love it! I didn’t get a malt this go around… but will need to the next time I go :-)
