I love to swim and appreciate this amazing facility in our valley. All of my children learned to swim in these pools, had birthdays in this facility, and I trained for a tri in these lanes. However, the pool seems often over treated with chemicals. You will smell this upon arrival. Also, I have frequently recieved rude treatment over the years… always from the more mature and seasoned employees. The younger lifeguards and staff are friendly and helpful… seek these folks for help.

This review is only for the birthday party aspect of the CV Swim Center. The facility itself would get five stars for the waterslide, outdoor pools with rock wall, kiddie pool, etc., plus the prices are reasonable. I booked a birthday party for my daughter who was turning six. I was given an hour and a half time slot(finding out later that the normal slot is two hours). So I paid the $ 75 to reserve the mezzanine as I did not want to deal with adverse weather outside. On the day of the party we went upstairs to set up and there were some men sitting on a bench watching the swimmers. I figured once we started setting up they would vacate. This didn’t happen. Throughout the duration of the party, strangers came and went through the mezzanine, often sitting for some time. There were no signs stating«private party» or anything like that, so strangers just came and went through our party. This made me question what exactly was I «reserving»? Seems to me I could have just wandered upstairs myself and had a party. When you pay to reserve your space, it does NOT include swimming fees. And since strangers spent their time in the mezzanine throughout our entire party, I’m really not sure what I paid for. Additionally, even if parents are fully clothed and not swimming, you have to pay for them to go «on deck». I imagine this has to do with the center’s inability to police people(and ensure they do not swim) once they are through the bathrooms and on deck. I just didn’t think it was right that my reservation for the party didn’t include a set number of children and adults. The Swim Center closed at 6:00 that night. We cleaned up(a young man did come upstairs to sweep) and I went down to pay for the children and adults that swam. A lifeguard was there but not a cashier. It was up to me to call the next day and pay via phone. I felt there should have been a better set up for this. Fortunately for them, I suppose, I did call and pay but I would imagine plenty of people wouldn’t. When comparing party places around the valley(the bounce house, Tumbleweeds, etc.,) I would not opt for the Swim Center again.

I’m done trying to figure out the ever-changing rules that only apply randomly. Really, really frustrating! The pool itself is great, but the staff are inconsistent with policies. There have been many examples in the last year, but here is today’s. For instance, it’s ok for a toddler to be in a bikini, but my child can’t wear a more modest leotard, because it’s «not technically swimwear». What’s the difference? It’s the same shape and they both have spandex. How can you logically distinguish between the two. I’d like my daughter to be more appropriately covered. I understand they don’t want someone showing up in cut-offs and a t-shirt, but can we have some standards and allowances for modesty as well. I won’t be back, and I’ll be spreading the word. There are other pools in the area. I highly suggest you choose one of them instead.

Great place for kids! 5 pools included! Indoor and outdoor pool plus 2 awesome water slides, heated therapy swimming pool and a kiddie pool with water features! Diving boards plus a pool-side rock-climbing wall! Food and snacks — clean locker rooms, showers and a bonus cardio workout room — and admission is only $ 1.75!!! Well worth the drive and a fabulous mountain view! Sweet hidden treasure!

We went on their 25th anniversary so only paid a quarter per person. It was really hot but the water still felt relatively cold. Still, they had a variety of pools for the kids.

I started going here last year do the water aerobic classes and it is a very nice swim center. The only itty bitty issue I have is the crabby lady at the front check in area. I’m from LA, but I didn’t want to go all street on her so I just come in with a smile and after a while she became a bit friendlier. I’m good with that!

If you’re in Carson City and it’s hot as hell and you can’t be bothered to drive up the hill to the Lake but your kids are driving you crazy, go to the Carson Valley Swim Center. It’s not a water park for sure, but it’s nice for what you pay. There’s an L shaped pool for laps with 2 diving boards, a warm pool area for adults and six and under, a kiddie pool area, a water slide for those 48 inches and taller and an outdoor pool. They have nice changing rooms and a snack bar that we didn’t use. It’s enough to keep the kids entertained and out of your hair.

Did Carson Valley Swim Center forget that they are largely tax payer funded??? I guess if they already have some of our money and they are the only pool in town that means that they can pick on any one that they want to. I pay taxes… and I am a responsible 26 year old just trying to get my 7 month old some water therapy. I don’t have a child who is going to splash around, yell, or bother anybody. Kiss my tax paying ass

I love this place. I appreciate that there are hours when it is just adults so I can bring my elderly mother and not have to worry about her being run over by the kids. My child and I both enjoy it also.

My Son really didn’t want to endure 2 long car rides this weekend coming up to Genoa and returning to the Bay Area. If forced, he would rather make the trip in the winter when it’s cold, rather than dealing with the summer heat. Then once we’ve here, how do we get him out of the house and temporarily away from his beloved Internet, Magic cards, or Bey Blades? During our latest short stay in the Carson Valley, one answer is the bowling alley(Carson Lanes) or the Carson Valley Swim Center. For the price of admission($ 1.75 for the Kid), this is what you get: — A 25 yd x 25 meter, indoor, L-shaped, six lane competition pool — A warm indoor activity pool for children — Two fully enclosed waterslides. — A 93 degree warm pool, fully accessible with a ramp, pool lift & stairs. — 2 outdoor pools: a 25 yard competition pool and small family pool — Two diving boards: 3 meter and 1 meter It was packed the day we went, as there was a swim meet in progress at the time. I decided to relax out of the water and watch the world go by. I eventually moved outside as the indoor humidity was too much. That go more interesting when a swim meet judge(on break) sat down next to me. One parent who walked by wasn’t really kidding when he joked about«shaving points» as the judge was enjoying his snow cone. What followed was an fun discussion about parents in general, and what competition does in particular. This parent was just happy knowing that his son was having a good time with his cousin. Now if there only was a hot tub available for this Dad’s sore cat– and kid-chasing muscles…

This swim center is by far the best I have ever been to! I took my two kids and my two nephews, ages 2, 4, 6&10. I thought I was going to have a terrible time as 3 of them don’t swim but I was wrong! There 4 indoor pools. one for the two water slides, one therapy pool(almost hot tub warm) one large L shaped pool with the L blocked off for the two diving boards and the last one is for the little ones. It is 1 ft deep at one end to 2 ½ ft deep at the other. It has fountains spraying, a big mushroom with water flowing over it and buckets that fill then dump on the kids below. It is GREAT! I could kick back and keep an eye on all 3 little ones. They also have 2 pools outside. one olympic sized and one therapy pool. This place gets an A++++ from me very affordable and they have a snack bar
