I’m a big pizza fan, I’ve tried all different kinds in different places. Not sure how this fits«NY Style» other than a few decorations in the shop. The good part: It’s very cheap for slices & you get a little garlic roll with each slice. It’s pretty average. I tried 2 slices the other day. Bland sauce, bland cheese. Toppings seem decent quality. Workers seem decent & they actually cook the slices for you. Location is kinda«hidden» if you come from the south. Interior is pretty basic.

Stopped in with a friend. I had the sausage & pepperoni slice. My friend had the Bacon Cheeseburger. Slices were $ 3.50 and included a garlic knot. The sausage and pepperoni were both spicy and had good flavor. The sauce was on the sweeter side. My slice may have been over-baked. The crust had a bitter flavor and was too crispy and thick to fold like a NY slice. I tried the bacon cheeseburger slice. The crust was better than my slice, but the rest of the slice was average. I expected more flavor with those toppings. The best thing I ate was the garlic knot. It was perfectly crisp on the outside and very soft in the center. There were a lot of varieties available by the slice, with the most unique being the Chicken n Waffles. Pieces of deep fried chicken breast and unseasoned waffle fries topped a mac-n-cheese pizza. That was too heavy for me to try. Service was good, except one customer came in and asked if there was a slice with beef but no pork. A young lady suggested the BACON Cheeseburger slice. Don’t worry, he ordered the BBQ chicken slice instead. This place should be ok for a while with the college students around here.

Sal’s is amazing! My boyfriend and I checked this place out on a whim and it didn’t not disappoint. $ 2 for a large slice of pizza and a garlic knot! Awesome, quick service and a lot of food for a good price. Highly recommended.

I really have to take a minute to praise Sal’s Pizza’s owner and staff for making our Christmas party a huge success. Finding the right catering service is not easy when planning an event for 120 people but Sal’s Pizza did an amazing job. They got to my place right on time, the pizza was hot and fresh, the owner was generous and helpful giving us extra garlic knots and salad… everyone had a great time and we even had leftover pizza for next day :) Hands down one of the best event catering I have ever had!

So greasy and gross. I’d rather eat little Caesar’s and spend $ 5 for the same stomach ache. Will not return.

Stopped in here tonight after hitting up the black rose up the block for drinks, hmmm where do I even begin? I was raised in Queens and moved to Milwaukee 9 years ago, since then it has been hard to find a REALNY style pizza by the slice place but heard some people at the bar raving about it so I decided to try it, right away I was greeting my the owner who just has that«NYSWAG» and for only $ 2 I got a huge slice and a FREE garlic knots, may right away I knew this was the real deal slice. The crust was crisp, the top was gooey and the balance of the cheese and saw was perfection, right away I had to have another! they are using high quality ingredients if you are a foodie like me you can tell right off the bat. The atmosphere is cool very NY style and the staff are very friendly and you can tell they love working there, you must try this place you cant go wrong, I wish I could give it 7 stars.

Swung by for a slice while I was in the area. Seems like a new place and the owner is a New Yorker so people were raving how it’s real NY style pizza. As someone from NY I found it funny and didn’t expect much. Went with the basic slice, tried the garlic knots as well. Was actually really good! Fresh and crisp. Guess they know what they’re doing when it comes to pizza.

This is by far, my FAVORITE pizza joint in Milwaukee. Their prices are extremely reasonable(just like real NYPIZZA) Their slices are huge and flavorful just like I remembered in NY. Their slices all come with these little amazing garlic knots(dont forget to ask for some marinara sauce to dip.) The service is always swift and the people have always been cool. I have not 1 complaint. I highly recommend them to anyone who loves pizza… period. but if you love ny style pizza. This is the spot… They have so many other items on their menu and I see they extended their hours. which is always a plus for their location. The Eastside is always awake and hungry. ;)

With a free garlic knot with your pizza you can’t go wrong. The pizza is heated for you so nothings ever cold. The staff was very friendly and nice to converse with. They also know how to direct you to a good slice choice. My only recommendation… Grab lots of napkins.

Really tasty New York-style pizza. Even better service. They were out of one of the ingredients for the pizza I ordered. The manager called me, apologized, and said that whatever other pizza I wanted would be upgraded from a small to a large. When I got there to pick it up, he apologized again and threw in some garlic knots as well. Really easy, very inexpensive way to turn a potential negative into a positive — good job. Only thing keeping them at only 4 stars: My wife ordered a gluten-free pizza, and I don’t know where they get their GF crust, but it was underwhelming.

It’s too bad ratings are limited to only 5 stars. Try the Sal’s spinach feta, stuffed spinach, BBQ chicken, margherita. they’re all good. Sal’s has become a weekly ritual guaranteed to satisfy even the hungriest appetite.

This is our go-to spot for a slice of delicious NY style pizza… good variety of pies & just the right amount of crispness to the crust! Everyone in the family picks out what they want; one slice is the perfect meal, & it fits our budget:) Also, the staff is polite & accommodating. We came in with a larger group on just an average weeknight after my son’s HS basketball game. It happened to be my mother-in-law’s 70th birthday… they sweetly & unexpectedly brought cake over for the table. We really weren’t planning on a celebration, but they ended up making it rather special for us, plus the cake was very good!

For what it is, this place rocks. Great, quick New York style pizza at a dirt cheap price. They also add a garlic knot with marinera sauce. Personal favorite is the chicken and waffles. Great addition to the East Side.

I’ve eaten at all the sals pizzas in wisconsin, Hartford, Cedarburg, West bend, milwaukee, all amazing so I couldn’t wait for this to open!(Took months) but finally tried it and it was fantastic! 5 stars. The staff was extremely friendly(college kids) and every slice comes with a garlic knot for about three bucks! Can’t beat that. They are open late and it’s a perfect location and perfect price point for the area. Keep it up and I don’t feel the other reviews are being fair this place just opened and is always packed when we come in! You must try this place it’s true nyc style.

2.5 out of 5 As I was browsing through Unilocal I was reminded that Sal’s here on Oakland opened. I had been watching that building before they got into it and was pretty happy to see a pizza joint go in there. I love pizza and am always looking for something new. Sal’s is on Oakland Ave. There are a few spots along the building but not many. You might find parking on Oakland or various other streets here. Upon entry you’ll see what pies they have available. I wanted a slice to go. I was a little disappointed to see there were only four pies out. Cheese, Pep and sausage were two of those. They do have some interesting combinations so it was surprising there wasn’t a better showing there. The gentleman behind the counter was prompt in addressing me through the door. Because of the nature of this place customer service interactions are limited and I cannot comment further. I mean… we are just ordering za here. The Good: I actually thought the crust was«ok». It wasn’t bad. It wasn’t the best but I wouldn’t say that it’s a weak point here. I’ll have a photo attached. There was good coloring on my slice and it was crisp and allowed me to get a nice fold while maintaining it’s structure. The OK: The flavor of my slice(Chicken Bacon Ranch) was fine but was something I would consider average. It’s a $ 3.75 slice. What do you want? The Bad: My slice had a lot of liquid on top. I have had some greasy pizza in the past but this particular slice from Sal’s was likely the greasiest I have ever had. I noticed the liquid shift as I picked up the slice and set it back down. If I don’t act wisely this will be a messy affair. I chose to fold then give my slice a good squeeze in a few points just to drain it. I would estimate I could fill up half a shot glass with the grease from this one slice. That is something I would look into. I don’t mind greasy pizza from time to time but this took the cake. The other note is that«To-Go» means the slice is put on a paper plate and into a brown bag. This isn’t the best or most effective method for transport. It will lose it’s heat quickly. Surely there must be better packaging methods. Brick 3 has that larger box. Is it truly too expensive to do here? If you are wondering about Décor it seems to be an afterthought here. I am a big advocate of saying that you should try it for yourself. These are fairly cheap slices and that is always good. I do think there is room for improvement here and that is OK. Sal’s is a newer restaurant and sometimes that means finding your footing and working out the kinks.

I’m a whore when it comes to eating pizza pie but I must truly say Sal’s was a disappointment. I like to keep a few different spots in my arsenal as pizza varies across the board. Sometimes you’re in the mood for a greasy pie and other times a more artfully specialized piece of pizza, either way I know the goods and Sal’s ain’t it. Toppings were fair but the dough is like cardboard. We also got our pizza delivered and half the pizza slid onto the other half leading me to conclude the driver was in such a hurry and held not a care in the world about ensuring my pie was delivered intact. There are many better za joints in MKE. Avoid if you can!

There is an error on their menu online and the listing for the Brew City pizza is a duplicate of the Coney Island, so we ended up with 2 the wrong pizza. Sal’s brought out the correct pizza fairly quickly, so not much harm there, but the pizza we did get was bland and tasteless. The pesto on it had zero flavor. The only taste came from the feta, so basically or pizza was mildly salt flavored. The BBQ wings were decent.
