Off The Beaten Path

This is a great shop. Great selection of vinyl AND cd’s at fair prices, (for those of you who still only have a CD player in your car). I am typically disappointed by the CD selection at music shops these days, but this place has a great selection! Will be back again.

This review is focusing specifically on their used record selection. I’ve stopped in here a few times during trips to Milwaukee over the past few years. Unfortunately, I can’t agree with the previous positive reviewers… I find their used records to be mostly overpriced, especially considering the poor condition of the vinyl and covers for some titles. Other record shops in Milwaukee are a much better bet for fair prices. Can’t comment on experience with any other equipment they sell, but as far as vinyl goes, I’m not impressed.

this place has such good customer service that i cant wait to go spend more money there. not only do they have great deals on their records but they fix up older record players and sell them at insanely reasonable prices. such good deals i almost feel bad.
beyond just great prices and great customer service i also think they have a pretty great selection of tunes for such a small location.
i promise you if you check this place out you will leave happy.

Very honoured to be the first person to review this place on Unilocal!When Flipville closed, I was devastated. To be honest, I never thought anything would open in its place. I was scared it would become a Walgreens, Subway, or McDonalds… When I saw a sign introducing Off the Beaten Path, I was excited and skeptical. How would someone live up the unique, strange qualities of Geoff Worman? Upon it’s opening, I came in to check out the new store. Not all of the inventory was laid out, but I was impressed with what was there. I bought around 40 vinyl records on my first run with the new record store. It is better organized and moderately priced. After the fall of Atomic records some years ago, I am in constant fear of good sources of vinyl disappearing, but thankfully Off the Beaten Path is giving us a run!
