I LOVE coming here. The fabrics are out of this world and some are just too luxurious not to touch. I come for inspiration for projects, but sadly I don’t buy from this shop because the prices are a little too far out of my budget for the items I have made. One day though, one day… The staff prefer to handle the bolts, so if you need a yard or two of anything, please get them to help. This isn’t Wal-Mart. Additionally, they will cut sample swatches of almost any fabric on display. The staff on hand are not pushy, and they are knowledgeable in what they sell. They also offer home consultations if you just can decide on which pattern to select for curtains. What’s more is that they offer upholstery and window treatment services! Getting here is easy, and there is a private parking lot available. When you’re done, it’s easy to just hop over to Mayfair for more shopping.

I’ve tried this place many times… and I’m finished trying. Admittedly, I’ve never placed an order, but we recently moved to the area, and have a whole house to furnish. Additionally, we have some vintage furniture that I wanted to have reupholstered, plus curtains, so have been on the hunt for fabrics specifically. This place has access to all of the top designer fabrics/trims/etc., plus a good amount of in-stock fabric on racks. I’m by no means super stylish, but I don’t ever leave my house looking like a bum. In other words, I’m not dressed in a way that makes it look like I can’t afford to buy some nice fabrics. On one visit, I asked about access to another colorway of a specific fabric that was on display in pillow form — the Schumacher Chang Mai dragon — which I referenced by name, and without answering the question, the clerk said«it is very expensive» in a very condescending way. This wasn’t an isolated incident, as I’ve been in this store at least 5 more times and found the clerks either a little rude or off-ish. I was there once when a clerk was working with a woman, going through some fabric books. The customer went to the bathroom and the two clerks were talking about her loud enough that I could hear them. Things like, «she’s never going to spend the money to buy this»… As a result, they won’t be receiving my business. Wallpaper, Wallpaper is just a few blocks east on North Avenue has access to all the same stuff and could not be more friendly. Sure, they don’t have such a beautiful showroom(in fact, Wallpaper, Wallpaper is kind of like a step back in time), but they also don’t have the bad attitude. .
