Capitol Cleaner

Brought in two shirts last week — one with a coffee stain and the other with a jelly stain. They were clearly marked and I was told ‘no problem.’ Well … as you might guess … neither one came out today. To ‘rub salt in the wound,’ they charged me for it. I’ve had good luck with ordinary dry cleaning here, but I wouldn’t recommend them for anything else.

Last week I made one of those huge stupid mistakes that makes you start thinking deep existential thoughts like «why did I ever leave my mother’s house?». My mistake was deciding to practice my calligraphy while sitting on my sofa. About 30 seconds in to gathering my supplies (all the while thinking to myself «ya know, I probably shouldn’t be doing this on the couch, I should probably move over to the table… nah I’ll be fine») I managed to spill a jar of black calligraphy ink on my sofa cushions.
I am not one to swear often, but in that moment, that moment of knowing I just goofed, like, big time goofed, I was dropping bombs. I frantically grabbed the cushion that had the most ink, and started freaking out trying to figure out what to do. I started googling how to get Ink stains out of fabric. After about twenty minutes of me trying google’s advice I realized I was in over my head.
So I started researching local dry cleaners and found Capitol. I’m so glad that I did! They were extremely nice, totally humored my mistake and made sure to explain how things would go and what I could expect; the stain probably wasn’t going to totally come out (which I pretty much assumed, it was black calligraphy ink, there’s no coming back from that) and there could be some fading around the stain. And let me tell you, I was extremely impressed when I picked the cushion covers. I almost missed the stain when I went looking for it! I don’t see any fading, you can tell where it was, but it took me a couple once overs to find it, which says a lot, especially when you see where it started! I definitely recommend Capitol Cleaner!

Capitol cleaners saved my life when no other cleaners in town would come to my rescue! I was in Milwaukee for a day over the weekend between interviews and needed a suit pressed. All other cleaners told me they couldn’t get it done in 24 hours. Capitol not only did it with in that time period-​they did it in less than 15 minutes! I will definitely continue to use their services in the future!

This place is great, my clothes always come out perfect. Great service and I love that they are organic.

We started using Capitol Cleaners when we moved to Shorewood 3 years ago. We won’t use anyone else. They’re environmentally friendly, customer friendly, and always do their utmost for each person who walks in their store.

The best dry cleaners in town!
I’ve been to the other dry cleaners in the North Shore area and Capitol Cleaners far exceeds my expectations. I go there to get all my clothes cleaned, my blankets, rugs, leather… I get all my alterations and tailoring from them. I trust them with everything! Any buttons will get replaced, any holes mended, and even if I have left items in my pockets (including cash!) they will always present it to me when I pick up my clothes. They are amazing! They come highly recommended from Harley’s (high end men’s store) and other merchants in the area. They have customers that will drive hours just to get their clothes cleaned from this place! It’s definitely worth coming here and paying for impeccable service.
Once you get hooked on Capitol Cleaners, you won’t want to trust anyone else!

Good but expensive organic dry cleaning. Great tailoring. I wish it was open Sundays.
